Chicken Shack is a bit expensive, but Chicken Shack also has some of the best fried mushrooms and ranch around. I feel like fried mushrooms used to be an appetizer staple, but now most menus do not have them. This is the place to get them. The batter is so bubbly and it comes out so crispy and flavorful. Their ranch is pretty good, especially with the mushrooms. They give a pretty good portion. Even the kids like them. Honestly, I do not go to Chicken Shack enough for this snack. I really love them. This location is in a good spot with plenty of parking. It is also a lot larger than many of the other locations. It is easier to get in and out of than other locations. My family ordered about $200 worth of food to go from this location. Sadly, they forgot our two orders of fries. We were located about 30 miles from the restaurant, so we were upset that we had to make a drive back (luckily we had guests who were coming from the same area to our house who were able to pick up the fries). I feel that the ordering process and customer service needs improvement. When calling in the order, it was a robot on the line which made communication take much longer than necessary. Additionally, the restaurant did not apologize or give any compensation for forgetting part of our order. A sorry would've been nice! The food itself was grease heavy, but it's Chicken Shack so it's expected. We used their website to order. At no time did it let you know it was powered by door dash. The order came wrong, when we called they said call the dasher. It is not possible because we don't have a door dash account. They hung up the first time, we called back and asked for the manager. They said why did we wait to call, we said we just did just after the order was delivered. They said too bad. We drove to the location to be met by some unprofessional people. They argued to correct their mistake. The employees are pretty rough looking, so lack of customer service didn't surprise me. Just ordered food that I generally get when I order from here. And today after the call in the price sounded higher than normal. I ask about the price only to be told I'm wrong. The prices listed versus the actual prices are different and on top of it charging more for customers using plastic instead of cash. Price increase not listed and old prices posted. I should have read the reviews before going here. The service was terrible; we ordered and waited 25 minutes . When my wife asked how much longer an employee said we should have ordered ahead of time and went on to say that today was his last day. The food was also terrible. First time attempting Chicken Shack after hearing mixed reviews. Ordered a basic 8 piece chicken with fries to go. The wait staff referenced 6-7 minute wait while being prepared. While waiting the general cleanliness of the dining area and food preparation area was dirty and disorganized. The 6-7 minute wait progressed to 24 minutes after all have been served before and after me I approach and ask what the delay was ? They did not recognize my order, keep in mind there were four customers in total with four employees addressing orders. The reviewed my receipt and stated it would again be 6-7 minutes to prepare. At that point based on lack of cleanliness and delay, I chose to ask for a refund. With push back I asked for the manager, he displayed no interest in me and couldn't care less if I were a return customer in the future. It was even difficult to get him to acknowledge his name to me (Matthew). I would not recommend this facility to anyone. read more

My how the mighty have fallen. I have been a Chicken Shack customer at various locations since the 90's. They used to offer good portions of juicy chicken at a decent price. Now they offer some of the smallest pieces of chicken that are completely dry and charge a fortune for what you get. I always order the 4 piece meal or get a family bucket. The breasts are consistently the same size as the thighs (which is not the case almost anywhere else you get fried chicken) and the wings are tiny. This chain has clearly made the decision to buy smaller pieces of chicken but charge more to the consumer. Fast casual chicken place. Went for the reviews on their website about the best chicken and ribs via the Detroit newspaper. The menu is hard to understand on their screens up above the counter, so I used the takeout menu to order. I got a lunch combo that had three chicken tenders, BROASTED potatoes, and a toasted roll. My mom got the same combo. And my dad got the four-piece chicken dinner meal. The chicken was good. Really hot. Sort of hard to eat which how random pieces would slide out as you ate. No problem with their cooking at all, just an observation. The potatoes were the MVP of the meal. I could have eaten a bowl full of them. Great crispy and soft texture with a little pool of oil on the plate to rub them in before putting them in your mouth. No need for dipping them in any ketchup or anything. The clerk at the register was a bit stand-off-ish and seemed a tad annoyed that it was our first time. All of the other guys working seemed friendly. Good prices. Good food. Brought my friend from out of state here after bragging about how great chicken shack is. Unfortunately, the man behind the register ruined our experience - brunette with overgrown beard and "B" tattoo on his right forearm and reaper tattoo on his left forearm - he was so incredibly rude to both me and my friend, and the woman behind us. He seemed to treat the cook poorly, too. After rushing us through our order and acting as though we weren't intelligent because we needed to look at the menu - again, my friend's first time ever at a chicken shack - he also lied about the price of a meal versus what we ordered which lead to both of us overpaying - we realized after sitting down and doing the math afterwards. My recommendation is for him to leave the service industry and go into a line of work that allows him to be grouchy in private and not customer facing. I hope the other employees can find somewhere else to work to get away from him. Until Ashley is fired, I will not return to this location. She harassed a pregnant woman by running out to her car and accusing her of stealing a STAPLER! It's a STAPLER for Pete's sake. The customer told her multiple times that she didn't have it and had to show her the inside of her purse, inside of her car, and the employee (morning manager) Ashley even took pictures of her license plate and threatened to call the police. I reiterate.. over a STAPLER. They then checked the surveillance cameras and saw that it was the customer's PHONE that she had. All that harassment for nothing. The location is refusing to fire or even suspend Ashley. For Ashley to go through such measures to harass and even make the customer burst in tears for no reason (over a stapler) is so absurd to me and it's even more mortifying that the owners and general managers are doing nothing about it. read more

I've personally never of eating here but I work at DoorDash and occasionally will pick up orders from them. When I get there, I state who's order I am, there for. Now this has happened a couple of times but they have failed to tell me when the order is ready. It does not matter if they are busy or not. Regardless they will still not call out if your order is ready. I have waited 20 minutes for a ordered that was ready before.
