Amazing. I technically went twice in one week - once for takeout and once dining in. The kaprow chicken is DELICIOUS. The chicken satay, gyoza, tofu fresh rolls are all delicious too. The thai lemonade is dessert in a glass. Service is great dining in. They are so friendly. Picking up takeout at night is a little weird if you dont know the plaza. Its tucked away in the back in the pitch black behind Duck Soup. read more

We had takeout from Chili Basil for the first time. Easy to order either online or by phone as we did. Ready quickly, order correct. And the food is great: - fresh rolls are fresh with flexible soft wrappers, shrimp and salad - green curry chicken is truly spicy with a good balance of chicken and vegetables - duck choo chee is excellent with lots of crispy boneless meat read more

Quaint thai restaurant set off of rt20 in Sudbury. We were there on a rainy Saturday night and the only ones in the restaurant at 6:30pm. Friendly staff. We got crab rangoon (fabulous) and spring rolls (lacked flavor) for main dishes got the chicken drunken noodles ( noodles were a little more cooked than i would like but flavor was very good and just enough heat to tickle your lips) chicken pad see ew (also very flavorful) good portion sizes. Will definitely be back. read more

Came back to try this place again given the good experience many years ago. Unfortunately, we had such a disappointing meal tonight -- it was awful, not to mention expensive. All of the food was old and stale. The green curry sauce was like water, there was no taste at all to the drunken noodles, and the edamame was aged to the point where it was turning yellow. We got a literal half-thimble-full of sauce for the spring rolls. The steamed rice didn't even fill the container and was old and crusty. I'll stop there, but we will never be back. I'm surprised at all the recent high reviews. read more

Excellent Thai food! So happy this place exists!!! We got the chicken wings, drunken noodles, and sticky mango rice and they were all delicious. Can't wait to try more dishes. read more

Pretty much inedible. the "scallion pancakes" are raw dumplings. the mango paradise was covered in unlisted mushrooms, which neither of us eats. the curry sauce was so watery and without depth. the boiled chicken pieces in both dishes was chewy and tasteless. one and done, so disappointing. read more

I'm not sure what happened to this place but it used to be very good. The food is bland, the chicken quality is subpar and the food is just greasy to the point of being inedible. Will not order again. read more

I arrived at 12:30 on a Wednesday and was welcomed by a very friendly girl who served me my Wonton soup and a super yummy plate of PadThai. I loved it! Food was made fresh and quick. The ambiance is really nice, small cozy family restaurant in a busy plaza. I will be back! Ps photo of a half eaten dish- yum! read more

Chili Basil Thai - Pad Thai Noodles Lunch - Thai Near Me - Sudbury, Massachusetts

Massaman curry was like yellow water. really no taste. Not ordering again. Drunken noodles was ok.

I really like eating pad thai. I did not like the pad thai from Chili Basil which had a vinegar flavor and a thick whitish sauce which I have never seen in any pad thai before. They must have developed their own recipe. I'm not a fan. The dish I ordered featured chicken and shrimp which was nice since many places offer chicken and shrimp for an up charge. That said, CB's pad thai is more expensive than other places by about $3 I've been to recently. read more

I ordered the Green Curry with Shrimp meal with white rice. It was absolutely delicious and exactly what I was craving. The meal was beautiful to look at, and the aroma was intoxicating. I also picked up my order in the proper time designated. read more

I knew when I opened the rice that this meal would be bad: the rice was grey, not fresh white like it should be. I had ordered yellow curry with tofu. The tofu had clearly been sitting for a long time because it was rubbery with hard edges. This was on a Saturday night when volume should mean that everything is very fresh. The sauce, typically the highlight of a yellow curry for me, was bland even though it looked right from a color perspective. I enjoy Thai food regularly but I will never, ever order food from this restaurant again. read more

Love these guys. They good is always VERY hit and tasty. Often get multiple apps as I enjoy them most.

