Mannnn I gonna loose my mind at their sweet tea!!! Its sooooooooooooooo good! And everytime I come here I always eat inside. Because its almost like getting home cooked fried chicken, mash & biscuits!I always have to sit way back in my seat when I finish and unbuckle my pants. I just sit there for a while and smile! Its simple but yet so good! And that gravy is like...YEP on point! You gonna spend about 8 bucks per meal. And every dollar worth it! It's clear this owner doesn't believe in Covid. The employees cooking were wearing their masks on their chins. The large young man taking everyone's order would pull his mask dow when not facing the counter, touch the sores on his face and then touch the trays, cups, tongs and food. I saw him pick up a coin off of the floor and turn around and grab a cup for a customer with the same hand. I saw him wipe his nose several times and he never washed his hands. He was handling money then food. No hand washing ever. read more

So I'm normally the person railing against fast food in all forms, but this chain of chicken dives sucked me in off I-20 like a magnet (after realizing we had passed up the last Whataburger for 200 miles). In most respects, this is the same concept as KFC, only with a different breading recipe and without the slick branding that comes with being part of the multi-billion dollar Pepsi group. The chicken is pretty good for fast food and of the same quality you would find at a KFC - the reader is free to make their own judgment as to what that quality is. The three star rating is compared to other fast food places, so don't get me wrong: this is greasy chicken with miscellaneous other fried foods. The sign advertised gizzards, which neither me nor my friend ever had before. We each get a chicken tender combo and an order of gizzards to share. I was very encouraged by the fact that when I asked for hot sauce I was offered multiple kinds, as well as a hot seasoning salt. Both meals included a bowl of black pepper spiced white gravy, which stuck to your ribs and was great with the chicken and fries. The fried okra I got was disappointing, but the huge bucket of sweet tea on the counter hit the spot. As for the gizzards, well, they must be an acquired taste, because neither of us could eat more than one of the gristly and not-very-flavorful bird stomachs. read more

The exterior could be better taken care off, the atagg depending on who is on shift is nice, prices are bit high but food is decent

If you go here make a voice recording of your order so you can prove what was said. Check EVERYTHING drinks and all to be sure it is accurate before you drive away because you will wait in line behind ALL of the other cars if you have to go back to get your order corrected. Will never go back to this one. Basically called me a liar because the so called manager said she didn't hear the order. Deceptive. read more

This is southern style fast food at its best! I LOVE the gravy! Living in Southern California, I don't get the taste of the South very often. Usually I use ranch, but the gravy was so good that I never even opened my ranch. I had the chicken strips. I also had the fried okra. It was not greasy. Very good. The person at the counter suggested I try the roll instead of the biscuit since it was my first time in and the roll was sweet and tasty. This was the Eastland location and the 2 employees were especially nice even though I walked in 5 minutes before closing. I will look forward to visiting again any time I come to TX. Drive thru fast and efficient. Drive thru worker warm and friendly. Ordered catfish dinner with green beans. Green beans were wide and had good flavor. Problem was the SALTINESS! OMG! Had to throw them away, what a shame. I wonder if they salt them there or do they come seasoned? Catfish was so heavily breaded and salty. I would gladly have paid the same price for one piece instead of two if there were a better, thicker piece of catfish. I feel like I got a months worth of sodium in one meal. read more

On our way back to Louisiana, we stopped at Chicken Express in Eastland. They open at 10:30am and drove up to the drivethru at exactly 11am. We ordered #2 which was 7 chicken tenders, gravy and either a roll or a biscuit. She asked us which one, roll or biscuit and she said "well, it's going to be a few minutes before our biscuits are not done". Wow!! They should have been ready before the doors were unlocked at 10:30!! So we waited for the biscuits to finish cooking because I really love their biscuits! Finally she handed us our food and I bit into a strip and the chicken was RAW!!! Before I could say anything to my husband, he too bit into a strip and spit it right back out. His was raw as well! I broke open ALL 7 strips and ALL of them were raw! By this time, because we had to let them cool a bit, we were already about 10 or so miles down the road and so I called their store. I asked to speak to the manager and I informed her that they were all raw and that was money just thrown out the window.....literally!!! All she said was, "Yeah, we've been having trouble with all our chicken strips coming out slightly pink." They were more than "slightly pink", they were freaking RAW!! She asked me to bring them back and that wasn't even an option because we would have double back. She did offer to mail us back the money and which I did, I gave her our mailing address. Time will tell if she really does it. Update: NEVER EVER RECEIVED THE MONEY IN THE MAIL FROM THIS STORE! read more

I'm a sucker for chicken tenders, so I like to try any place that serves them. I've eaten at Chicken Express a LOT, mostly because there was one right next to the UNT campus. I love the breading on the chicken, perfectly crispy. The corn nuggets are my favorite side dish though! I've tried all the sides though, they're all good. The sweet tea is delicious! We were on the way home from Dallas back to Lubbock. We have always experienced good chicken E fast food. We all agreed that this would be the best place for us to stop. While we were waiting in line we noticed how upsetting the guy standing at the front counter looked. I even heard him say that he was upset because of a busy lunch rush. When my friend got his tenders they were very pink on the inside. Right before my boyfriend and I ordered we saw a man come up to the front counter who said that he accidentally got the wrong order. He handed it to the same male cashier and he just looked at the box and handed it to this other guy who's order it was after the previous guy had dug through it. The guy who's order it was politely declined the food because who wants food dug through by someone else? The male cashier than took the food and through it behind him on the counter and finished taking all the orders in line. Once finished he told someone next to him what had happened and than I assume that they started working on the order. The guy who accidentally took the other guys order got his food first while the other gentleman continued to wait on his food for another 15 mins. Finally the male cashier handed him his to go order and he barely mumbled sorry. This place had terrible customer service. The only reason it got 2 stars was because the food was decent. read more

Being a Midwesterner (Nebraska) transplanted to Desert Southwesterner (Arizona), this was indeed a treat! Popeyes is in Nebraska, and their gizzards are tops, because they are melt in your mouth tender, but the batter on these is phenomenal, but the gizzards are very chewy! The fried bone in breasts are out of this world juicy and flavorful! Biscuits are the bomb, gravy OMG great, and I'm no milk base gravy eater, it's usually GROSS, but I loved this! Fried pickles great! Mac and cheese nothing exciting, I make much better at home! Will be stopping again! read more

It might be called Chicken Express, but this place has the best catfish in town! The catfish dinners are amazing!!! Unfortunately, they only have packets of lemon juice instead of actual lemon slices, but it ends up okay. read more
