First off- Chili's is my favorite chain restaurant. Just a phenomenal menu. Every time I go to this location the service is always so fast and the food is delicious! The one time service was slow it took 45 mins for us to get our food and they comped our appetizer and dessert without my having to ask which was amazing. Over Thanksgiving 2023, we stayed overnight in Staunton while traveling home. We ate at this Chili's. Food was great and the service (at the bar) was fantastic. Couldn't have been better. Fast forward to 1/18/2023. Stopped again - looking forward to a good experience. We sat at the bar again. However, after ordering our drinks, we waited for more than 5 minutes to even see her start to make our drinks. There were two couples, and one other individual at the bar. The bartender was making no other drinks for the restaurant and was not making ours. Instead, she was talking to a couple that had already ordered and paid. We watched her with exasperation, waiting for our drinks to be made. We almost left without anything, (we honestly should have) however we did not order food, predicting how the rest of any experience would go. As soon as we finally received our drinks we asked for the check. Nothing. We both finished our drinks and still no check. We asked for a second time after we finished our drinks. Stopped in on the way home and was very pleasantly surprised! We're not sure when they changed the chef but my medium-rare steak and roasted asparagus were perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection! My husband said his Philly steak was one of the best he's ever had! The food quality was something we might have expected from a much more expensive restaurant. That i didn't order from Chili's I ordered from an "outside broker" and so there was nothing she could do. The paperwork clearly shows the doordash driver had no fault. The entire process to speak to a manager was another story. Between Kyle and the other un named hostess it seemed quite the incompetent staff. 5 stars for a chain restaurant like Chili's? You betcha. I'm generally not a fan of "bar food" types of chain restaurants, but the experience that my friends and I had here was second to none. We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday in a party of ten and the service was fast and friendly. The food is more or less what you would expect from a Chili's. But here's the kicker. Since it was my friend's birthday, the servers came by and wrote a note on a napkin to ask us what dessert he would like. When they brought out the dessert, they also had a card wishing my friend a happy birthday from the employees. Quite an experience for Chili's! read more

This is the first time I have visited this particular establishment in Staunton and I was mightily unimpressed to say the least. While the service was excellent, the food left much to be desired. The first offense was bringing out the wrong tortillas, (flour instead of corn) which in and of itself is quite minor however finding hair in a steak fajita is a major red flag. As someone who has worked in the food industry For over 3 years, serving hair in your food should be unacceptable as a chef. There are multiple avenues you can take to ensure it does not happen and I would hope the chef who prepared our food is mindful of that. read more

My wife and I decided to go here for New Years Eve because we both didn't feel like cooking after work. We were not really greeted at the door. The waitress that did greet us was bent over with something hanging out. We were sat and it took upwards of ten minutes before we even saw our server. I could see if it was busy but there were literally only 4 tables occupied. Food took forever and never came until we got up to walk out. By this point no one was even in the restaurant except for staff. I should be waited on hand and foot. Asked for the manager before leaving. Did absolutely nothing. We've never had a bad experience with Chili's till now. I would not recommend this location. Go to Applebee's in Staunton. They were way better. read more

After 11 hours driving by myself I was just looking for a beer and a salad. I watched the bartender wait on two tables and ignore me. She went back to chat with some people at the bar and that was it. I looked for other waiters, no one. I looked for a manager no one. It wasnt that busy. Heading south we stopped for dinner ~ 7:30pm on a Thursday night. Close to 81, the restaurant was fairly empty. We were seated & our drink order taken quickly by a friendly waitress. I enjoyed the Triple Berry drink - lightly fruity. We both ordered Ribeye Steaks. They came out quickly, were cooked to order & delicious - although way too big to finish. We were back on the road by 8:15pm - happy with the experience. My concern about the restaurant was the condition of both bathrooms - my husband told me the men's was dirty - he doesn't usually comment on things like that. I found the ladies to be pretty bad too. Specifically, short & long term cleaning issues - age old dirt layered along the wall baseboards, stall dividers and toilet bases. Makes you wonder about the condition of the kitchen. read more

Happy hour you can get half off on most appetizers, even the triple dipper! Their new watermelon lemonade is pretty good for those into watermelon, very refreshing. Waiter was very nice and helpful. I think the only downer was how our appetizers and meals all came out the same time. I prefer to eat the appetizers first then have the meals right after. The tables are average size so with my family's meals, it was a bit uncomfortable eating since it was all cramped up. I think my experience was good. I just think it's common sense to serve the appetizers before the main course. read more
