It all started with an empty waiting area but no Chilis to seat us for five minutes. I saw an employee walk by but they didn't seat us immediately despite there not being a line. When we were finally seated, the waiter took our drink orders and didn't return for at least ten minutes until he came to take our food orders. We ordered the classic nachos with chicken, although the chicken seemed to be missing. I didn't receive a notification about a chicken shortage around here so I don't understand why that was missing. Although the waiter excused the error, the full price of the chicken nachos was still on our bill at the end of the night. In my opinion, the waiter should be better trained in what's available on the menu. My youngest daughter wanted the caramel molten cake that she has enjoyed in the past, but when the waiter left to put our order in, it took another 15 minutes for him to come back and tell us it wasn't available anymore. This whole time my daughter was excited while we assumed her dessert was being made, but it was just a delay in disappointment. I never would have thought a Chili's location would get a one star from me, I have had such good experiences in other cities, and yet Danbury did not provide. I do not think we will ever return to this location... who knows if Chili's still has our loyalty. read more

I can already see from the most recent feedbacks that I'm not the only one unhappy with this place. The people who work there are obviously unhappy with their life cause I can see that with how they treat their customers. Recently ordered through the phone app and the guy at the To-Go pick up counter is obviously not liking his life. He brought my order 20min later than expected and he didn't even acknowledge it. Of course when we got home the order was missing a couple of item. So I had to go back to get the rest of the missing items. So mr sunshine at the pick up counter looks even annoyed that I came back, and couldn't believe that he was missing a couple of items (mind you that this is not the first time I have ordered there, and this is not the first time they missed an item here and there). He was insistent that he got everything in there. I told him that it was missing the chips and salsa, and some fries. He insisted they there were fries in there, and he remembered putting a set of fries with the order and there was only one fries ordered. Gladly I showed him the receipt that showed that fries were in a couple of orders. So he brought out the chips and this small container of fries. Mind you this is the side for an adult meal and there was literally a handful of fries in there. I mean this was pathetic amount of fries. So I went to another person in the restaurant who looked like he was the manager of the place, and he didn't care much less that I was unhappy. Needless to say, this place is a pathetic place and do not recommend them. They probably should have went out of business a long time ago. With the number of new restaurants opening up around the place, I'm sure they will be. When that day comes I definitely will not miss the place. read more

The wait staff is great, at least most of them. But this past year the menu has become inflexible. If you order the 2 for $25, or the 3 for $10, or anything at all for that matter, and you want to add something or change something to make it more to your taste, all you get from the waiter is that they can't make alterations, even though the customer would gladly pay the up charge. Ridiculous! Why not get the full size cheese fries on the 2 for $25 menu instead of the half size, and pay the $4 extra if that's what you want? Or why not substitute the chicken fajitas for the steak and pay the $5 or so more? It's a win win but not in this stores book. It used to be my favorite place, now I rarely go. . It's a Chili's. You know what to expect. Until someone pukes right next to your table. And the staff decides that letting the floor marinate in upchuck for a few minutes is the best way to go. Sure, paper towels are thrown atop the vomitous trail, but it's undeniable : someone just PUKED next to your TABLE. It's not Chili's fault, probably. Probably. And they PUKED... right as your chips and chunky corn guacamole is being served. The cognitive dissonance between your meal and what can be found on the floor a few feet from you is too much to handle. You think about kittens and dive in. Finally, a manager comes over to mop the remnants of the technicolor yawn. "It might be a little slippery, folks," he warns us. Thanks manager. You've done the right thing. Gross bathroom, filthy restaurant and burnt chicken wings. GROSS!!! Their bathroom was dirtier than the worst gas stations i have ever seen. There was a weird door by the bar that was cut in half. I could see the kitchen littered with empty boxes and trash. And finally we ordered smoked wings that were out in the grill and brunt on one side. Wont see us in Danbury again. As a food service worker I tend to give leeway in favor of the staff and restaurant because I work the other side of the table. So understand that the 2 stars is lenient for the experience I and another patron endured. I ordered online, came in at the time confirmed, and was welcomed by an eerily empty, overstaffed, frantic scene of frantic waitstaff. I waited 3p minutes before anyone even cashed me out (this is after roughly 5 individuals came over and asked if I'd "been helped," but never actually helped). Then the woman who cashed me out walked away without handing over any food. I then had to wave down a host and ask if the bag that had been sitting on the counter throughout this transaction was indeed mine. After digging around and interrogating me, he said no and walked away. Another 15 minutes pass and the manager comes over with another bag. I ask if that's mine, to which he says no. Turns out the now cold food that's been out on the counter is mine. Oh- and there have been exchanges and alterations made without any approval on my behalf, to which the manager shrugs and walks away. I feel worse for the man sitting there for over an hour and a half for his wife's pasta. Apparently the manager tried to force him to take my food at first, and now he has been subjected to a timeout chair waiting for his actual order. When does it take 2 hours to make pasta on a Tuesday night? Looking for tex-mex? There's a Taco Bell across the street. At least you'll get hot food and better customer service. read more

