The food was ok. Some of the chicken was very greasy. Overall though, not bad. What I found a bit sleazy is when I went to pay, I was asked, "Cash or credit?". I used credit. Without telling you, with no signs posted saying so, they slip in a 3.5% "non-cash adjustment". This chicken express has had significant improvement in the management over the years however, there are some employees aren't very friendly & not professional at all! I would recommend employees having more professionalism, especially in front of customers!! Overall the food is good and fresh. Even though the wait is sometimes a little long, our orders usually are accurate and they have few mistakes, that I've seen. I moved away from Nacogdoches 8 years ago and this used to be one of my favorite places to eat. I sadly can no longer say that. I am assuming due to Chic Fil a and Raising Canes moving in, this place has too much competition and quite frankly, due to health reasons, should probably be shut down. The food was all hot and cooked when we ordered it (minus the chicken strips) but the restaurant is filthy. No ice but plenty of green slime on the ice dispenser. Sticky walls, dirty bathrooms, dirty booths. My plate had a small black, coarse facial hair on it that I removed before consuming. Since it wasn't on the actual food I avoided that area instead of returning the food, who knows what I would have gotten the next go-round. read more

Every single time I go here, I am treated horribly. The workers here are the rudest people. I have worked in retail and I know the fake it smile, but they don't even attempt this. The girls that work the drive-through window will almost throw the food at you and will make snide remarks to your face. As for the food, this is the worst chicken express I have ever been to. Got take out a few weeks back at this place. I was charged .50 for an extra roll that wasn't in my box. I went in today and ordered my usual and told them about the missing roll. The girl said, did you call us, and I said no, and she said pound sand. Even the general manager said if you don't call, then they couldnt help me. In other words they lost a customer over .50 . She said they had lost too much product over cases like this. I'm sure the roll cost less than .05. So people if this is how they treat customers, they are in the wrong business. So, the food is good. My review is solely a service based review. The girl on headset at the drive thru had an attitude which I understand. I ordered 3 sides and an unsweet tea and a sweet tea. Literally THE WORST fast food experience I've ever had. Asked for two separate orders, gave the cashier two cards, and she put it all on one. And was like "Oh that's why you gave me two cards". YEAH. And then she told me to pull forward because they were waiting on gravy. 15 MINUTES LATER she comes out and tries to give me someone else's food. And when I say "where's my food?" She says "oh it didn't show up on our screen so they just put it in." So I sit in my car for another 10 minutes before they finally bring my food out and no sweet tea! So another 5 minutes pass and she finally comes up with my sweet tea. So I haul butt back to work because I've already used up my 30 minutes for dinner, and I sit down to eat my food and THEY GOT THE ORDER WRONG. I would literally pay money NOT to eat here. I quit going to Chicken Express about a year ago. My family and I used to get the 20 piece family meal, then one day we ordered our usual and got home to try to eat. The chichen was nasty. I called and they admitted to having run out of chicken, and then purchasing chicken from Brookshires. The next three attempts were just as negative. I ordered fried pickles and got this wad of gooie nasty tangle if pickles. I got 2 containers of gravy, instead of mashed potatoes. I watched a server scratch her scalp under her weave. I watched a server wipe her hands off on the seat if her pants, after she got up from where she was sitting on the floor. There is a nasty sour smell that eminates from the tea tank where black mold grows on the floor. All this caused me to quit going. Like a fool, I decided to give it a try tonight. BIG MISTAKE ! They had burned the roles, but were still serving them (as to how the 5 employees that were there managed to burn them I don't know, they are on a timer after all.) I got home (20 min drive) only to discover that my gravy was watered down milk with no spice. Literally, the consultancy of low fat milk. No pepper or any other spices. If you look at the pictures, you can see that there is not a spec of pepper, and the liquid is dripping off the fork. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I would give it zero stars if yelp would let me. The dining area is nasty dirty. Tables had not been cleaned. The floor had layers of grease, dirt and chicken crust along the base boards. The back of chair and benches had grease streaks. The workers know very litte about cleanliness. I watched an employee wipe her hair back and then grab the wisk to stir the newly brewed tea, while her fingers dipped into the tea. Hair nets are either not required or ignored. I saw nobody wearing any type of hair net or cap while handling food. I found two long black hairs in my chicken tenders. My guess is that they have not see a heallth inspector in a long time. Corporate Chicken Express website sends you back to the store for complaints. I am guessing corporate doesn't care about their image. Avoid this place! There is a better choice for chicken tender on North Street. Shoot, I know gas stations that are cleaner, safer and better. This locations needs to be shut down or new management needs to come in an renovate and clean up the place. read more
