Check your to go orders before you leave. We ordered dinner there tonight. I got a three piece meal and only received two pieces. I realize this isn't a huge deal but it does cost more for that third piece. And I was planning to save it for lunch tomorrow. The quality of food other than that was good. read more

I recently was at chicken express and drcided to go through the drive through and the young man working the window was very rude to me when he opened the window he rolled his eyes at me and aggressively shoved the food in my face then when I said have a nice rest of your day he slammed the window in my face without saying anything back I wouldn't expect that type of customer service from a place that's normally so well spoken about read more

Quality at this place has gone to the dumpster. Ordered 18 piece gizzards there may have been 18 tiny gizzards if you count the breading grisle. The fries, cold and dry. If you value your money look elsewhere. Good restaurant for chicken BUT NO MORE. If you value your money and want a hot meal stay away folks. read more

Chicken Express - This is supposed to be an 18 piece gizzard. - Fish & Chips Near Me - Granbury, Texas

Have ordered over the phone, drove through the drive-through then paid at the first window after confirming my order then drove around to the pick-up window. Food was ready. Questioned the lady if my order was complete with all I had ordered. I listed item by item. She said yes to all. Arriving at home, I found immediately the Family Size Okra was not in the bag. Too far to drive back. Same lady said at first I didn't order a Family Size Okra then checked and admitted I did order the Okra. Said she would make a note to give me the Okra on my next visit. Fourth time in ten visits, an item was missing. If I have time, I usually open the bag while I'm still at the window. My fault for not checking... read more

I went through the drive and ordered a 7 piece tender meal and 4 piece tender meal. When I got home there was only 5 tenders in the 7 piece and barely 4 in the other. My chicken and gravy are barely warm, sides are cold and the rolls are over cooked. This is by far the worst food we have gotten from here. read more

So good chicken was fresh hot and crispy loved the coleslaw and the French fries were so good did not need ketchup and employees were nice

Sweet tea, Mac and cheese, the rolls, everything is good. The service is great too. The ambiance of the building feels nice. It's all around a great place, 100% recommend. read more

We were craving friend chicken, and the closest place that came to mind was Chicken Express. Although I wasn't craving it, once I saw the chicken livers, I went that route. Thuy got chicken, and we shared. As far as the food goes, 3 stars, A-OK. Tracking down condiments was a pain. you have to ask for everything, very little is put out. Maybe it's just a reflection on the customers. But kudos to the girl at the cash register, as she met all our requests with a smile. I thought maybe the oil was a little past fresh, i.e. it needed a change, but we were there later in the evening, so maybe just bad timing. It was also interesting to watch other customers come and go. Granbury sure has all kinds. Bottom line: Would not rule Chicken Express out, next time we feel like eating less healthy. read more

Fast, courteous, and they get the order right every time! The chicken is juicy, well cooked and well seasoned.

1st visit was really good. We were impressed with the chicken being so good and fresh. The gravy was runny though. The 2nd visit I got the chicken livers. They were hard and dry, but the gravy and biscuit were great. read more

I stop by here every so often to order the 6 breaded chicken livers. I asked if fresh ones could be made and got them in about 5 minutes w/gravy and a biscuit no problem. I really like when they are freshly made because the texture is spot on. They were just right and plentiful! I'm so thankful to have a place that offers it as I need its nutritional value. Have no complaints or suggestions on making it better. It was perfect! read more

Wow. Chicken express used to be my FAVORITE chicken place here in Granbury, but after they rebuilt and hired new staff I've never been so disappointed. I ordered my usual and took a seat of course. After taking the FIRST bite I was disgusted, even the rolls were disgusting. Then I decided to wash down the terrible after taste with some of chicken expresses famous tea. Disgusting. The interior redesign was amazing but sadly the food was horrible, I'm disappointed. read more

Husband went to pick up dinner. Two two piece dinners. They tried to give him a 20 piece tender not once but 3 times. Then they handed him our poppers and said thank you. He said "where's the rest of our food?" They said what food? He said the food I ordered and paid for. When he asked for our money back they balked. So they asked him again what he ordered. He handed them the receipt. They said well we don't have any white meat ready right now. Would you like tenders???? Really?!?! There's a kitchen full of people back there and not one person knows what's going on. read more

