These guys are really great! I choose them based on other Yelper reviews and was not disappointed. Recently went for an inspection - only took 20 minutes - and I'll be back soon for an oil change. Not sure if I'd trust them with Subaru-specific repairs, but was pleased with the professionalism and friendliness of the employees here. read more

I really like the people that work there. After a series of issues that kept causing me to return again and again, I confess that I began to lose faith: but Nate and his steadfast team were responsive to my concerns. On the night before Thanksgiving they dropped everything to make sure my car was in safe driving condition. I am deeply appreciative. read more

Stopped in here to get gas and air for my tires. After filling up, I went in to ask about the air pump, expecting to just be pointed in the right direction. Instead, they had me bring my car around while they got me change for the machine, then getting the pump started and filling my tires for me. Such a refreshing, helpful level of service -- just wanted to post a note about how impressed I was with them. Made my day. :) read more

These guys are the best! Since I've moved to MA in 2012 they have completed all the work I have needed done on my 2008 Jeep Wrangler . They do all my safety inspections, oil changes, I needed new brake pads and even the heating core in my Jeep went and they fixed it quicker and for a much more reasonable price than what I was expecting. They even recommended someone else to go to the one time I asked about something they would have to up-charge me for because they didn't handle it in house. I fully trust them to be honest and efficient with any of my automobile needs! If you need maintenance or even just gas definitely check them out! Thanks guys! read more

After 2 quotes from Kia dealers, I ended up at Chico's Station to fix my Sorento alternator. The aftermarket alternator and the labor prices were the best. I left it overnight. It was finished by 11:30 the next day. Obviously, I'm extremely happy with them. Also, if you don't want to get out of the car, Chico's, still has full-service gas pumps. read more

I pulled in with a car sick child and the staff here was so kind. I've never felt such loyalty to a gas station.

Great service. I needed an oil change and needed to replace my whole passenger door. Spoke with Nate and he got everything done within a few hours at a low cost. I will continue going to this mechanic shop. Definitely recommend this place. read more

Outstanding service every time. Honest and trustworthy. I highly recommend! They have gone above and beyond to make sure my car was done when promised. read more

You are looking at a natural born skeptic ... from auto repairmen to foreign cab drivers I walk through the world thinking anyone that can rip you off will. HOWEVER, I have to say that Chico's completely floored me in this department. Nate was INCREDIBLY friendly. He got me a brand new tire and an inspection sticker in lik 5 hours ... other people quoted me days. Nate was friendly, honest and just the kind of guy you feel good about the entire experience. Literally he made my day yesterday and I've been feeling pretty good ever since. I work over on Sherman Street and live in Arlington and can honestly say that Chico's is now my new place for any and all things that come up with my car. Thanks Nate!!! read more

My old buick had a big issue with engine skipping and would not go over 40 without it feeling like it was gonna die!!! Dropped it off at 7am and they had it diagnosed in a few hours and fixed before I got out of work . Repair cost is fair but even better they fixed the right thing and my car is happy thus I am happy . Yubba Dubba Doooo!!! read more

My kid just went to this gas station (Sunday around 10am). Rudest guy ever --- apparently called my kid an idiot because the credit card did not work and by the way the credit card worked at the next gas station! Owners take note and do not hire such rude people. read more

Saddens me to assign one star, but I must. I'd taken my vehicles to this station for several years. Always had a great experience and outcome with Wally as my mechanic. But, last summer when I returned to pick up my car post-service, the attendant at the register was incredibly disrespectful towards me (and this was not the first time). I politely confronted him and asked that he demonstrate respect towards me as a customer. Well, he responded in an incredibly animated, hostile manner. Perhaps one of the most needlessly aggressive, unfortunate customer service experiences ever. I've not been back since. Why am I writing about this now? My car required service yesterday and I did not feel comfortable returning to the station. I did, however, find another station that was outstanding (I'll give the establishment a 5-star review shortly). Pleased to report that the outcome was excellent -- from fixing the issues efficiently at a fair price -- to demonstrating basic respect. read more

I recently used his service again for tires for another car I own. Yes, he's still the best. Thus, I still have many reasons to use his great service again. Highly highly recommend Nate's great, honest, and fast service at a great price! read more

In this business, it is rare to find a shop that is a) convenient; b) friendly; c) honest; and d) competent. Chico's Sunoco is all of the above. Nate and Wally do it by knowing their customers and knowing their customers' vehicles. Wary of Fresh Pond Mobil and having been burned by Mass Ave Gulf (Junior is a nice guy but sometime made some costly mistakes for me), I started getting inspections done at Chico's and found that they did not search for a way to charge me for something I didn't need. When they found work that needed to be done, they thought about the least painful way to get it done and let me in on their cost-benefit analysis. They will know your names and your cars and quote reasonable prices for quality work which they will stand behind. Get another quote and it Chico's will be in the ballpark or less. If you want aftermarket parts to save money, they will use those but will also order the factory parts if you want too. They are very busy but almost always seem to finish up their work in a day. I wouldn't necessarily trust my high end vehicle with these guys, but for your Toyotas, Hondas, Fords, GMs, Nissans, I think they offer good value . I only wish Nate didn't smoke in the shop. read more

