First time at Chicken Salad Chick and it really transports you to a certain era! It's like jumping into a Vera Bradley purse, it's so fun and kitschy. Never did I expect to find a whole restaurant dedicated to chicken salads, but it actually makes for a very satisfying lunch spot. They have daily specials and on Friday we were excited for their tomato bisque. I tried their pimento cheese chicken salad, and sorta regretted it because it was very sweet when sandwiched in a croissant as my bread. My partner picked their new Jill pickle chicken salad on wheat and as a BLT, it was a much more savory option. We split and swapped our sandwiches which made for a good balance. I also tried their broccoli salad as my side and liked it. It had a light mayo dressing and a bit of cheese and bacon. Their tea options were also good and I drank their peach ice tea. Next time I want to try their buffalo chicken salad or maybe take home one of their to-go portions as an easy meal for the week. I support this restaurant concept! It's so smart that it's next to a healthy grocery store like Sprouts. The food came out super quick too! read more

So for various reasons, nothing to do with the food here, I haven't been in quite a while. But that chicken salad BLT sandwich has stayed in my mind making me drool at night, sometimes after they're closed. So today I decided it was time to revisit. It's a little hard for me to eat inside restaurants anymore so I do mostly takeout, especially take out brought to my car. Just less pain for me. But OH this is worth the discomfort. Not that it's hard for handicapped. Parking is close to the building and handicap parking is close. It's easy to push open the door and plenty of room to walk or wheel through. I happened to stumble upon customer appreciation day, so was instantly greeted and handed a cup of Carol's chicken salad to take home. Wonderful surprise. Now I have to talk about the staff here. Always so friendly and helpful. And they don't just stand behind the counter. They come out and help. There are a number, a lot of varieties of fillings to choose from. They offer samples of any you wish to try. So you see it could take a while but it really doesn't. What with my pain and some new varieties since my last visit I was a little scatter brained. But they treated me like a loved friend or family member not annoyed at all. She even noticed my military ID when I got my credit card out and gave me that discount automatically. I also sat where I could see them react with the take out and pick up customers. Again smiling, friendly, helpful...helped to carry out or check the order. Could not have been nicer. Had them sit if not ready and brought to the table. So really above 5 star on that! Now the food. Not quite five star...but maybe that's me. Maybe I ordered wrong. It's been a while and I'm really nitpicking here. The bread on my sandwich seemed to be grilled, not toasted. Only one side of the bread was toasted and it was both very thin bread but also very limp and floppy. Maybe toasted on the menu meant grilled? The other tiny thing and again really nitpicking is my bacon. It was not warm...so it didn't have the best flavor profile it could bring to the sandwich. Now was this a bad sandwich? Not at all, it was a great sandwich which I gobbled and enjoyed. But those two touches have pushed this sandwich to even more stars before. Again I'm nitpicking this sandwich. The soup was great. Very welcoming as soon as you go in, staff is super friendly, very clean as well. They have a couple options to grab when you walk up to the register or you can just order with the cashier. I had a pick up order so I was in and out but the cashier was super nice and offered to go over the menu with me. Not that three out of five stars is considered a bad rating. I rated my experience based on the fact that I went in after the lunch hour and got my items to go. It was packed! It was 2 o'clock in the afternoon! I've never seen so many people eating chicken salad in my life. I stood in line long enough to get my to go package of the Classic Carol as well as the Southern Pimento Cheese. I was asked if I would like crackers with my order and I answered yes I would. I went to walk out and then realized I didn't have any utensils so I went back to the counter and asked for a packet of utensils. I would like to experience this franchise as a patron sitting down having a meal. I like their concept. You choose your entrée then you choose your flavor and then you choose your side and then their add-ons consist of some desserts and of course beverages. The Classic Carol chicken salad consists of finally minced celery, mayonnaise and their secret seasoning. The southern pimento cheese consists of sharp cheddar and pepper jack cheese, pimento peppers and creamy house dressing. Both were tasty and satisfied my peckish desire to eat a little something. Ok so my daughters heard about chicken salad chick and wanted to check it out! Apparently I have been to this restaurant before, but the one in parkland , Florida it was their first time. We got here about 1230 prime time for lunch so it was a bit busy. Although the online order side was much busier. I do enjoy the color of the restaurant bright greenish looked and was clean. Great place to stop by for a quick lunch with friends, coworkers or family. They have a good selection of meals, the wait time was about 5-6 mins. It's a little on the pricey side for 3 of us I paid $40 that's without drinks and no dessert. (Cake was my nephews) The sliced cake didn't taste the freshest a little dry but the frosting made up for the dryness, still was delicious. Made a dine in visit with the hubs and was not disappointed. Their chicken salad is Uh-Mazing!! It was the perfect portion for us to share as we had eaten a pretty heavy breakfast and just needed a