Spent $68 on three chicken tender meals and find out after that a meal doesn't even include a drink?? Not worth the price!

Service was fantastic - our waiter was personable and helpful, all of our food/drinks were served quickly and water glasses were never empty. For cocktails, I started with the Monte Carlo, which I enjoyed but was also impressed by their non-alcoholic menu. For an appetizer, we split the focaccia which was outstanding - 10/10 would do again. On a recommendation, I decided to go with the mushroom pasta for my main and it was good but not extraordinary and the added chicken was a little dry. My dining mate had the short rib and said it was delicious. We were too full so we skipped dessert but they had some interesting options, including after dinner drinks. Next time!

The 2nd time was awful, they had a big party downstairs and basically had to apologize for ignoring the rest of the tables. I literally took forever to get food and service due to a large part downstairs but apparently it backed up the kitchen. Well, I had an AWFUL birthday dinner here last night. The server was awful, the food was awful, the experience was so sub par. Not a single person at our table enjoyed their experience. Starting off with a party of 5 being sat at a small round table for 4. The staff brought a bread basket and didn't even know where to put it...we had no room at all on the table squished in with 5 plates and glasses. We ordered the charcuterie board and it was so pathetic. 2 pieces of salami and what looked like olive loaf. After asking the server finally explained what everything was as when we asked for another piece or 2 of salami (because it truly was the only edible looking meat) he said he would have to charge us. We ran out of bread quickly and asked for another few pieces since we had a kid with us and service was taking forever. The waiter said sorry I'll have to charge you for that. Other than the French onion soup, I'm not sure anybody enjoyed their main dish. An Asian ham special that was cloyingly sweet, a pasta dish that wasn't great... We get a dessert menu and I'm so excited for a post dinner coffee! I order a salted caramel latte from the desert menu and am told they don't do lattes or cappuccinos at night? The machines are off. All we can do is a shot of espresso. Then why is it coffee on the dessert menu??? At this point we were over it. We left with no dessert on my birthday and went to Kroger and got a small cake. Do yourself a favor and go down a few doors down to Rudy's Prime for a good meal...

We walked in without reservations and we're seated right away. We got our drinks and apps fairly quickly as well. We really liked the cute fishbowl cocktail. It was evenly mixed and tasted great! I had a few questions about how portions worked compared to weight and our server was easily able to answer without getting too technical. We did not have to wait long at all to get our food either. The seafood boils came out in a tied bag on a tray and a trash can, bibs, gloves, a shell cracker, and shell splitter were given to us for ease of eating. As soon as we poured those bags onto our trays our mouths were watering. It looked so good and it tasted even better. We both got the A+ seasoning which is all of their seasonings mixed together and we liked it a lot. My sister got it with a medium spice level and said she didn't taste much spice as if it was a mild spice level like what I got but still tasted good. The seafood was fresh as well. I loved the snow crab legs and they were decently sized too. It wasn't too loud inside and not too busy for a Friday night and we enjoyed ourselves a lot. Everything was decently priced and the bathrooms were fairly clean as well. Overall we liked the place a lot and would come here again.

We come here on date night and for large family functions. They offer something for everyone. Kids included! The ribs are sooo good. The fish and chips breaded or broiled, fries or green beans is just delicious! Pierogi, Burgers, sandwiches, pasta..... all spot on! Chips and cheese has much improved queso and salsa. Good job on this improved version. Service has become a little hit and miss at times, however, may be due to newer wait staff? We love this place for the broiled cod! The tarter and slaw are spot on!!! They hand batter the cod if you order it fried. So good! Ribs are amazing. Not smoked-not boiled so texture and flavor is delish. The ribeye, well it's just ok. Too thin to get a med-rare and is just choice steak so it eats rather tough for a ribeye. Green beans are always fresh. Steak tips are a must. Chips and cheese with salsa is okay. Cheese sauce is nothing to talk about. Fettuccine Alfredo with blackened chicken was pretty good. Pizza pierogies are yummy !Mac & cheese is pretty good. Everything here is homemade. Everybody can find something on this menu. Staff is friendly. Atmosphere is so cool. Michigan rock artists are hand painted and displayed pool tables and shuffle board too! We usually eat here about once a week. I do wish they had a better quality ribeye steak, even if they charge to make it a larger portion and make it prime. It's not easy to find a really good steak out there.

