I have State Farm and my policy doesn't cover windshields so I was happy to find a repair company that is AFFORDABLE and MOBILE! I'm a former project manager business owner, so I ask a LOT of questions and want to know everything about products and services I buy - Cole answered my barrage of questions with great knowledge, detail, and a customer service attitude that I felt completely confident comfortable choosing Key Coast Glass over the other companies I researched/talked to. He showed up on time, in a clean shirt (uniform) that identified him as a glass technician, was well groomed and seemed genuinely happy to have me as a customer. He performed the work quickly and with dextrous skill. He explained the process of what he did and why I made the right choice to repair it because waiting may have resulting in losing the entire windshield (more $$). He was done in minutes and guarantees his work! Nice! My neighbor had her car broken into and her entire window is missing, he can do that and other auto work. He's an all around 'car guy' who is HONEST - a great resource to have for auto work/questions!! He told me that most comprehensive insurance policies pay for the repair/replacement (unfortunately not mine - sad face). Oh...and did I mention that he's MOBILE??? Universe heard my chagrin and sent me a not so nice little rock that hit my windshield and made me discover the fascinating world of either repairing or changing the glass. I was very upset during the whole weekend because I think if I had known better, the damage could have been repaired, but everything was closed and the weather was hot...so my crack increased in size and so my impatience to fix the situation. I went this morning at Pit Stop in Carmel Mt but left as there was no one in site (another yelper later on told me that the guys at Pit Stop have a day job and they come here when done). Ok, called second one in my Yelp list closed to me, so this is the way I heard of Champion Auto Glass. The quote offered by Randy was way cheaper than the one that my insurance was giving, so no way. He was very pleasant during our phone conversation and also the guys that came to actually change my glass during my work time came as expected. Although frustrated that Farmers was practically making me use their car repair facilities (that is if I wanted my car fixed sooner rather than later) I am thankful that I ended up going with Carmel Valley Collision. I chose Carmel Valley Collision for three reasons: 1) it was close to my work, 2) I yelped them and their reviews were better than the other companies (even the supposed 5* companies Farmer's offered), and 3) when I called about possibly bringing my car in, as soon as I mentioned it was a VW Jetta, the owner (who answered the phone) told me that he had worked on several Jettas which automatically made me feel more comfortable that they knew my type of car and how to fix it. Brian was my contact at Carmel Valley Collision and he was extra helpful. He came out as soon as I drove up, he even knew who I was. He checked out my vehicle, listened to my concerns and reassured me that I would get my car back the way it was before my accident (if not better - and I must admit, it looks better). Brian called me on an almost daily basis (as I requested) for updates on my vehicle. He e-mailed me pictures of the underneath damage and also sent me the estimate via e-mail for my records. He was also very friendly and customer service oriented. Carmel Valley Collision was aware of my needs and time frame that I wanted my vehicle back, but also aware of making sure that my vehicle was in perfect condition before letting me take it home. The good thing is that they also guarantee their work for as long as I own it. I did notice that my back reverse light on my driver side wasn't working (thanks to VW's smart system) which is hooked to my trunk which they just repaired. I called Brian and he had me stop by and he replaced it right then and there with no problems - it took less than 3 minutes and I was on my way. Brian also called me a few days after I had picked up my car to make sure everything was still running and looking smoothly. Another car was there so he worked with both at the same time. The service was fast. I think it was like 20 minutes. I only had a small chip, but the rock didn't do as much damage and didn't penetrate it through far enough. He simply just put something there so that the small thin lines don't crack and spread and filled in the half way chip in. The chip looks the same, I mean its not completely gone or anything. It's still there, but at least it wont spread/crack more which is fine with me. He did let me know if the crack spreads or anything, to come back and he'll fix it. He was pretty chill. To find this location, well, it was hard. The only way I found him was because there was reserved parking with a green sign. The little building/house doesn't have a sign or anything but I think he said he was working on it since he did have some but they got messed up. Its literally right in the entrance to your left. I was getting quotes from other locations and they charge like $69 and would probably do the same job as this guy. This guy charges $40.00 so I got a pretty good deal. I would recommend this place. Its cheaper and its the same type of repair as the others.
