It had been about 12 years since I had to replace the windshield on my 4Runner. I'd been wanting to as it was very pitted with several small chips, but then a rock on the freeway gave me the large crack I'd been so secretly desiring. Everyone I interacted with was very prompt, professional and responsive and we were able to schedule an appointment the next day. (needed to get the part) When I got there, I was greated by Mark himself who informed me that I was going to get serviced by the owner today. Off to a good start. A few minutes after leaving to get a bite to eat while they worked, I got a call. Apparently the last time it was replaced, the job wasn't done right and Mark wanted to show me the damage. Clearly, the windshield hadn't been sealed right and there was a good amount of rust and corrosion. They offered to fix it all for me, including rust proofing and priming the metal, but they'd need to keep it overnight. At this point I was grateful to have someone take the time to do the job right. A less scrupulous business could have popped a new windshield right back on, and I never would have know the difference. Just got back from picking up the car, and the work looked pristine. When it came time to pay the tab, I was expecting a potential additional charge for the additional work they had done. No such up-sell, they honored the original quote and earned a loyal customer. Way to go above and beyond and offer solid pricing to boot. Now I'm going to refer others here with great confidence. read more

My USAA insurance directs me to Safelight. I ask for a quote. No quote and appointment made without my knowledge or consent for $849.99 for their brand of glass, includes "recalibration of safety features@. Both J&K Automotive & Bob Stall Chevrolet recommended Mark's Auto Glass Service. Called and got next day appointment. Over $300 less for same spec glass and no need to recalibrate, but could've if needed. They are qualified to do so. The friendly woman who answered my call was able to schedule an appointment for total replacement the next day with an estimate half the price of a leading national chain. The gentleman was on time for the appointment and was able to replace the windshield at my home within the 45 minute estimated timeframe. He was meticulous, clean, and professional with everything he did. The glass used is high quality and my car left clean. I've dealt with the national chain for repair before and Mark's is competitive, local which I like to support, and much more prompt. I know who I will be calling for any further auto glass issues. I had a crack down the center of my sunroof glass and could not get anywhere with three dealerships. It's a specialty part so they couldn't do it and most glass replacements only do windshields or side windows. Finally called Mark's based on one of the referrals through my dealership. Took my car in yesterday. My back drivers side window was shattered from vandalism I called a few companies they were by far the most reasonable in price and worked me in that same day. I was offered appointments several days out by other companies so after calling at about noon the wonderful receptionist immediately ordered my new window and gave me an appointment for 3:30 that same afternoon. The entire office showed great customer service a genuine care for my situation and gave my the greatest experience after the most awful experience with the brake in of my car. They were quick and efficient the window turned out great they did a fabulous job on the clean up from all the broken glass I drove away feeling completely happy with my experience and no traces of the damage left behind . I would highly recommend the services and will definitely use them again. I had a crack in my windshield and found out it needed to be replaced. Called and personally talked to Mark and gave him my address and he agreed to come out and take a look at my car at 11am. I waited until about 11:45am and still no sign of him, so I called his office and he answered and I said, Yeah, I have been waiting since 11am, did you still plan on coming? No apology, just some lame excuse as to why he wasn't there yet and he said, Yeah, you live in La Mesa right? I am on my way, click.... 5 minutes later some gal calls me and says, Yeah, Mark doesn't have your address, guess he misplaced it, and I need to send it to him right now. I asked her how long they have been in business? She replies 30 years, I said, you know what, this is a red flag for me, tell him I no longer need his services!! How unprofessional can you get?? He makes the appt with me, leaves me waiting 45 minutes and then I have to hunt him down. No text saying, I am running a little late, etc, My time is valuable too!! Totally unacceptable!!! read more

I was going to surprise my father-in-law for Father's Day by fixing his windshield, as he was adamant it could last like that for another couple years. I didn't want him driving around like that. I called and explained my situation to April and she was happy to help. She quoted me a great price and I called back a few weeks later. She remembered me. While on the phone with April she realized she may have misquoted me by not adding in some fee. After apologizing she let me know they would be absorbing the cost of the fee since it wasn't part of the original quote. I greatly appreciated that gesture. The team was out at the house the next day, about 30 mins late but gave a phone call to let me know they were running late. No big deal on my end. I had set aside 2 hours for the whole thing.