light snack around lunch time. The cashier seems like she was having a bad-ish day, but we could tell nothing was directed at us, so we hope her spirits are lifted and she is has an amazing week! The manager was kind. Nice concept, poor execution. The staff was amazing! The two is for them. The food, well it just sucks. When we both said, hill country fare chicken salad tastes better, yeah. No seasoning or spice. We had the jalapeno Holly, and cranberry kelly. Not even close to spicy on the jalapeno Holly, and the cranberry kelly gets blown out of the water by the heb version. The chicken itself had a strange texture. Almost grainy. The sides were just as bad. My broccoli salad, made no sense. It needed to be warm! Trust me. The macaroni salad also was just as bad. The pasta was overcooked. I mean it was semi affordable. As bad as the two salads were, we wouldn't bother to try any of the rest of the menu. I mean it was all BLAND! Do yourself a favor and just buy it from HEB, and some pita chips. Just okay.... I decided to try this spot on recommendation from my coworker. I love the color scheme and the restaurant is cute and clean! I have really high standards for chicken salad because I grew up in a town with a local deli that was famous for their chicken salad, so maybe I was just expecting too much! I ordered the basic chicken salad on a croissant with fruit. I thought the sandwich was decent, but honestly it was comparable to the pre made chicken salad at our local grocery chain... Chicken Salad Chick is my ultimate quick lunch spot to go to. I order mainly online and pick it up. The service is fast and the line moves very quickly especially when you're on your lunch break. The people working the counters are always friendly and if you do order in the store at great with helping with menu options. Chicken eateries plague this radius but we will choose this place when it comes to eating healthy. I'd definitely recommend this place as not only the service is great but the food is probably made from scratch. Unlike Panera Bread or Paradise Bakery (in the West Coast), the menu has its similarities. I would bring someone with you that has eaten here before as the menu is very detailed based on your taste. Chicken salad is the main course which is evenly spread thru every recipe on menu based your choice. You will leave this place with a full tummy. At all times, they have 12 different varieties to choose from, ranging from a classic chicken salad made with mayo and celery, to a buffalo chicken salad. I've seen this building several times because it's in the same westover hills shopping center where my beloved Playa Bowls is, but I never stopped in. It shares an open parking lot with several other restaurants and businesses. Depending on the time you come, you may have to circle around for a parking spot. Lots of small booths or 4 seater tables with ample natural lighting. Thankfully, my husband came home one day with a few goodies from Chicken Salad Chick. He had a side order of Jalapeño Holly, a Fancy Nancy Sandwich (on croissant) combo with pasta salad and cookie, and a side order of Olivia's Old South. Fancy Nancy is what I'm accustomed to. A traditional chicken salad made with celery, mayo, salt, pepper, but add in grapes. The difference is, this one includes apples and pecans. I liked it so much that when I decided to go into the restaurant on 9.29.23, I reordered that for myself! When husband brought it home, it had pasta salad. The pasta salad wasn't bad but it was kinda dry and had more of a pronounced pesto flavor. So I replaced it with spicy pimento cheese. Perfection!!! I have officially reignited my love for pimento cheese. Jalapeño holly has a bunch of diced up jalapeños, but it's a nice slow burn. Husband and my eldest really enjoyed that one so I grabbed more of that on my trip. Olivia's Old South tastes like a chicken salad and a deviled egg had a baby. The pickle relish most certainly comes through. It was tasty but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. The superstar surprise was their broccoli salad! When I walked into the restaurant, I saw a refrigerated display case with small and medium sized containers of their chicken salads, pimento cheese, grape salad and broccoli salad. I grabbed the large broccoli salad, optimistically hoping it would be good. I'm so glad I did because it was so fresh and seasoned so simply and well. Slightly on the sweet side from the dressing and tossed with some cheese, I finished this container in 2 days with minimal help from the kids. I deducted 1/2 of a star because the grapes in my fancy Nancy this second time around were not cut. I literally bit into 2 whole grapes. Whoever made this batch didn't take their time . Also.. that cookie reminds me of the loft house sugar cookies from the grocery store. Makes your mouth dry while tasting overly sweet. Yuck. This is my first time at chicken salad chick, I got the chicken salad with cranberries, pecans, and apples. My husband got the plain jane chicken salad. We both got it on croissants. I also got a spinach salad and tomato bisque soup, and my husband got the loaded potato chicken soup. My chicken salad was okay. It had some flavor because of the extra things in it. But my husband's chicken salad tasted very blend and not a lot of flavor. I really enjoyed my salad with the poppy seed dressing and the tomato bisque. My husband also really liked the loaded potato soup a lot. If I go back, I would get soup and salad and maybe try the jalapeno chicken salad to add a little bit more flavor. This was a small restaurant we saw and ordered food to go from. The restaurant itself was very clean and organized. We were able to order our food fairly quickly, and the people we spoke with were very nice. The drink I got was a watermelon tea which I really liked and recommend. However, the