We stopped at the Delavan Chili's. We haven't been there recently so we went there with visiting relatives, and were extremely disappointed. Wait staff and restaurant was okay. We ordered margaritas. They came in small rocks glasses and asked the waitress if she would fill the glass. Her response, "that's 7 oz, and that's all you get." First disappointment. What happened to the nice margarita glasses! Very poor presentation. Next my wife ordered a side of broccoli. There were 4 florets on her plate. Price$4.50. Outrageous! My friend loves going to Chilis so I meet her there for lunch sometimes. As soon as you walk in the door The smell of rotting old sour mix from all the margaritas they make hits you right in the face. It's a bad dirty smell. I'm very sensitive to smells. The host sat us in the bar area, and we ate our lunch. The food was good. I ordered a combo appetizer. On my way to use the restroom I passed the servers station you can't help but look in, because it is wide open with a huge mess for everyone to see. I think that may be where some of the smell comes from. I get to the restroom and again not happy with the condition it was in. This restaurant is always busy with extra tourist vacationing, so maybe that's why it's not kept up. Professional cleaners need to be hired overnight to get that restaurant in order. The Casamigos Margarita is on point, and the crunchy chicken tenders that were Nashville Hot hit the spot. The house salad was workmanlike but fresh and even the Mexican corn that came with the appetizer plate was pretty good for winter corn. This place has gone downhill in the last couple months. It was doing wonderful before for a long time. My husband and I have been to this location numerous times over the last 15 years for both lunch and dinner and I don't think we will be back. The female manager is so loud and very inappropriate and unprofessional and there's a younger female server who's working almost every time we come there Christina who has a very mean girl bully attitude towards other people who work there. You can hear rude or inappropriate conversations from them all the way from the computers in their kitchen. I hope this can be resolved because we really used to love Chili's. read more

Visited this Chili's location yesterday on the way back home from a weekend in Lake Geneva. The food was not good. The service was not good. So first the host only gave us 2 menus for 3 adults. I went back up to the host stand and asked for another one and was told they could only give 1 menu per 2 people. Completely understandable but you should mention that when seating people so they know. Plus the menus had NO prices. Not anywhere on the menu did anything have any price. The server was not very friendly and it seemed like we were always bothering her when we needed anything. She would ask if we needed something and wouldn't wait to listen if we needed more than one thing before walking away. She never brought the ranch we requested for the chips and salsa even though we reminded her we didn't get it. She didn't offer salt, ketchup, nothing. We had to ask for every single item and she would just get the one thing and then come back and we would have to ask for another thing we needed. The food wasn't great either. I ordered SPICY shrimp tacos. The tacos were not spicy at all. There was no heat to them whatsoever. My aunt's broccoli was cold. I would just like to preface this review by saying that the group that I dined with tonight was made up entirely by teenage girls. Although our overall experience with our waiter and food was great, my group ran into several challenges with the host. Although we did come in later (8pm) we finished our meal by nine, and decided to sit and chat for a few minutes. The restaurant didn't close until 10, we figured staying after paying for around 15 minutes would be fine. Behind us, near the bar, we could hear this host loudly and rudely complaining and yelling to our server about our group and a couple, sitting at the bar, saying "You ordered, ate, and payed for your food, now get out. We close soon." Again, he said this so rudely and so loudly that most of the people eating near the bar would easily have heard this. All of the people dining with me have had or are currently working in high-end food service, and hearing these comments really appalled us all. My friend then went to use the restroom, and this host rudely commented on her walking, asking "are you okay" in a rude and strange tone, which really left a negative impression on her. Finally when leaving, just after hearing his remarks on patrons not immediately leaving after paying, this host immediately checked, with a very bright flashlight, to see if we had touched the door's glass at all. Our group also clearly heard this host say "finally", regarding my group leaving the restraint in an extremely rude and unprofessional tone. This was very strange, considering we were literally three feet away from the restaurants doors. Because the restaurant was still open, and we had just ate and payed, my friends and I were talking in my car. We had gotten on the topic of oil changes, and as I realized I had not changed my oil in some time, my friend had decided to check my oil. The host then quickly left the restaurant and ran over to my car, standing directly next to my friend, asking "are you having any trouble?" We responded "no", and because we're were all quickly made extremely uncomfortable I responded "my dad is driving over to help, he'll be here in a few minutes", hoping the host would leave. He did not. He when asked and rudely assumed we did not know how to check my car's oil, and even physically touched and moved my friend away from my car. He would not leave until my oil was checked, and then immediately left as soon as my car pulled out of the parking lot. I'm being completely honest when I say this: I seriously a thought that there was a chance he would follow my car home. This host had a rude, creepy, and extremely off-putting personality. I'm sure that he only came to our car and rudely spoke about our group in front of us because we were a group of teen girls, the majority of us clearly being minors. Our server, after being yelled at and complained to by the host handled that situation extremity smoothly and professionally. We complained to the server, explaining that all the times we had gotten them before, the filling was nice and hot. His response was, "Oh well, at least you're not paying for it, right?" - The chicken in the Quesadilla Salad was rock hard, practically inedible. - Lastly, the kiosk wouldn't let me redeem the "free appetizer" coupon. The manager did at least take off the cost of the appetizer *and* meal (and that is the ONLY reason I'm not giving one star), but by then the damage was done. So as a chain this place sometimes gets an average rap but I like showing up here with my hubby cause where else can you get a meal with appetizer and two entrees for $20. This is the best deal ever. Our go to selection is the guacamole appetizer followed by 2 orders of fajitas (pork and chicken mixed) which arrive with all the sides including more guacamole. Yes we LOVE avocados. I've had the baby back ribs (half rack), the 6 oz sirloin and the quesadillas. All good for the value price. And my new favorite is the soda fountain menu which includes way more than just 6 selections. You can get pretty much any coke product regular or diet with flavorings. This Chili's location has truly gone down hill. The last two times I visited it was very cold inside, and the food had poor presentation. I always order the chicken bacon ranch quesadillas, when they arrived they were just flopped onto the plate. Have been going to this Chili's since 2006 usually because it's the only restaurant open late where you can get a drink. We have been served french fries that were terrible, sent them back and they just refried them. It's one of the worst Chili's compared to others I have been to all over the country. They are the only chain restaurant of this type in the area (I wish Lake Geneva had a Chili's or Applebee's) and have a captive audience for their grease spotted menus, not so clean kitchen (I always look back there on the way to the bathroom) and poor service. My husband and I keep telling each other we'll never go back, but we went the Monday following Christmas around 9pm. We waited by the front for about 10 minutes. We could see several open tables, and no else was waiting for a table. When the server came up to us we were heading for the door. My husband said to her that we were just about to leave.
