I have liked this Chicken Express in the past. But it is not consistently good. I picked up dinner there last night about 6:15. I asked to have livers cooked to order & was told they would be. When I got home we were very disappointed and annoyed. The chicken strips I had were stale, the mashed potatoes & gravy were barely warm, the livers had obliviously been sitting there a while so I was lied to. I also noticed that it was several young girls running the place playing around & having a good time & even heard one say a curse word. I was just told "here ya go", not thank you... Went to grab dinner for the family after a long day and I bought a 20 piece chicken tender meal w/ 3 sides and paid $35.47 . Everything looked great till I opened the macaroni and this is what it looked like. Half full and looks like someone has eaten out of it. Has a line where it was full at one time and scrape marks inside and bits and pieces of macaroni like it's been eaten out of. I called to speak to the manager and she argued with me saying she filled them up herself and it was not possible that anyone had eaten out of it. I'm not convinced. I've owned a restaurant and you cannot tell me this is how you serve your customers. Well, I paid for a large macaroni for a FAMILY OF 5 and this is what I get? Granted she offered to give me another one AFTER she argued about it but if this is how the manager operates her business what's not to say when I go back she spits in my replacement macaroni? Ordered from here tonight and chicken was horrible. The batter was all you could taste in what seemed to have sat in grease entirely too long and tasted old. Fries were soggy...not even good‍. Rolls were stiff. Sweet tea tasted like dirty sock water no ice in my drink, Dr Pepper was Flat also no ice. If you aren't looking to get sick, I would strongly suggest not eating here. read more

Today we stopped on our way to Mesquite, the woman working the drive thru cut my fiance off with the drive thru speaker. Every time he would try to say something else. She would cut him off and repeat what he just told her. It was very annoying and by the time we were through ordering we felt rushed. I don't know why she wanted to rush us as there were two vehicles in the parking lot and 2 in the drive thru. We finally open up our food only to find the Chicken under-cooked (with a very strange taste) and our sides were in the fryer for way too long. I broke a tong on my plastic fork just trying to stab a piece of ocra. When I called to speak to someone, I was told they don't have a corporate office and was given the number of the General Manager as she was not at the restaurant. Um, excuse me, you have no manager on duty right now?!?! Explains a whole lot! After I spoke with the General Manager, she wanted me to take a picture of my food (which I had to dig out of the trash cause I tossed it immediately). She offered to replace our meal. She acted like, "oh, no big deal. We will throw free food at them so they won't notice that under-cooked chicken isn't a big health concern for us and it could land someone in the hospital or worse." I will NEVER go here again and I will make sure that no one I care about visits this location. I DO NOT want to visit my family in the hospital because of the children who work there or the manager who thinks it's an easy fix with a free meal. read more

My friend and I walked in after a long day. It was raining outside so we decided to make the prompt decision to eat chicken express. We all order our food and to my dismay we see a gentlemen in the back with very long hair cooking our chicken. The hair looked frizzy, greasy, and just plain gross. Do employees here wear hairnets? This place gets worse and worse. Went last night, employees were great. The chicken breast looked like a pigeon breast and the 'tender' were so small they looked like French fries. Food is always excellent, If there is ever a problem they always make it right... Only problem is how long you have to wait for your food.

The chicken is always good, the tea is good. The sides aren't anything to write home about. The mashed potatoes are thick but the gravy is like wallpaper paste. Service is about average for Chicken Express. read more

I have been here multiple times with my kids. We usually get a family order of the chicken tenders and two sides. Our food is always hot and the tea is wonderful! The tenders are never greasy. I can't speak on the bone-in chicken. I never usually have to wait long and if I do, I am okay with it if that means my food is hot! read more

The food was good but the restroom is another story. There were was cleaning products on the tank of the toilet as well as a wash cloth that I assume they cleaned the toilet with? And more clean cleaning products on top of the hand dryer with no hand soap. Soap dispenser was gone from the wall with no replacement of any soap what so ever. read more

When I have been on the road during the day, many times I look forward to finding a Chicken Express at which to eat. However, The sheer number of bad reviews on yelp and the fact that the management hasn't attempted to respond to those reviews, led to my decision not to stop and do business with this particular Chicken Express. Any restaurant that receives this many negative reviews of which the management does not respond is not a restaurant that I want to give a chance or trust to give me quality food. I would really be ashamed if I was the franchise owner and failed to respond to these negative comments. read more

There were several things with today's visit to Chicken Express, and they were all significant enough for me to never patronize this location again. Firstly, a lady who is supposedly in some sort of leadership role was on cell phone over the fry bin. When she lost interest in whatever was on her phone, she decided to put fries and chicken in boxes-- you know, her job. Secondly, after waiting a while for my food, it was wrong. When I went inside, the cell phone lady argued with me that I received what I ordered. No, I didn't! There are incompetent people who work here, and unless someone is put there who is competent sooner than later, this location will surely close. Too many others are have complaints. read more

First time at Chicken Express. Not impressed. It was very hard to hear in this building. Had to ask the lady at the register to repeat what she said every time she said something. Their food is mediocre. Chicken is greasy and not that great, but most people don't go to the Chicken Express for the chicken. Their ice tea is the best in Forney, hands down. Nice and sweet, and doesn't taste like dirt as some restaurants and fast food places do. Inside is clean, but that's because most people use the drive-thru. read more

They are so inconsistent at the Forney location. We always get old chewy fries that I just end up throwing away. Is this what their told to do? To not waste anything, to serve everything that's cooked ? If you're going to give me old fries then just tell me that the fries aren't fresh so I don't waste my money, or at least don't charge me full price for that crap. Is this the lack of a good manager that allows this to continue to happen? The chicken is usually fresh but those fries are horrible sometimes. I like chicken express from other places. NO, NO and did I mention NO? My wife ordered the 5 dollar lunch special that was advertised on the marquee. They employee argued with her that they do not run that special and my wife ended up paying 6.99 for the meal. Got everything home and was not even edible. This is by far the absolute worst chicken express I've ever be to. I always get old fries, the food is always cold. I've come into contact with 2 different "managers" that are both about 18 years old and all they tell you is you can come back and get a replacement or they can put your name down. They never actually change how they do things. Avoiding this place like the plague! So done with them! I'd rather driving 15-20 to Rockwall to go to that chicken express!!! read more