sandwich I received was pretty average. It also didn't help that the bread absorb a lot of the pickle juice that was in the container, so the bottom half of the sandwich was soggy. The other sandwich my mother ordered was a chicken salad sandwich that she said she enjoyed. The small cookie that came with the meal I really liked the best. I definitely would order cookies from here again. They also had a soup of the day, which I had the potato one. It was pretty good but too much bacon for me. The crackers I had did help with it though and still enjoyed. The other soup, chicken tortilla, was also pretty good and would recommend. Their grape salad is on point. The pimento cheese was not my favorite. It was grated cheese lightly held together. I ended up taking it home and making a grilled cheese out of it. The egg salad was good. They have good combo meals. You can either get a scoop of your main chicken salad or you can make it a sandwich. You can also make the pimento cheese and the egg salad into a sandwich. The chick combo meal comes with a cookie and a pickle. You can make it a trio for only a few dollars more. They have plenty of seating, but I saw a lot of people taking their food to go. You order at the register. They are quick with your food. Parking is on site, but shared with the other businesses. I was invited by my neighbor friend to the soft grand opening today. We were super excited and eager to try, as she was very familiar with the chain coming from Alabama. Warm welcome upon entering the restaurant, cute tablecloths adorned each table, and loved the southern vibe. Since it was my first time, I decided to go for the traditional chicken salad sandwich with a scoop of Olivia's Old South. Toasted bread upon request.. bread was toasted on the outside, not inside, I would have preferred to have the bread toasted on both sides. Sandwich came with sliced tomatoes and lettuce. Enjoyed the traditional chicken salad- chicken was nicely shredded and not overly salty. I added a few dashes of pepper, since I'm a peppery kinda gal : D Olivia's chicken salad had a bit of pickle and egg, which was nice too. I used the packaged crackers to scoop up and eat some of the yummy chicken salad. I think next time I'll just order the chicken scoops sans bread. The meal came with a lovely packaged shortbread cookie that I took home to try. Very upset with Denny. I've never had so many issues with an order. I was upset leaving but besides that... all ordering staff was extremely helpful. I'm frustrated the manager or GM whatever the title is to have so many issues with an order I get constantly. It felt as if the drive thru and associates were helpful but her. I specified exactly what I wanted but yet at this location. And with Denny. It was not able to happen here. Will not be coming back to this location and having to wait as long as I did and coming to my car 4 times to specify my orders with only one simple modification. Not happy on this visit and this is the first time they were unable to do what I had asked. The Olivia South (with eggs and pickles) is just like my auntie makes it. The regular wasn't that good to me because it didn't remind me of home so I'm glad I tried multiple. Just get the Olivia. I didn't want to admit it but this place actually is really really good. I'm pretty skeptical at the quality of chicken salad at restaurants but this does it right. As far as service goes it's not the worst but it definitely could use some improvement. I've yet to have anyone who seems happy I'm ordering food here. The concept guiding this restaurant is that everybody has a different idea of what makes the "perfect" chicken salad. When I'm making chicken salad, I always go all-in with dried onions because I think that makes it extra delicious. The Dixie Chick (oniony) chicken salad here is absolutely perfect for me for that reason. I've tried and liked a few of the others, including Lauryn's Lemony Basil (self-explanatory), the Scotty (with ranch, cheese, and bacon), and a temporary Dill flavor with cucumber pieces in it. I've really liked all of them. There are a few varieties on the menu that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole, but that just means that they have everyone else's tastes covered! I will say that the flavors are more on the traditional southern side. There's no Curry Chicken Salad (what the Brits call "Coronation Chicken) or Sesame Mandarin Chicken Salad. They don't get international with it, but that's fine. They stick to what they know. The people who work there are always very sweet and polite, and the ambiance is pretty cute, given the strip mall location. I love that they have a case of chicken salads (large and small) that you can just grab for takeout. Sometimes I pop by to bring one to work. The cost is just a little over $8 after taxes, which really is not bad considering the quality of the chicken salad. If you dine in, they have cute table cloths, but they only give you plastic cutlery instead of real forks and knives, which makes it a little more wasteful and less homey. It's very clean though. My only big complaint is the lack of gluten-free options, which would be SO EASY to add! They should just carry some gluten free crackers. I get that gluten-free bread can be icky and would probably spoil, but crackers would be pretty simple. They could keep a box of them in the back for folks like me. I'd even pay $1 extra. The chicken salad is already gluten-free, so it seems silly to just rule out anyone with gluten sensitivities when it could be easily remedied. For now, I either get the potato soup to have some carbs or bring my own crackers. Nobody's given me the side eye (that I saw). I LOVED the fancy Nancy! The lemon basil was good too, but I really didn't get much lemon from it. It reminded me more of a pesto, which was good!!
