This restaurant makes the WORST Peruvian food I have ever eaten! My favorite cuisine is Peruvian, I cook all the food from there, tried many good places in Qweens,Manhattan and long islands,so we took a road trip to this place. First there is hard to find parking. Than the dingy restaurant with dirty tables and sticky salt/paper and condiments bottles. The menu is small print,hard to read and confusing silly pictures on it. We ordered fried calamari,that was a most edible thing, fried rice made with old looking leftover rice very bland, Wonton soup with not so fresh tasting thin sliced beef and chicken meat,the wonton was ok in it, Chap Suey or pasta dish was a sloppy mess made with cheap,food colored yellow pasta,and a meat looked like cat food from the can. We had to send it back! The Chicha Morada drink was diluted, flavorless sour concoction. Not recommended,and never go back to that place! read more

My family has been coming to Jade Garden for years. its a Chinese Peruvian restaurant. We really enjoy the food and the food always comes out fast. We always order a bunch of plates & share family style. At times we come in a big group of 15 with no reservations and they accommodate to us with no issues. Ok guys, this is your diner, dives, and in type of place. It's good eats, but unfortunately you have to experience new dishes and explore to maximize experience here. I would go family style, order a few dishes to eat and share amongst your party. My go to is arroz chaufa, tallarin salteado, pollo cinco sabores, tortilla de camaron, and chancho de Tamarindo. What the hell happened to the lomein???? They used to make the best lomein. It was simple and flavorful, and they gave you a lot. But they changed it. It's completely different, and it's frigging awful now!!! It's so oily, and the noodles are just plain disgusting! Please, go back to the way you used to make it. Growing up i used to dine in here a lot with my family but my recent visit wasn't great. Immediately after i walked in the staff were gathered around a table in the middle of the dining area portioning dumplings and working with raw meat. I brushed it off but the service was absolutely terrible. The waitress was rude and was not attentive at all. I had to call out for two different people for the check because my original waitress was too busy portioning dumplings the next table over. The workers there made me and my family feel very unwelcome. The food has definitely gone down in quality unfortunately. I hope this place has a comeback because it does have some great roots and their wonton soup was truly one of a kind. If you're looking to try it would recommend the take out option. read more

Service is always great, the staff is friendly and very attentive, ambiance is not up to date but it will do, they can take large party groups. The food is phenomenal for being a Peruvian Chinese Cuisine Restaurant. Their chaufa is the best around. Try the Chancho con Tamarindo too. read more

This is probably the best Chinese (Chifa) Peruvian restaurant in New Jersey. Food is very satisfying. Always busy. Prices are reasonable.

This still seems more like a glorified Chinese takeout joint than anything. Sure there are some distinctly Peruvian things on the menu, like lomo saltado, but they didn't even have aji sauce! I think it was recently expanded, but it still reminds me of a school cafeteria. Tried the tallarin saltado, arroz chaufa, Jade Garden house special wonton soup, and lomo saltado. They were pretty average. Tallarin saltado was essentially house special lo mein at any Chinese takeout joint, arroz chaufa was yeung chow fried rice, and the house special wonton soup was wonton soup with some egg noodles, pork, and duck. Lomo saltado was the only thing we ordered that you couldn't find at an average Chinese takeout place. It's also pretty expensive for what you're getting. read more

Come with a few people so you can try multiple dishes. Parking can be a nightmare. Vegetarian options available. I've been going here for my whole life haven't eaten inside since I was like 8yo. But this place has such good Chinese/Peruvian food. Wasn't a bad place, but for a local restaurant that says it has Peruvian Chinese food, it wasn't phenomenal. I got the stir-fried noodles. They were ok but they were very greasy. I got to try some of their pork ribs, and those were good. They ran out of chicha, was kind of disappointed about that. Place seems relatively clean. Good price for 4 people, about 40 bucks. I don't usually write negative reviews about places, but I'd be remiss if I didn't for this place because sadly enough, I found the 'Peruvian" cuisine to be missing in all of the dishes we ordered! The spanish menu was traditional in the name of dishes without a doubt but once ordered and after seeing the english menu they brought my husband and son, I was eerily weary of what was coming because that menu read like each typical Chinese menu in Chinese take-outs EVERYWHERE! Although I am not Peruvian, I love Peruvian food and have a favorite place which is amazing. Now while I get that this is supposed to be a FUSION of the two - Chinese & Peruvian, like I said - It was JUST Chinese! You can't name a dish "Chaufa" and serve House Special fried rice! You can't name a dish "Tallarine saltado" and serve house special LoMein! And you CAN'T serve "Jalea" (seafood mix deep fired) and NOT serve the traditional sauces - Aji Amarillo Sauce and when I ask for it, offer me hellman's mayonnaise packets and creamy italian dressing AND THEN have the nerve to ask me where I've eaten jalea before because its different there....different where? "la comio en Peru? porque aqui es diferente."....No I didn't eat it in Peru, I've had it here in many different restaurants and they've all had the sauce. The ONLY thing latin served with the food was the typical red onions, tomato and cilantro medley with lime juice. LOVE THIS PLACE! My parents started coming here since I was a little girl. It reminded them of foods from back home in Peru. It isn't the fanciest place inside or out but those kinds of places are always the one that have the best tasting foods. Their prices are also amazing, everyone loves a good deal. I've come here several times and by that I mean at least once a month. They present themselves as a "chifa" restaurant which is basically Peruvian/Chinese fusion cuisine but if you compare it to actual chifa restaurants it's not. The food is really good though. A little salty, just as any Chinese food, but the flavor is very consistent. Prices are great if you go with a big family and each person can order different plates and everyone can share because they serve you that much. I haven't try all of their dishes, but their soups, gallina enrollada, pollo tipakay, tellarin saltado, wanton ( of course) Jazmin tea are very tasty. They have expanded and have a second room which only opens on the weekends. It can be crowded but the service is really fast so you can be in and out in 30-40 min. Can't complain about parking because we are always lucky enough to find a sport right outside the restaurant. This place is great for big families with kids. And no, they don't speak Peruvian as someone mentioned it in another review. They speak SPANISH. And yes, it is better to know what you want to order previous to call because they are very busy and don't have time to explain all the dishes. I love coming to this place. I think it is the best Chifa restaurant in the tristate area. The food is very consistent and it always tastes the same. I love their chicha morada. It is so tasty and rich. The wonton in their wonton soup is delicious. So soft and tender. Their tallarin saltado and arroz chaufa are so good! As many state, it's "Peruvian Chinese" food, NOT your mediocre Chinese fast food! The food here is definitely better tasting, more authentic, larger portions, and yes, you definitely need to try the "Sopa Mixta Wantan!" It has plenty of Chinese cabbage, sliced pork, scallions, tender wontons and bite size pieces of duck! The wontons have this delicious sesame & ginger taste! Awesome! I recommend the "Pato al Ajo" (Garlic Duck) if you dare! I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because of the "not so appealing" area it's located at. When you get here, you'll see exactly what I mean. This place is a greasefest and their food has little taste--they rely on the grease to put taste back in, but it doesn't work. I had arroz chaufa here and it was basically unedible. It left me hating arroz chaufa, which I've been eating for 40 years...and then I went to another Peruvian restaurant nearby in Paterson (not a chaufa!) but got the chaufa and was like "Look this is how it's supposed to taste...it's supposed to have taste and not simply dripping grease everywhere!"