Our household has been a fan of Chicken Express in Granbury for a long time. But recently management changed and so has the food. Today my mom picked up two orders to go: one nine piece gizzards and one livers order. Imagine our surprise when at home we opened the boxes to find that my mom's order was missing fries and the gizzards were overcooked, and my order of gizzards contained all chicken livers, with not a gizzard in sight. Mom called to complain and was offered a $25.00 credit for the screwup. But that wasn't going to fix our meals. So she returned to Chicken Express to get things sorted. What my mom returned with was worse. Her replacement livers were still not good, and the fries were old. The gizzards in my order were tough to chew on, as if they had been cooked early in the morning and had sat out all day...you know, sort of that leathery feel meat gets after it sits out for too long. On top of that, the gizzards were half the size that are usually served there. Oh, and the Mac and cheese was half the size that we've got from there over the last seven or eight years. So as much as we've recommended this place in the past to friends, I have to warn you away from it now, which is a shame. The good news is that the Chicken Express in Glen Rose always has freshly cooked food, and that is where I'll be getting all my gizzard cravings satisfied at from now on. Ps., in the end my mom refused the $25.00 credit because, as she told the new manager, she'll never use it. read more

Best food I've had at a Chicken Express plus it's super clean! The staff were kind and the management seems very involved in the community.

The best chicken and fish anywhere! We go there sometimes as much as two times a week! For minute

My husband and I have been frequenting this store for 20 years. We will not make that mistake again. We ordered their catfish which had excellent in the past. We asked for fresh fish, which was never a problem before. We were served refried filets. Our sides were cold and soggy. Never before have we had food this bad at this store. There is no pride in your product anymore. It's just sad. I will no longer direct people to your store nor will my husband. We may not make a difference to your bottom line, we will however tell our story to anyone who asks if your food is any good. Word of mouth eventually gets around read more

If you go for chicken and miss the fish you missed out. The catfish is amazing. The service is really good and the staff is very friendly.

sweet tea bussin bussin. Best chicken ever. Best employees ever. bussin. period. get a large sweet tea a day to keep the bad vibes away

Hooray for grease-pits! The presence of grease in the air is extremely palpable within the restaurant and up to twenty-feet from it. The food is pretty average tasting---nothing special, and the service is also pretty average. Overall, the place is sub-average and you couldn't make me eat there if I was starving. Their sweet tea, on the other hand is worth dying for. Seriously. It's freakin' amazing. read more

Ordered 4 tenders, okra, two gravies & two biscuits. I can usually get 2 meals out of this. Order was read back to me when employee handed it to me. Get back to work & I only have 1 biscuit. I can't leave work to go back to get it. Very disappointing. read more

Food is always great but it absolutely annoying that counting to 7 is so difficult for some employees. I realize nobody is perfect including myself and can easily understand something mis-cooked, but to be unable to simply count 7 strips into a box cannot be too much to ask. 2nd consecutive time this has happened. Might want to correct it before your competition moves in next door. read more

Picked up catfish for lunch today. It was the worst catfish ever. Very large pieces of batter and no fish.

Good experience, good polite staff, the only thing is it smells really bad inside- like nasty old grease.

As far as fried chicken or catfish goes - Chicken Express is definitely the best in town! Always friendly and well staffed. They have a wide variety of sides to offer, too. Be warned - their sweet tea is REALLY sweet so we always get our's half & half. read more

Dude read our receipt to us and we didn't get half of our order . On top of that the staff was extremely rude .

Everything terrible except for the unsweetened tea not even the fries were good. I just threw it all in the trash. Waste of money. I will never return . read more

The Chicken Express in Granbury is the best one at which I've eaten. Their chicken livers are not greasy and the the breading crust is the best I've had at any restaurant. I'm not usually a big fan of fried food because of the grease. The gravy is not so thick...better for dipping. The rolls are very tasty. We appreciate the quality of this fast food restaurant . read more

In terms of food it's typical fried chicken, fries & basket. What I want to warn people about is service. They have a new drink drive thru lane that is a joke. It wasn't clear what to do so I followed the sign & drove to the window. I sat there for several minutes watching the workers working & no one came to the window to help me even after making eye contact with some of them. Frustrated I knocked on the window. Then a man came to help me & advised me I didn't order at the drink window which is not clearly marked or noted. By then we both had a bit of an slight attitude. Just be forewarned that they will let you sit at the window and ignore you rather than reach out and ask how can they help you. read more

Chicken tenders are always juicy and I like the dinner rolls. Sweet tea is usually pretty good too! Wish the sides were a little bit bigger.

Finally got my wife to go there. When we walked in and saw mounds of already cooked chicken at 4:00pm on Friday 10-27-18, we should have walked out. Thought it was crazy that our food was ready before we filled our drinks. Everything was cold except the gravy. The tea was the only thing we finished. Restaurant wasn't the cleanest! They don't even deserve a single star for a rating. Will not go back!! read more

Got carry out from drive thru. Fast, efficient service. Chicken was ok. Fried okra excellent. Not good enough to return.

Dr. Pepper seemed a little watered down for my taste. Chicken was great. Honey mustered is awesome!

Got two items wrong in my order. Gave me fried okra instead of popper. Fried okra was over cooked. Guess the employess didn't care. No mashed pottoes .It was ~ 830 pm when I went . Guess the employess were more concerned about going home . BAD service. read more