Everybody's been to a Chili's at least four times in their lives. It's got to be a law of the universe. For those of you under rocks, they serve Tex-Mex inspired food that's great for curing hangovers, feeding the munchies, or just general anytime eating. There was one incident where the waitress and manager didn't recognize a coupon from Chili's official Facebook page (or that Chili's had a Facebook page), but the manager, in the end, did the right thing and happily accepted it. My friends & I alternate who chooses where we go, and one of us likes this place, but I've experienced spotty service, too many screaming baby's, and occasionally BAD food. Our last trip was a perfect example. I ordered the Quesadilla Explosion Salad & a seltzer with lemon. The waiter cringes as explains that the Danbury CT Chili's does NOT CARRY LEMONS. We all look at him with confused expressions, and he explains that because of the fires in California... the manager of THIS location has decided that lemons are just too expensive to offer to customers in any form. OK, I order my drink with a lime. My salad arrives, and my first forkful unearths a huge piece of a plastic bag, with a "CHILI'S SALAD" label attached. When I eventually track down our waiter, he cringes with a "Not again!" and apologizes, getting me a new salad, and takes the salad off our bill. I thank him profusely and ask for a second seltzer & lime. EVENTUALLY the drink comes, with no lime. I ask him for a lime, and he promises to get it. We don't see him again until it's time to pay the bill. There are TWENTY other restaurants within 200 yards of this place. We'll go somewhere else from now on. read more

Got my order wrong more in one shot than all the orders gone wrong in my life put together. I ordered two sets of crispers and fries with corn(not specified on the corn but it comes with it) and a extra order of fries. First they come out with two fries and I tell him i need the two crisper orders as well and the extra fry. Then they come out with one set of crispers which I didn't notice were burnt to s*** till I bring it home. I tell them another crisper and another fry. Then they come out with my second crisper but.... no fry. Then they come out with my fry and ring me up for half my meal. As I'm bagging my stuff I'm thinking ohh they must have comped me because they screwed up too many times and they go ohh yeah we gotta charge you for the other half of the meal. I ordered through door dash and I got everything I ordered however my steak was over cooked. I was craving a juicy steak all day and unfortunately I picked the wrong place because I ordered it medium rare and it came well done. It was super chewy and not juicy at all. Spent $50 super disappointed. I guess it's worth it to eat out so if they over cook your steak you can send it back for a new one. I'm assuming there will be no recourse here. Also I ordered nachos and they were not presented nicely and there was hardly any cheese on them, very disappointing. read more

This is a successful company people and of course there is going to be a wait! In fact anywhere you go that is decent you will be waiting for a table!! Call ahead like you are supposed to and wait your turn or go later in the evening. Food is fine here. The menu is consistent, and the service is decent. 2. Oh no not a napkin or two on the ground! This is the worst Chili's I've ever been to. We showed up at 5:00 on a Friday and there were only 2 other customers in the restaurant, which should have been a red flag. We were seated in the tiniest possible table next to the only other people there in a back corner of the restaurant. Every other party that came in was also seated in this obscure corner of the restaurant, making for a very uncomfortable experience. The second we sat down the waitress was asking if we were ready to order. Um no? She asked 3 more times within the first several minutes of us sitting down--why?? It was like they were trying to rush us out of there when we had just arrived. There was no room on the table to even put down our plates (because the table was so small) so the server just stood there looking at us, expecting us to hold the plates. Maybe you can put some of it up on the ledge behind you, she suggested. No? It was no surprise that the food was awful. The chicken was disgusting and slimy. The queso tasted like it had just come out of a microwave. We went to use our coupon for free queso and of course I didn't work and the manager had to do it manually. Overall just a bad experience. Just OK. The place looks fine. Consistent with other Chili's in other towns. Wasn't too busy, but there seemed to be confusion around who was responsible for seating arriving Customers. It also seemed longer than it should to be acknowledged by anyone after being seated. Eventually a person who was not a Server took my drink order. Now it was at least 10 minutes before a Server took a dinner order, and another 25 to receive it. Cajun Pasta with chicken. I could tell by the dried sauce that the order was ready earlier, but must have sat under a heat lamp for a while. Taste was great though. Wish I had yelped before we went! We were staying at the Hampton Inn (shares a parking lot) and got in kind of late. We typically prefer non-chain restaurants, and this place quickly reminded me of why. The service was friendly, and prompt, but we waited a LONG time for our food. Value was off the charts- two dinners for $20 with an app is pretty awesome, but it came at a price. When the food arrived, my fries were cold (not whiny, they weren't warm, they were cold) and my wife's rice that came with her fish was also cold. The black bean burger was ok, and they did a good job following my diet restriction requests, which I appreciated.
