Then one day (while out working) I passed this lil' gem and a few days later with my GF & her mom we went for lunch. I was actually blown away at how clean, comfortable and friendly this place is. The food is absolutely delicious, extremely fresh and they do not skimp, water down or cut corners. I even placed an order of pozole for Xmas eve dinner. Not only did I get a heaping portion of pozole for 5, the order came with sides of shredded lettuce, chopped onion & radish, bag of tostadas and cups with oregano and chili. Even got to talk to the cook and got a big Christmas hug! I absolutely LOVE this place and would recommend it to anyone and everyone! P.S. the norteno burrito is epic! Try it! read more

Finally, a good Mexican restaurant in Lititz. I stopped in for lunch on a whim and I'm really glad I did. They have a nice choice of lunch specials. I got the lunch chicken fajitas and really enjoyed them. I'm currently on a restricted diet and they were very accommodating in meeting my needs. I love authentic Mexican food and have been dying to check this place out since last year when we attended Fire & Ice so I insisted to hubby that no matter how long the wait for a table, we had to eat here when we got to town. We got to the restaurant around 7 and I was surprised to find that the wait was only about 15 minutes. Within 10 minutes we were seated at a table in the front dining area which was thankfully away from the door but unfortunately there was no escaping the frigid temps every time a new customer entered but the chill was well worth it. We were immediately served complimentary chips and salsa (one of of my favorite parts about Mexican restaurants), their salsa was amazing with just enough fresh cilantro, I could have eaten 3 bowls of that salsa for sure. Hubby got the Chorizo Burrito for dinner and I went with one of their platters- Pastor Taco and Chicken Taco and a Sope served with rice and beans on the side. Everything was absolutely delicious, the pork in the Pastor taco was tender and marinated to perfection as was the chicken; the Sope was just ok, the edges were a bit too hard so I just ate the center. This place has a bar you can eat at (byob) and in addition to the dining area in the front there is more seating in the back. The staff was all so warm and friendly and in total our dinner was just over $20 and we were stuffed. Looking forward to going back to Lititz in the spring and this time we'll check out some of their lunch specials. read more

Sadly, I never made it to Pork and Wally's, but I did visit Chilangos shortly after it opened. It is a more authentic style Mexican restaurant that offers good food at inexpensive costs. While I've only ever been here once, I did eat across the menu fairly well. I tried their tacos, huaraches, sopes and more -all with different meats. Everything was good, but the Huaraches Al Pastor was my favorite. I would categorize this place as a good lunch destination. It isn't quite dinner worthy by my standards, but if you are looking to put away some Mexican cuisine, this is the best spot in Lititz to do so (by default). It's hard to say if Chilangos fits in or not, but I can say they've held a steady business since opening. It could be the hype of something new, but with this being the only Mexican place in the area (aside from generic chains) they have a pretty good shot at hanging in there. If you are a Lititz local or a frequenter of the area, I recommend you stop by and check'em out. However, if this is your first time to Lititz there are some other places nearby that you may better enjoy. read more

Authentic hardly describes this restaurant. I found the flavors of everything I ordered to be bland and could compare the food taste and quality to what you might find in a hospital cafeteria. The restaurant may be quaint and the service friendly, but the food is definite pass unless you're in the area and have an overwhelming urge for Mexican food, despite it being a pale representation of any Mexican food I've had and called "good." read more

My husband and I have visited Lititz many times and we were visiting for a 2nd Friday. We decided to visit Chilangos because of its high yelp reviews. We were not disappointed! We lived in Mexico City for two years so we have high expectations when "Authentic" is in the restaurant name. The service was friendly and attentive. We ordered Jamaica and Mexican coke. Both reminded us of Mexico. It was hard to chose from all the yummy food options! We ordered combos so we could try many different things: enchiladas, tamales and tacos (chorizo, pastor, beef). Well, this place was a very pleasant surprise. I grew up around Lititz, but moved to California 20 years ago. Suffice it to say I generally have pretty low expectations when it comes to Mexican food in the borough. When my aunt said let's get Mexican the other day, I was resigned to getting indifferently served Old El Paso tacos and Pace Picante sauce on the side. And to be honest, when we got there and I realized it was set up in the old ice cream shop on Broad, I was pretty sure it was going to be a meal about the company, not the food. Then I saw the sign and the name of the place. "They're not messing around, I hope they can back it up," I said to my Aunt as I explained to her what exactly 'chilango' means. Then I saw the menu. Sopes? Tortas? Wait, what. Al pastor? Lengua?? "They're writing a pretty big check here," I said to my other Aunt, who was fixated on getting something with a flour tortilla for some reason. Nah, I tried to explain, you want corn... but she wasn't listening. The truth is in the simple things, so I got tacos. They're done the right way here, on soft corn tortillas: just the meat, with cilantro and some onions. The al pastor (pineapple pork, probably not as sweet as you think), carne asada, and chorizo were all on point; the lengua... well, the lengua is really good. Done right. You don't find that too often in SoCal, let alone in South Central Pennsylvania. Took a bite of my uncle's sopes (great!) and my aunt was blown away by her burrito (a NorCal style one with rice, I forget the name on the menu). My other aunt got her flour tortilla on with a quesodilla, which she liked alot. I'd totally recommend this place. It's casual, they don't have a liquor license, and their systems are a little shambolic, but there's nothing wrong with any of that. We got what we ordered in a good amount of time. The people are friendly and it actually is authentic chilango/DF/CDMX food. So yeah. The company was great. The food was great too. Enjoy life. Regret nothing. I have found in Lititz, PA the chicken chimichanga to measure all other chicken chimichangas by from now on! Absolutely delicious dinner with my wife here at Chilangos for the first time. The chimichanga wasn't on the menu but they made it for me anyway and I am so glad they did. It is the best I have ever had. My wife and I both liked the white queso and salsa with the free chips before dinner. Service was excellent and fast! If you like Mexican food and are in the area, definitely give this place a try! read more

