HI, BETH. HI, RALPH. HI, SLIM. HI, CECIL…read more.. My biscuits and gravy were, well, meh. But then Im from the West Virginia sticks where biscuits and gravy are an art form: huge, flaky, cat-head biscuits brushed with butter, a slight butter crispiness on the bottom and smothered in brown gravy made of a toasted-flour roux. Brown gravy, not this flour and milk stuff that tastes like flour and milk and feels on the tongue like Elmer's glue. What is wrong with this country?! ...anyway... But the real joy of eating here is the chatter of the guests, all seemingly friends who were born and raised here and will die here. I asked when I walked in where the restroom was. "On the right," came the answer from table 6. "There's a sign on the door", came another instruction as I reached for the wrong doorknob. As I rode my motorcycle away, I saw the ubiquitous golden arches on my left. There I would have had better biscuits and tastier gravy, but what fed me wouldnt have been nearly as good. Know what I'm saying?

A patriotic wall of military members is displayed on the wall. My server "BJ" was pleasant, interactive & professional, chatting with each regular local customer by name. Parking lot for customers is also a plus. My breakfast scramble was tasty-riffic. Other than the lack of counter-seating, "Carol's" as folks refer to it, is a "Run-A-Way Bill" Favorite eatery. The vibe and atmosphere was stellar. The staff were more than friendly and knew their craft beers! We tried some new flavors and were made undeniable fans. I ordered a plate of Duck Fat Fries. This is a total game changer! Even more so, dipping them golden fried sticks in Truffle Mayo... as Buford T. Justice would say... SUMBITCH. And that homemade ketchup? So good it made me want to go smack Junior's mama. We also ordered the Crawfish Dip. It was disgustingly scrumpdidallyumtious!!! Pure flavor profile explosion in my mouth. Never had anything like that before. My wife and I also decided to split a Smash Burger and that thick cut bacon with juicy beef patties... damn. One of the most memorable and satisfying experiences I've ever had, and I haven't even talked about the drinks. My eyes sparkled when I seen a Toasted Pecan Old Fashioned on the menu. A must try. ER MA GAWD!!! One of the best I've ever had... everrrrrr! We also ordered the Cinn-Full Cran Hard Cider by Locust... I now have to find this... just have to! My FIL ordered an ice cream treat with three spoons... lol. Everyone had to give it a try. We ended up ordering a growler of the State Street Blonde to go, and it lasted a day. Unbelievable. I'm heartbroken the place is closed, but will forever leave an impression of Texarkana for me. Thank you! As always, Enjoy & Happy Road-tripping!!

While passing through on a road trip, my local friend recommended Pecan Point and I'm glad I went. Located in downtown, you'll find free street parking in front of the restaurant. We were greeted as soon as we entered and the inside is spacious and casual. I ordered the raspberry Chipotle smash burger ($16), peach cobbler, and a flight of beer and cider ($10). What made this burger stand out was the raspberry Chipotle sauce and fried jalapeños! The flight includes four 4oz pours of any draught and mine were Irish red ale, Pecan Pointe ale, bock beer, and apple cider. The Irish red was my favorite and the Pecan Pointe my least. I would have liked the cobbler to be a little more crunchy, but was still enjoyable. I recommend and will visit again when in town.

The food was good and the manager came by to check on us. We had chicken and waffles, shrimp & grits, that turkey sandwich and a cinnamon roll. The shrimp & grits could have used a little bit more sauce, perhaps on the side. They had a few large TVs on as well to keep the kids attention. Overall, I would recommend this place. Happy hour looks good too.

A Must-Try Spot for Brunch Lovers!…read more This place quickly became one of my favorite spots for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The atmosphere is upbeat and welcoming--perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a solo meal with great vibes. The food? Fantastic. The menu is creative, fresh, and full of unique flavors that set it apart from your typical brunch fare. There are tons of thoughtful gluten-free options that actually taste amazing--not just the bare minimum. From inventive egg dishes to seasonal veggie sides, every bite felt intentional and flavorful. The service was equally impressive--friendly, knowledgeable, and super accommodating. Our server made great suggestions and made sure everything was just right, including pointing out which dishes could be made gluten-free. Bottom line: If you're looking for a fun, flavorful, and welcoming place for brunch or lunch, this one is worth every visit. I'll definitely be coming back!

We discovered them about 8 months ago while traveling through, needing some less processed options than typical eatout food, and tried it. Sooo glad we did! So now that we're in the area again we knew this is where we wanted to go. We even ordered extra meals to take with us for tomorrow! Ignore the lower star reviews bc they have nothing to do with quality (and no, the food is not bland)! If you want fancy highly processed and over seasoned gut burning food, don't go here - go to an impersonal restaurant serving commercial processed foods. Mother Kelley's is true homestyle flavors, meaning it's not fancy but it's home cooked comfort food (real ingredients) like my grandmother's was (mid 20th century); you'll love it!