The ratings are real folks....5 star service. Took my car in for an inspection at 7:45am, which is before the scheduled open time of 8 for inspections, and he took my car in and had me on my way before 8. Very polite workers. I would not hesitate to take my car there for service. read more

I have always had great experiences here! They are honest and fair, do excellent work and will patiently explain things if you don't understand. Walid (Waleed?) or "Wally" stayed late to fix extra things for me for FREE and gave me his cell phone number if I needed to reach him. I see some other reviewers have been very put off by the (admittedly pretty grouchy) cashier. BUT the overall customer service and quality is so good that tolerating a very brief interaction with him in order to pay for your service is WELL worth it. That man is obviously someone's older relative who is helping out. Highly recommend!! read more

Do not go here to get your car serviced! I got my brakes done in January and the mechanics bent the backing plate behind the rotors and I was left with a seriously horrific noise for months. I then went to get it fixed and was met with animosity by the owner and serious sexist comments. Terrible. read more

These guys are good. Very honest and will not rip you off. Talk to Nate, he's a very friendly mechanic (possibly manager too) who is very attentive and provides very good customer service. If you have a used car out of warranty, I highly recommend this place in the Cambridge area. Not many things more valuable for a car owner than a nice, reliable, friendly mechanic. read more

I don't know about you, but I don't usually leave a car repair shop smiling and feeling relieved. Well, I left Chico's with my car running smoothly and feeling like I was treated fairly and with respect. I had my last car inspected here when I first moved to Mass last year. For reasons that I cannot explain, I didn't return when I needed to have work done until I had been ripped off at Cambridge Honda and let down over at Aladdin. My car was overheating and had a leak in the cooling system. They replaced the leaky radiator and while they were at it looked over a handful of other concerns that I had about the car for no extra charge. I told Nate that I was concerned about the clutch, the AC wasn't quite working right, and I wanted him to check the idle. He actually took the time to look at all these things and instead of making an easy buck, he was completely honest and told me that I didn't really have much to worry about. The clutch was fine - the floor mat had just gotten shoved up underneath it too far and that was causing shifting to be a little rough. The idle was within the normal range. And the AC, (which you can read a manifesto about if you see my review on Cambridge Honda), can probably be fixed for 2- or $300 and doesn't need a new compressor for $1000 like I had been told elsewhere. These guys are great, and I'll definitely be returning the next time my car needs some TLC. read more

Wally is awesome and so trustworthy and helpful. He is so cooperative and I feel like I've left my car in good hands when I leave it there. I'm thinking about selling my car, because I just don't really need one in this city, but it makes me sort of sad that I won't need to go anymore...even some hefty repairs (new clutch etc) didn't seem as bad as I thought when they were fixed at Chico's. read more

The staff here are so friendly and accommodating, Every time I visit they are prompt and courteous. I often stop in for oil changes unannounced and they find a way to squeeze me in. Highly recommended. read more

My car was sideswiped - when parked - and a rear view mirror was broken. Wally and the other guys did a beautiful job - the panels look look like new. They even cleaned the interior and fixed another inward dent near the damaged panel for me. Great work - Thanks, Chico's Sunoco! read more

Been to this station for tire work and for an inspection. When I had an issue with my inspection (on an issue I suspected) they stayed late to take care of it. Each time their pricing has seemed fair and honest. I don't feel like I'm coming in for something and then leave with a $600 bill and surprise work done on my car like at some other places. read more

Got my car inspected at Chico's yesterday and I was in and out in 5 minutes. He didn't hassle me about getting this or that other thing done. Just an inspection, paid at the cashier, OUT. read more

They are so friendly. Got my tire change there last months. The service is fast and they helped order the exact tire in 3 days. The labor charge here is slightly lower than charging in VW (Original Manufacturer). I pass by today for tire check again, and they remembered me. They even check the engine battery for me and everything is done in an professional way. Also, they wont push you to change anything if it is unnecessary. For example, i also ask there advice on changing windshield or not; the guy advice me not to change since it is not necessary. Awesome place for your car check. Way better service than in any manufacturer. read more

Like plenty of other people I know, dealing with car issues can be very intimidating... honest, nice, and reliable are not terms I frequently associate with mechanics. However, Chico's is a gem. Nate and Wally are some of the nicest guys I've ever met. They've provided our family with years of reliable, honest service. We recently moved out of state and really miss having them as our neighborhood mechanics... it was a pleasure doing business with them on many different cars, over many years. They know the name of my kids and my dog, they'd ask about my family. They always stopped to say hi when I filled up with gas. The crew at Chico's works hard and provides the kind of "small town" service that's sometimes hard to find in the city. read more

