Chili's is a place that is in our usual dinner rotation. Yes They have great food and awesome service. I usually order the crispy chicken crispers and dip them is their amazing homemade ranch. I also order their delicious loaded mashed potatoes, and again I drown them in ranch. I have no clue what makes their ranch do good but it might be the best ranch in town. Since I couldn't find a local place on Yelp, we went for a chain for a late lunch on a cool, cloudy day. Dithered back and forth between Appleby's, Olive Garden ( for soup and salad) and Chili's. Husband ordered Chili ( menu description sounded great) and salad, while I decided on a grilled chicken / pretzel bun sandwich. Of course, we ate too many of their complimentary chips while waiting, ATMOSPHERE - after lunch rush, and music was really BLARING. They were quick to turn it down for us, so we could hear each other. SERVICE - very friendly and informed about menu .... I just hate automated systems for payment or refill orders. That is what a tip should cover. Food - husband reported a failure on the chili - average at best. The pretzel roll on my sandwich was burned - and as strange as it sounds the chicken breast was too thick to eat comfortably as a sandwich - so I probably would not order that again Bottomline - basic chain restaurant experience. My husband hates chain restaurants anyway, so we won't be hitting another Chili's anytime soon. read more

I wouldn't have tried this except the websites all said they were open until midnight and we had limited options at the late hour. The food looked terrible and tasted worse. My husband's nachos were like a meat and cheese spread on top of flimsy chips. My southwest chicken salad was iceberg lettuce soaked in too spicy dressing with tasteless chicken. On top of the bad food, we were told while waiting for the rest of our party the restaurant actually closes at 11pm on Saturdays. I give it two stars because it was clean and the beer was cold. Terrible service. The server kept telling us how busy she was and making excuses. She couldn't answer questions about menu items since she "didn't know how they made it here". She was obviously very untrained and overwhelmed. Kitchen made a mistake and the server told me that "they made the wrong thing, but didn't have time to make a new one". So she tried to give the wrong dish. The plate was disgusting with enchilada sauce everywhere. The manager was barely apologetic and would not admit to the error. It was a busy Saturday night before the holidays, but terrible service and disgusting food with an arrogant staff is inexcusable. read more

This was my 5th or so time going to a Chili's. My boyfriend and I have been to another one in Columbia and it was mediocre. This Chili's had the BEST tasting food that I have had in a while from an inexpensive restaurant. We started with a nacho appetizer, which ended up coming out late. We weren't upset at all, but the manager said it was on her and we got $8 off our bill. Our waitress was super nice and kept everything coming (drinks and such). I had a burger which was probably one of the best burgers I've had, and my boyfriend had soup/salad which he said was really good. We shared a brownie sundae for dessert which was fantastic.. my boyfriend is not a chocolate or icecream person, but he said it was the best tasting brownie he had ever had. All the food was delicious, service was fast, and the staff was super friendly. We will definitely be back to this restaurant. read more

First we sat there for 10 mins before the hostess or someone greeted us. When they cam to the front no one said anything to us. Another few mins went by, the hostess and another employee walked back and forth. Other customers came in they greeted them asap. Got them a table. Thats when I said excuse me we havr been sitting her for the longest and no one has greeted us or anything. He said sorry amd called to hostess and sat us to a table. Then we sat at the table for at least 10-15 before my sister had to go say something to the same guy from before. Finally the bartender had to help us, I guess the manager was told what happened. He cam over to apologize and said he would take care of us. Then came back to give us a free appetizer. The service from there was good. I will never go back there again. Those two employees were horrible and shouldn't work in the front with customers. read more

My husband and I drive all the way to Irmo to eat at chili's because out of the four times we've been here we've never received quality service. We often don't get refills, have to wait forever to be greeted, twice we had a food order error, and THREE times the servers didn't ring in our 2/20 specials.. we even began to wonder if the staff is told not to ring it in correctly in hopes that patrons don't notice. read more

How is this place still in business? OMG! Must be the most inconsistent restaurant in the business. I've given this establishment more than enough chances to develop some type of consistency. Went here three times. Tried to give the place the benefit of the doubt to no avail. The service is terrible; if you get your order taken it will be a while before anyone comes around with your drinks. On every occasion our orders were undercooked to the point of being raw. The staff was not friendly and took their sweet time. We arrived well before the dinner rush so it would not be busy and everyone seemed to be on an extended break. Went there tonight for dinner- the waitress was sweet and attentive- Triple Play Appetizer did not disappoint...but the entrees--- My son ordered a kid's meal- cheesy chicken pasta- that looked like can chicken had been chewed and regurgitated over some pasta with a buttery white sauce with no distinct cheese flavor what so ever. That was not eaten. My husband and I ordered 2 smokehouse plates - both with brisket 1 w/ribs 1w/bbq chicken- brisket was cold on both plates with room temp. Sauce drizzled on top- I ordered broccoli that was served raw. Sent the brisket back and 1:00 minute to the send back time more fat was delivered with brisket slivers steaming hot and "fresh broccoli". I ended up sending all my meal back as the corn was mushy and once the moldy broccoli surfaced I begin to question the entire food quality standards in the kitchen. Who is responsible for checking the food conditions? Who is responsible for checking food on the line? And who is working the pass? If moldy broccoli made its way to the customer what else has not been checked to meet standard food quality practices?The broccoli was moldy - yes moldy- the general manager, Sam , was in tonight and came to the table apologizing for the broccoli and when I confronted him about microwaving the brisket he did not deny it but instead apologized. I was a long time patron on the Harbison Chili's and this was our first and last time at the Lexington location. read more

