My husband and I are big fans of Chilleros! Our favorites are the tacos and the Tostados. Only thing I would change is the take-out packaging. Bothers me every time I pick up a load of Styrofoam and plastic in a giant plastic bag. I'm hoping one day they change to something naturally biodegradable. read more

Tried Chilero Mexican Restaurant today. Referred to me by a friend. In Kenwood, Hard to find, moved in to the old KFC building on Kenwood Road. Blink and you'll miss it. But you will be disappointed you missed it. Excellent real Mexican food - everything so fresh and everyone so friendly. The lady behind the counter is amazing!!! There are only 4 tables so eat there or carry out but please try it. I had the red sauce chicken enchiladas - delicious!! I took over half of mine home. read more

What a great little carry-out joint (or there are a couple tables). I've only HHS's the tacos ($2.75 each) but they tase so fresh and as if much care has been put into them. They make fresh masa tortillas everyday! And excellent tilapia ceviche for $4.95!!! I didn't know you could get ceviche anywhere Ohio! The chimichangas were freshly fried and covered in avocado. After several recommendations, we tried this place out and ordered carryout on a slow night. Although everything was accounted for on their end prior to us leaving, we got home and realized we were still missing a few tacos so we had to go back. Customer service was great, but the tacos were okay - nothing special. To me, they lacked flavor and the meat in them was minimal. We love tacos and we really wanted to love this new spot, but we will likely continue to frequent our favorite Mexican fare on Madison Rd. If you're not a taco snob like me, Chilero may be for you. Today I can to this small restaurant stand here kenwood it's a small place to accommodate people but they are fast service, awesome greeting , menu small but delicious tacos I tried a regular chicken taco first bite I was shock how authentic it was especially the Tex mex steak tacos I ate. I recommend everyone to come check this place out and I would come back with friends and family try it out as well. Most definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu. Tacos are super tasty! The burritos are insanely huge and very filling. They run daily specials like 4 tacos and a drink for about $11. The parking lot is kind of hard to pull into but once you find the place you'll figure it out for future visits. Honestly everything is really really good!! the salsas could use a little more flavor, but hey they are free! This place is simply fantastic. While it's deemed a carry out place, the owner will let you hang at a table and enjoy his food. Everything here is crazy fresh and so delicious! Made from scratch sauces and some of the most savory meat ever! I always try to his their special of the day, but his tacos are just irresistible. You def need more than one! My family and I came here to have dinner and I'm so glad we did! The service was excellent and the food was so tasty! We ordered the tacos, traditional style, and a burrito. Visited this past Saturday, September 7 and loved their food. The chicken quesadilla I ordered was fresh, hot and so delicious. The food is good - very limited uncomfortable seating - basically a takeout place- the food is actually served in a takeout container. There is a board AND a menu - so be sure to look at the menu - limited beverage selection- needs to add iced tea to the selection- also needs to add an entree salad - I think their goal is to be a takeout restaurant- counter service only. read more

When the place opened I as excited because its the only restaurant on my way from Ky to my place of wok without having to leave the interstate or drive blocks away to grab dinner. I stopped in, it took about 30 min to receive my order of 2 tacos. I was the only customer at the time. But, the food was good. For the next few days I left for work early to have time to stop by. On my 4th visit, I waited about 25 min for 2 tacos and a burrito. I asked for 3 mild sauces (they are very good), and the man at the counter (Owner I think) scolded me in front of the 4 other customers waiting (2 of which were coworkers I had recommended the place to). He threatened (not informed me) that If he were to give me 3 mild sauces that he would be forced to charge me extra. I would have paid extra. The are good and I like them. He told me I only needed 2 because they were 2 ounces in each cup. So, I took my 2 mild sauces and went to work. I work in a lab, and the cups seemed sparsely filled. About 0.7 oz per cup, not 2. Just as well because that day the mild sauce was hotter than a Habenero!. The experience of being chastised like that in front of anyone, let alone coworkers was humiliating. Now at work when people go to the cafeteria they ask me if I want them to bring back extra sauce. Funny. I eat every meal out and never cook at home (bad, I know). I liked the food there but won't stop again. I would estimate he lost 5 sales a week from me, and I make sure to tell others about my experience. If you choose to go there, he should have plenty of sauce, because he isn't selling any more to me! By the way, turns out that the food was fairly bland without the sauce.