Only giving a second star based on my memories of having some great meals here in the past. Last nights take out has to be the worst Thai food I've ever had. Got crispy chicken Pad Thai. The chicken had been cooked hours ago and reheated which made it dry. Not to mention that it was crappy quality chicken to begin with. And the marinade was sicky sweet. No vegetables in the noodles. Unless you count scallions as a veggie. The sauce was very sweet and very sour. No notes of salty or bitter. He got Drunken Noodles Beef. Very little sauce on the dish. Yet super oily. Lacking in flavor as well - barely any heat. The take out bag only had our 2 containers of food. No silverware. No napkins. No condiments. With tax the tab was $30. Expensive crap. read more

Everything is old. Vegetables are not fresh. Chicken was not fresh. Rice was soggy and had the brown stuff that comes from the bottom of the rice cooker. Crab Rangoon and Thai iced tea are good. But otherwise, consistently not fresh. read more

Went back to try again after being disappointed a few years ago. Not any better. Salmon was dry, thin, and overcooked. Vegetables in the dish were hard and not cooked. read more

Great friendly service, they all know me by name. Good food. Reasonable prices. I go back every week for take out.

I ordered last week and was highly disappointed. The curry dish had barely any chicken, maybe 5-6 pieces and a sad representation of veggies. It was unbelievable. We couldn't believe this cost $16 for what we received as a portion. For just two people, it wasn't enough food and was mostly sauce. The pad thai was overly wet and much too sweet. We couldn't eat it. I don't how they are sustaining a business. Fortunately, there are other choices around town not too far away. read more

I was desperately craving Thai food and not happy with some of the options, so I searched on Yelp and found this gem. Not only was the food excellent, but the delivery was fast & delivery person came wearing a mask. They left the food on the table I left in front of the door. The pad Thai was the yummiest I have had in a while & the chicken wings were crispy & tender. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. It's my new go-to place. read more

Only been once for takeout so maybe we hit a bad night. But the food was mediocre at best. The pad Thai was very heavy on the sweet and sour flavors. Everything tasted like it had been reheated, and my wife commented that we could have made better at home. read more

Got to-go food: Scallions Pancake: Very oily, not so good. Crispy Chicken Basil: we had ordered crispy chicken pad thai, they instead gave just this gravy based item: we really liked it... we are glad they messed up the order. Basil Chicken fried rice: was just okay (apparently they make this well as per my sister). read more

It was an off non busy hour when I went so service was nice and fast. I gotten thai iced tea for a drink, and probably the best one I've had recently. For the meal I ordered Tom Yum noodles with seafood. The amount of seafood was plenty (shrimps, scallops and calamari ) but I wish there were a bit more noodles. The Tom yum soup was superb. It was just the right mix of spicy and sour. I usually like it spicier but this was ok. Good place and would like to try other items on the menu next time I'm in the area. read more

Chili Basil Thai - Tom Yum noodle soup with Thai iced tea. The noodle dish was bomb. - Thai Near Me - Sudbury, Massachusetts

This place was great. The decor is a nice blend of dark wood and colorful wall decorations. Great quiet place to bring a date. We ordered the sampler and pork satay appetizers and I liked everything that came to the table. The taste was a good reminder of what I like in a Thai restaurant but differentiated itself enough to bring me back. For the meal I asked for 3 star chicken yellow curry but it came out as a 1 star, not very spicy. However that was easily remedied with the on table chili to spice things up to my liking. There was plenty more chicken in my dish then I usually get at other restaurants which made my meat buds happy. read more

The lay out of the dining area is really cool! There is an upper level to sit at as well as window seats. The decor is classy and modern. The service is very accommodating to dietary restrictions. I've been here a handful of times and is one of my favorite Thai places in the area. Their pad Thai isn't dry like a lot of places and their veggie selection is crisp and fresh. read more

Chili Basil Thai - Spring rolls - Thai Near Me - Sudbury, Massachusetts

Would have only given one star but I did return the food and they refunded the entire meal no questions asked. No apology either but whatever. Went straight to Oishii Too across the parking lot. Perfection every time. Here's what I got at Chili Basil Thai - 3 things for take out. Pad Thai which is the most basic of Thai dishes was watery, mushy and not fresh. Actually had to spit it out. Tasted like bad leftovers reheated. The Tom yum soup also a basic Thai offering was not hot in temperature at all (I live around the corner so commute was 1-2 minutes) and disgusting tasting like overly spicy dishwater and last was the papaya salad which I had never ordered but thought I'd try-what a mistake. A small chunk of old iceberg lettuce on one side of the container the other side had a small pile of shredded - I don't know what - with a couple of old green beans. The most pathetic looking salad I have ever seen. Tasted like they pulled some things out of a pickle jar. It was horrendous. There was nothing that even resembled a papaya. We will not be back here. Oh well. Thank God I'm moving out of Sudbury, the restaurants here suck except for the 2 Japanese restaurants in town. I'll miss you Oishii Too! read more

Ordered takeout. When I went to pick it up at appropriate time, nobody greeted me at the counter for about 5 min. Then they told me they were still working on it. Seemed understaffed and overwhelmed. When got home, noticed that we got the wrong curry dish. And the side of rice that we ordered had that brown gunk that you sometimes see at the bottom of your rice cooker. Overall pretty awful experience. read more

We came with a party of ten and they served us quickly and the food was excellent. A great find.