Went to Chili's in Lexington this past Sunday to have a decent lunch with my fiancé. We've been to the one on Harbison and really enjoyed our experiences there. But the one in Lexington... never again! I've never had that bad of an experience at any restaurant in the past like I did the other day. For one, when we first sat down.. it was so obvious that the restaurant wasn't that clean overall. When we were first seated, the waitress asked us what we wanted to drink and came back a few minutes later with our tea and asked us if we were ready to order. We weren't and nicely asked her if she could give us just a few more minutes to decide. About 5-10 minutes later, she still had not come back. And she had been walking by us several times during this time. I wouldn't have minded if it had been busy, but there was only two other people there in the area we were sitting. There was a man standing near the bar who looked like the manager, so my fiancé called him over and asked if he knew where our waitress was as we had been waiting to place our order. He went to the back and a minute later the waitress came out and came over to us to take our order. She clearly had an attitude now, I'm guessing because we asked the manager where she was, as we placed our order and just snatched our menus away and walked off. One thing that irritated me, was that I had drank half of my tea, and when she came with the refill.. she only added teat to my fiancé's glass when he had barely taken two sips of tea. And walked away leaving mine half empty. Finally when mine was pretty much empty, she had to ASK me if I wanted a refill... most places automatically refill your drink while you're eating without asking you when it's obvious you could use more to drink. And while we were waiting for our food.. you could hear the cooks/waiters in the back cutting up and one girl yelled "BITCH!!" really loud for everyone in the restaurant to hear.. talk about immature and inappropriate in a work environment!!! Another thing.. my fiancé likes his burgers cooked medium rare, and he had asked the waitress if it could be cooked that way... she had no idea what he meant, and said "we only say a little pink or no pink here" when it came to how they cook their burgers. That baffled us both.. who has never heard of MEAT being cooked medium rare or medium or well done??? When our food finally came out.. it took WAY too long for how few people were in the restaurant.. my fiancé's burger was cooked very well done. Not at ALL what he asked for.. or how he was told "slightly pink" there was no pink in it. He called the manager over to our table and told him what happened. Now the manager told us all about how HE doesn't like his meat cooked with any pink in it and that's how he runs his restaurant, that he's too scared to leave much pink in it for health reasons. What's funny is that they had false advertisement.. They say on their menu, if you want the meat prepared differently, talk to your waiter/waitress. And it's also funny because the Chili's on Harbison cooked the meat the way my fiancé likes it when we've been there before, and they didn't give us any problems about it. The manager went on to tell us he could ask the chef to cook another burger with some pink in it IF that's what my fiancé wanted to do... but after how frustrating the whole experience was, my fiancé just told him not to worry about it as he didn't want to stay there any longer. He ate part of his burger just to fill his hunger, and then we were ready to leave. As we paid on the little pad at the table, the manager never took off any sort of discount for the food being wrong. That irritated me even more as other restaurants do offer some sort of discount if something is wrong with your food. And we ALWAYS tip well as we know most waiters make most of their money in tips.. but with how our waitress acted and the horrible experience we had, we didn't leave a tip.. this being the first time we've never left one. We will NEVER be back to this Chili's, and will just stick with the one on Harbison as they really KNOW what they're doing and know how to satisfy their customers. read more

Had a horrible experience tonight. Ordered 2 steaks, apps and sodas. Waitress brought out food pretty fast, steak was ordered medium rare, came out first time completely raw, sent back and came back out raw again, finally got it back and it was right, but from them cutting it to look at the inside so many times, looked like I ordered fajita strips and this was a ribeye. By this time, my side- Mac and cheese was cold and my husband was done eating. I had to box up my food to get ready to go. No apology about the steak issue, not to mention that our salad plates sat empty at the edge of the table and we almost knocked over and empty cups- super thirsty while the waitress walked by 5 times and never helped. Then took our cups and refilled with our straws in the cups- gross. Then received the check. No apology or even a small discount for the lack of steak cooking knowledge and I was ready to go home. Then I asked maybe for a little discount for the inconvenience and the manager said, " I didn't realize it upset you". Really?!?! I had one date night with my husband in a couple months and you make it where I didn't even get to eat it and had to send back 2 times. My bill was 65$. Then i sent the money with the waitress and she kept my change and never came back at all!!!! This is so rude! Who does that!!!!!! Worst experience ever and I will never return!!! read more
