I usually go thru Safelite for windshield replacements because of how convenient the mobile service is but they didn't have any available appointments for today & I was quoted $475 to replace my windshield. I yelped Windshield Replacement in the San Diego area just to see what's out there & i'm SO glad that I called Chief Auto Glass (& it was totally meant to be that Nick had my car's windshield in his van at the time I called!!!) Nick (the owner) was really nice, super helpful & was very accommodating to replace my windshield literally 2 hours after I called! When Nick arrived at my house, from start to finish... it took literally 15 minutes. Other windshield shops I called said that it would take 1-1.5 hours for the whole process & you know how busy life is, there's just not enough time to just sit and wait around. Came in to replace my windshield and they ripped my entire headliner when taking off the glass, they tried to not tell me about it and they did not want to fix the issue when I pointed it out. instead they offered $50 off the price which I was furious about because it costs more than the windshield to replace the headliner, very unprofessional and tried to upsell me because there was a tiny rust line where the windshield sits, I do not recommend this buisness at all, go to real professionals, these guys don't care about quality, and they left glass all over the inside of my truck and didn't do any cleaning up. read more

Thank you Chief Auto Glass! I was shopping around and was quoted a lot of $280-$350 for a lot of windshield replacement. My windshield had a crack on passenger top side and didn't even notice it until possibly weeks have gone by that I noticed a crack. Measured it and it was longer than a dollar bill so there's no way I can purchase a windshield repair kit and fill in resin in that. Nick answered and provided me the lowest price and conveniently around my area. A+ for them open on a Saturday! Repair: Nick came by and provided a good quality I'd say OEM Glass, about identical to my previous windshield. Nick noticed that I needed a new molding on the top and was able to replace it. He was able to get me a new window the same day we spoke, and was able to be tinted as well. I believe he is mobile if you need him to replace a window for you and your unable to go to his shop. They're quick, they do a great job and they even asked us if we needed any parking stickers off the old windshield (which we probably would have forgotten on our own). It was 11:30 am Saturday morning, when I got into my car and noticed something on the driver's side windshield of my 2018 Mustang. I got out of the car & immediately saw that something had struck the edge of the glass and there was a crack from the edge to the center of the glass. $949 for a windshield? Shame on me for not asking for a quote beforehand. Sloppy work. Large gaps in the upper molding. Antenna grommet destroyed. Install guy blamed issues on everything but himself.
