Had a hankerin' for some gizzards, gravy, and hot sauce. Went to the Forney location on Pinson Rd (they don't have near the number of locations as Golden Chick but the Chick doesn't sell gizzards on their menu !!) and got their standard 9-piece meal with a roll and drink. Where do I begin...I have never had a good experience at this Forney location. Tonight was the last straw. My wife called in an order and I was there in about 10 minutes to pick it up. I waited in the drive thru for close to 15 minutes before I just decided to go inside because surely my food was long ready by now. So I go inside and I see 5 people waiting and looking very upset. I get to the cash register and as usual the girl checking me out had awful customer service. I tell her i called in an order and she checks me out and then walks away....there was a woman who was getting impatient and asked if her order was ready...it wasn't. I tell her I called mine in and ask for an eta...she says there are no chicken tenders ready. (Chicken tenders should take 6-8 minutes to cook) and it has been 30 minutes since the order was made at this point. Meanwhile, the impatient woman gets her food and the order was grossly wrong and she waits longer to get it. Eventually the other people get their food but didn't ever check theirs...mistake on their part. Eventually after about 45 minutes the rude cashier hands me a bag and the order has regular sized sides.I had paid for family size. After I talked to the manager he goes and gets me family sides (a woman walks in while this is happening and complains how bad the food was and he asks her to wait behind me until he was done with me) and i head out with a bad feeling. I got into my car and put a jalapeno popper in my mouth...it was not a jalapeno popper at all and i get the weirdest taste of corn mush and what i can only desribe as some kind of cleanser taste. I spit it out and my tongue feels numb for a minute. Also discovered one of my extra gravys I ordered was actually a side of mashed potatos. Try a bite of a roll and it was hard as a rock! I thought at least if I waited this long that the food would be fresh and they would get it right! I immediately walked back in and got a refund. Just had the displeasure of going to chicken express tonight. Honestly? I like chicken express. It's good comfort food to me and my kid likes it too. It's close and somewhat quick. Tonight, I had the awful experience of dealing with Jamil. I place my order and after each item I am greeted with a gruff "that it?!". After I placed my 4 or 5 item order, I ask if I ordered a sweet tea. "That it?!" Yeah dude, that it. I pulled up He greets me at the window. Opens the window with 2 drinks in his hand and says "26". Dollar amount is right but we just dropped the change. Apparently too busy or I somehow pissed this kid off by making the mistake that I wanted chicken express. Couple of minutes pass and he shoves the bag at me. 3 boxes and I was expecting 4. I drive up to a space and check and yes....Mr. That It screwed up the order. I pull back around and ask for my missing item. I also showed him the family sides I bought which were half full (see below for before and after consolidation pics). He looked at me with kind of a blank face and said "yep, those family". Another employee brought over my corn nuggets because jamil could not be bothered by such a thing as customers. I verified his name and will be in touch with the manager tomorrow. The place isn't cheap to eat at if you are buying family and honestly I have had good experiences there for the most part. I can guarantee you I'm not going back for a bit and will explore Williams chicken and maybe others - maybe I just don't eat chicken and my money goes to the other 2 fast food places a stones throw away!!! I would like to start off by saying I rarely if ever take my time to bash a business. I'm sorry to anyone who comes here expecting the usually amazing food found at other chicken express locations. This review is based off my last three visits here and they were all not good. First the wait! It doesn't matter if you go inside or the drive through, you will be here at least 10 minutes or better. Waiting wouldn't be an issue If the chicken was fresh or they actually get your order right. Ask for no gravy? You will get gravy. Expect fresh crunch oakra? It will be old and soggy. Corn nuggets? Tastes as if they have been sitting under the lamp for the entire day. The chicken express in Seagoville is 5star and amazing every single time! The one on davis st in mesquite is at least a 4. This one is a single star and if I had not had the amazing food from other locations I would never come back. I just keep hoping that it will be a"good day" for them. I've gone to this CE for over 5 years and never had an experience like this, and I'm not normally one to complain. I ordered a 4pc spicy tender meal. Get to the window, pay... and wait LITERALLY 15 mins. It's fine, I figured they were out and making more. No. Cashier finally opens the window to ask me what I had.... and tells me she doesn't have spicy chicken, they can make it but it'll be 6 mins. Then offers me regular, so I say okay. Then the "manager" comes to the window to tell me she's out of regular chicken strips too and just offers me a refund!! That's it!!!! So I say sure, hand her my receipt and she SNATCHES it from me and slams the window shut. Refunds money to my card which will probably take 30 days (if she even refunded me) and in a smartass tone tells me to have a great day and slams the window, walks away. Are you kidding me?!?! I thought the reviews were off since Covid but there is no excuse with employees being rude and lying to the customer. Front cashier yelled at several customers. She said they were busy and were doing orders by number when in reality drive through took priority but when a inside customer complained he got his order before we got ours. Then several more behind us got their orders. My husband asked what number they were because we were skipped over to which he finally got our food. The chicken is always good, the service is reasonably fast (food comes out usually in five minutes or less), the employees are fine (not overly friendly, but not unfriendly), and the place is relatively clean. The fries, as one other reviewer previously mentioned, are often soggy and chewy. The gravy is plentiful, but a bit bland. The price is reasonable for the amount of food you get. We'd recommend the Forney Chicken Express if you're looking for a quick bite. read more