We always try to check our food before we leave the restaurant if we carry out since I do not want to drive back, especially if it is far. I could already tell from the look of the food that it would not be my favorite. I ordered three sushi rolls. I checked those first. One, which was larger and not pictured here, was all there. The second, for some reason a smaller roll, also only had one roll. We told the cashier and the chef we were missing a roll. The cashier said to look in the small container, which I had already inspected right in front of her. It was not there. Then she needed to see it, and told me to show her. Then she wanted to see the receipt even though she knew we ordered three, she took the order. Then she asked me which one was missing even though she could see which ones we had and read the receipt. The names of the sushi rolls were so similar, I gave the ingredients of the missing item. Finally, they acknowledged they did not give it to me and had to make it. After going home, I tried the sushi. It was really the worst sushi I have ever tasted and I do not mind gas station or grocery store sushi. The rice was so super sweet, it tasted like pure sugar. The salmon looked like tuna and did not taste great. The larger sushi was about $14 and was not worth the price and the other two rolls were not fresh or delicious. Very disappointing. We also had Pad Thai, curry rice, and Pad See-ew. They were not overly flavorful and the noodles of the Pad See-ew were stuck together, and there were many spots of the rice that did not get mixed into the sauce or seasoning. The leftovers were not too bad, but still, I will not be back. Looking at the other reviews, people do seem to like it here, so I always say try it for yourself, we might have different tastes and opinions.

We don't like MSG and were able to request the food without it. The food was amazing. It had great flavor, portions were plentiful and the pricing was good. This little restaurant also serves sushi. We tried two different rolls and oh boy! It was some of the best sushi we've eaten! The crazy California roll is fantastic. My husband had a spicy tuna roll and customized it by adding fresh jalapeño. We appreciated their flexibility. We are excited to add this little gem to our rotation of restaurants we enjoy.

It's a unique setup as a gas station, market, deli, and bistro all in one, and they definitely offer a ton of options. The selection is honestly one of their biggest strengths--whether it's groceries, prepared foods, or drinks, there's a lot to choose from. That said, the prices are noticeably high across the board, especially for gas and everyday grocery items. The food-to-go section is where things start to fall off. It always looks solid in the case, but somehow never tastes as good as it should. It's not terrible--it's just consistently underwhelming. The bistro itself is decent, but nothing special. If you've had Middle Eastern-style grill spots before, you've had this. Plenty of lamb and shawarma options, but nothing that really stands out. The one exception: the Thai peanut chicken wings and the shoestring fries are actually really good and worth ordering. They also advertise a huge beer selection--something like 100 options--but in reality, the taps are rarely all running, which takes away from what could be a big highlight. One thing that stood out on my last visit was how strong the smell of cleaner was inside. It was almost overpowering and made it tough to sit and enjoy a meal. On the flip side, it was definitely clean--maybe just a little too clean in that moment. Overall, Alex's Market & Grill has a lot of potential with its variety and concept, but it ends up being more average than it looks at first glance. Good in a pinch, but not somewhere you go out of your way for.

We went upstairs to eat around 1 PM on a Thursday, so it wasn't particularly busy. Unfortunately, they had already "run out" of a few key items, including the Dubai Espresso Martini and bone-in wings. That was confusing, especially considering there's a grocery store downstairs--it didn't quite add up and was disappointing. The service itself was great. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, but she didn't seem very familiar with the menu and couldn't offer recommendations, which would have helped since it was our first time. As for the food: the boom boom shrimp and lamb sliders were both good and definitely the highlights. However, the fish tacos were extremely salty--so much so that I couldn't finish them. Overall, the vibe is cool and I'd consider coming back for drinks, but based on this experience, I don't think I'd return for the food. We do appreciate the free dessert, I'm just still hungry
