I also realize that my own sensitivity to sweetness is biased, so I won't critique the Habibi latte so harshly. Primary issue with the AI signage remains. Will be back in soon; still very much recommend Detour to others!* Stopped in while running some morning errands after realizing I forgot to eat breakfast; have been a few times previously, first time I decided to review. The food was honestly solid. Ordered the Magician breakfast sandwich as well as the Habibi Latte. The Magician was solid; balanced and hearty without being too dense; the pupusa bun is an intriguing touch; suppose the name "magician" refers to how quickly it disappears, but I could be wrong, haha! The Habibi latte was decent; a little too heavy on the ice, but the flavor profile including dates, cinnamon and cardamom was robust, and evoked the flavors of a Yemeni coffee shop. My biggest issue, one that warrant a full two stars off, is the ambiance. Namely the furnishings as well as the use of AI . While most of the dining room is eclectic and inviting, the furniture, namely the chairs and benches, are deteriorating and visibly withering. I forgot to take a photo, but imaging leather chairs and vinyl seat cushions scaling, chipping and disintegrating beneath you. Past reviews going back a couple years have pointed this out with increasing frequency; I highly encourage the ownership to take notice of this. Moreover, there are a number of visually-obvious AI generated posters throughout the shop, and that also seems to indicate a level of increasing carelessness as well. Overall, not bad, but I am worried about the trajectory of the shop from the lack of investment in dining room infrastructure and promotional materials.

It's definitely a nice spot for brunch and catching up with friends. The only downside for me is the noise level. I was hoping to sit down and get some work done, but it was difficult to concentrate. I really enjoy the food and would definitely come back for brunch, but I'd love it even more if the music were turned down a little.

I had the breakfast croissant, which was yummy although the honey dijon mayo didn't add much except making it drippy, shrimp bowl, which was good on paper and in taste although the veggies were laden with butter, hummus and lavash (excellent), and dulce de leche pancakes (excellent). I like how eclectic the menu is with entrees ranging from omelettes to veggie/rice bowls. I think the standout items though are the croissants/pastries and the coffee. The service, while nice, was quite slow. Overall had a good experience.

And, the salad was full of very fresh spinach, and maybe other greens, as well as a good dressing. They provided a healthy amount of shaved Parmesan, which is my favorite. I would definitely order this again if I knew I was going to be around for a while and really wanted a salad. The vibe inside is so cute. This particular location is huge and there are various types of seating available. They have Wi-Fi, which is helpful., and some of their furniture is super comfy. It is the perfect place to connect or reconnect with a friend. I have never been much of a coffee shop, girl, but I could definitely see myself coming here multiple times a week. Service was good. I didn't interact with them much because all I did was order from a little QR code at my table and they dropped it off, but when observing them interacting with other customers, they seemed nice For the size of this place and people coming in and out, it was surprisingly clean, too. I didn't check the bathrooms out, but parking outside was paid but easy.

I had to go to the counter and ask for maple syrup. Still, I would definitely never order this again. The pancakes were not only dry, but also hard. The feta avocado spread with flatbread is spicy. It doesn't say that on the menu. The flatbread is nice, but the spread is a bit too spicy for my taste. At least the staff are friendly. Again, people love this place, I don't.