Both Wally and Nate are great. They are super honest, and their prices are very fair. I was getting ripped off at another garage before I switched to Chico's. They have been servicing my cars for about 3 years now, and consequently my sisters' cars as well. I highly recommend them! read more

I went here this afternoon for an auto inspection. These guys are really very nice, friendly and helpful -- quick service and efficient. Here's the kicker -- I asked the service man for advice on repairing a license plate mount. He took a quick look, went and got a bolt, and fixed it on the spot, no charge. Awesome. Two thumbs up from me. read more

We've been taking our cars to Wally & Nate for several years now and we've been very happy with the service. They always get back to me within a few hours with a diagnosis and cost estimate; usually the work is done the same day but sometimes a part is not immediately available. read more

I come here all the time for 3,000 mile service/ oil change etc... and my yearly inspection. The guys are very friendly and I never feel they are trying to get me to do work that is unneccessary. I definitely would send my friends and family here to get work done on their vehicles. read more

Chico's Sunoco has provided trustworthy and high-quality service for our cars for years. Their excellence in all things automotive boils down to one simple (or not-so-simple) thing: excellent people. Nate is a true professional; knowledgable, personable, and precise. We always appreciate his accurate assessments of what's needed, what it will cost, and how long it will take. Wally and the rest of the team are equally pleasant to do business with, and don't make assumptions as to one's level of automotive knowledge-- they explain things clearly and respectfully, and answer questions without condescension. Chico's: High-quality people, highly recommended. read more

This is not a review on their service (so please disregard the rating) but an FYI: The Chico's Sunoco and Fresh Pond Mobil a block away are run by the same people. The other day I made a mistake of getting an estimate from FPM and going over to Chico's a week later for another opinion. I didn't ask but they should probably have told me. I'm not sure if I overpaid (comparison shopping takes time) or they did a poor job (only time will tell). Apparently I was mistaken but I'm not retracting my comment because I believe it's a meaningful information. Here is a response from Nate I've received: This is Nate from Chico's Sunoco.. I read your review on FPM and Chico's Sunoco's Yelp site. I need to clarify that even though Elie and I are brothers, the businesses are separate. Ownership is NOT the same. I would appreciate it if you would retract that review. I'm leaving on vacation for 3 weeks this Sunday, please call me if there are any concerns. read more

Yes they are very friendly and social, and I thought I finally found the ultimate shop. But they messed up, big time. Over the years I've had 2 expensive repairs done (besides small stuff that they do pretty well), that turned out to be a total waste of money. - Timing belt replacement, it was installed in a way that it's rubbing on one side against a sharp cornered metal piece. Had to be redone or risk the costs of a major engine head/piston overhaul. - Shock replacement, while they were at it, they wanted to replace the drive shaft on one side because the CV was leaking grease. They installed a wrong axle, causing new leaks and wasting a much higher quality OEM axle on which the CV boot could have been replaced but that's rather time consuming. - Buffing one of the headlights (slightly foggy) without asking first. I did not pay for this but they damaged the body paint around it. - Over torquing lug nuts, which is dangerous. Bolts could loosen up or snap. I assume they don't work with torque specs at all if you don't even properly torque down an important part like a wheel. - Exhaust repair, it was too expensive for me at the time to replace the catalytic-converter, so they suggested to replace it with a straight pipe. Cheap but illegal! - They make a big point about using quality replacement parts. It is really frustrating to find out afterwards that they don't. I'm not a mechanic so how do I know the technical stuff? Because the repaired parts started to fail again after a year or so and I studied hard on car forums to make sure my new mechanic was not just talking crap about other mechanics. I understand not everything that they do is bad, someone else can have a totally different experience than me. But to me all those plaques on walls don't mean a thing anymore. Richard read more

Friendly staff, quick service, fair prices... my family and several friends are loyal to Chico's, for good reason!

I get hives everytime I need to deal with mechanics and such. I have no idea if they are totally ripping me off or taking me for a ride, so when it came time to get my exhaust fixed I shopped around and these guys were not only the cheapest but the nicest. I was shown exactly what the problem was, it was explained to me in terms I could understand, and I knew exactly how much it was going to cost before they started doing the work. All this and they are really quick too! read more

Love them. Agree 100% that the mechanics at Chico's Sunoco do not condescend to their customers. I brought my car in for inspection and the mechanic who took the keys from me came walking in to say "are you possibly due for an oil change?" I blanched a bit, how could they know?!?!?, and admitted that I likely was due... "No problem, it'll be a few extra minutes". No lecture, no scolding, no guilt trips... he just took care of it and was completely honest that it only took a couple extra minutes! I go to these guys for every oil change, inspection and little car question that comes my way. read more