After reading such rave reviews, we were very disappointed. Service was a struggle (delays in getting sat and in service) and food was nothing special - seriously lacking in spice. It does seem authentic, just not very good. I'd recommend heading to La Borimex in Ephrata or towards Philly (El Burrito Restaurant in Phoenixville is awesome) for something else. read more

Great little place right next to the former Wilbur Chocolate Factory building. Servers were very pleasant and we were seated quickly. The back seating area was nice but a bit on the warm side even with the A/C and fans. Great selection to choose from. Very nice authentic Mexican establishment. At first glance I thought I was walking into a coffee house but if you go upstairs there is a quaint dining room - decorated beautifully and very clean. With that being said space is limited, the tables were very close to the booths. As a party of three (including one toddler) I felt like we didn't have ample room. I don't know how a larger person or party of more people could comfortably dine here. I struggled with the menu a bit, not really having an urge for anything listed. I would have loved to see some tamales on the menu and more al la carte items to mix and match. But service was prompt and friendly - a bit hard to understand at times - but we were very pleased with the timing of our meals. Prices were fair and we found a coupon in the Clipper which prompted us to check them out. Our food was fresh and contained genuine Mexican cheese. While I had leftovers, my husband wasn't satisfied after his meal, some of mine, and the leftover kids meal. For dinner the portion size is a little light and better suited for lunch. Street parking was touch and go. They are located in downtown Lititz where parking is metered or private. We were able to secure a (tight) street spot nearby but I could see that being a real struggle depending on when you came. My husband and I just left this joint and drove from Lancaster because of yelp reviews we was looking for authentic street tacos, the reviews sounded good, but what a huge disappointment. Tacos,beans and rice didn't have much flavor. We could have been happy with this, but the service was horrible, we had to ask for menu, then silverware, I had to get up twice and found the so called waitress, first we needed ice for tea, refill on salsa,(which is excellent), second time for the check. The waitress name is Liese so avoid her! It was no one to oversee a waitress sitting and rolling silverware. Hubby got the chicken enchiladas with a mild chili sauce and I ordered the seasoned pork burrito especial with the hot sauces on the side (since I wasn't dining in but knew that I loved their hot sauce). The fresh guacamole...oh my word! So very fresh and green! Super mild (could have used some kick with some chili or jalapeño peppers for my liking) but perfect for my "nothing spicy" husband. We ordered a coke, and were served coke classic in a can , epic fail. (You need to serve Mexican coke!!) The food, good, but just average. I WILL return for a second try. Five if us (2 adults, 3 older teens) came here on a Friday night to celebrate our daughter's birthday at her request. I wasn't sure what to expect (Lititz, average looking exterior), but we were all really pleased. Service was prompt, very helpful & pleasant. I ordered the mixed meat fajitas and had plenty to take home for lunch the next day, while my 16-year-old son cleaned up his fajitas. Others got the chicken enchiladas and and tacos and enjoyed them. As a very nice touch, our waitress brought out some fried ice cream with a candle in it for my daughter's birthday, surprising us all. The restaurant is BYOB. While there is a bar next-door it has pretty basic offerings so come prepared if you want adult beverages. Atmosphere is pretty basic and casual but there's a nice deck in the back if the weather is good. Will come back again the next time we're in the mood for Mexican. read more

I joined a friend for early dinner. The chips and salsa were free so I will not comment on them. Waitress recommended Chimichangas, so we both ordered them. I had tenderloin and my friend had shrimp. Upcharge for shrimp. I would say average on mine. Skimpy on meat and not a lot of flavor unless you drown with red or green sauce. Flan was house made and tasty but burnt bottoms. 50 cents for fountain refill was new to me but they're not charging $3.00 to begin with so OK. Place was very hot and the service was not. read more