Delivery speed has improved significantly over the last few years. Food quality is inconsistent for some dishes, but consistently good on others (like the bi bim bap and papaya salad). We found a few dishes they do well and generally stick to those. read more

Sadly, the takeout was mediocre at best, and I say that as a person who ordered and ate while drinking homemade margaritas with another tired mom. Papaya salad was the hottest I've ever had and I have an extremely high heat tolerance, and I guess I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing but keep that in mind. The spring rolls were bland and flavorless; would've like to see basil in there instead of just iceberg lettuce. The pad Thai was truly unremarkable and a little too sweet. If you are hungry it will do, if you want excellent or even good Thai food this is not going to be the place. read more

I've gone to Chili Basil for years and it's been my family's go to Thai takeout spot in the area. I have frequented them so often that the staff knows my order before I even walk through the door. I would highly recommend this place for takeout or dine in if you are in the mood for delicious Thai food. I have tried a variety of the dishes on the menu and the flavor and quality of ingredients never fails to satisfy me. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the Sudbury area and is a must visit. read more

Just got take out and it tastes like NOTHING. I read the other reviews that said similar things but I ate in once and I thought it tasted normal, nothing special but not bad. However, it seems that their take out is a whole different game. It literally tastes of nothing...no hint of flavor or anything...!! read more

I considered whether to give my review one star or two based to my experience. It doesn't matter how good the food is when something like this happens. I had lunch at Chili Basil today. I've never dined here before and I wanted to try their Pad Thai as it's received four and five star reviews by other Yelpers. I will agree that it was very good. The sauce was flavorful and the amount of chicken and shrimp that accompanied the dish was decent. The waitress was attentive and didn't hover. If I based my review on just these aspects, I would give them four stars. Unfortunately, this is where the positive part of my review ends. Prior to leaving the restaurant, I used the ladies room. There was a dead adult cockroach on the floor. I've managed a restaurant in the past and I know what a cockroach looks like. I picked it up with a tissue and brought it to the attention of the cook, who was a young Thai woman. I told her that I wasn't looking for a free meal and that I'll never go back there again. She just looked at me and nodded and I then left the restaurant. It's a shame that this occurred because I would have liked to have tried other menu items but I won't return to a restaurant that has a pest issue this is out in the open like this. read more

Summary: Don't go here if you know what Thai food should taste like. Food was either very sweet or very spicy, and lukewarm or spots of hot and cold. Service was ok. This was not an enjoyable experience. I would rather go hungry than eat there again. To start we ordered Tom Yum and Tom Kha Gai soups. The Tom Yum was tepid and sweet with barely a hint of spiciness. The Tom Kha Gai was so sweet that it was more of a dessert soup than anything. One person got a Shirley Temple, which they said tasted like Sprite with red color, and had no grenadine flavor. For mains: Pad Thai - again with the cloying sweetness, and minimal flavor. It was like rice noodles with sugar sauce and peanuts. Larb-Kai salad - this actually had some heat to it! About a 4/5 on spiciness, decent flavor. Not sure how well it was cooked, seemed right on the edge of undercooked. Tofu noodle dish - temperature was hot in some spots and cold in others, like it was microwaved and not stirred. Cashew nut stir fry - another way too sweet meal. We didn't bother with dessert. read more

We came here for dinner last week. Honestly I wasn't expecting that much. We have our super "real" Thai places and then we have the fakies inbetween with the same old curries and such. This is not a fakie Thai restaurant. In fact, judging from the other reviews from here and other sites, I expected a mix of different asian foods, but only found Thai, which was exciting and slightly disappointing at the same time. This place was fast, fresh and light. I had the grilled sea bass and my at-the-time boyfriend got the Duck Choo Chee (we both get the duck dish all the time at new Thai places, so it made sense to get it to compare it to others) The butterfly and chicken satay appetizers were delicious as well. Try the ginger lemon tea with your meal :) It even comes with a rock candy sugar swirl stick hehehe. It was cheap and yummy! It's a little bit hidden, but what a find! read more
