Ok, this place is delicious! The drive thru ordering does take a little while of a wait, but it's completely worth that wait! During my recent work trip to Benton Harbor, I came here because I wanted some chicken gizzards. I pulled up and ordered at the speaker...and waited. I ordered gizzards dinner with mac and cheese, mash potatoes, and broccoli bites. Upon getting to the window, the workers were very pleasant and got my order together as quickly as they could, but gizzards take a bit to fry correctly and completely so I was ok with the wait. The gizzards were fresh, delicious and perfectly seasoned. The mashed potatoes and gravy were ok. The mac and cheese...terrible. The broccoli bites were FANTASTIC! They tasted like perfect little fried bites of the best broccoli casserole. I have two more work trips to the area coming up and I can't wait to come back to get some more other this deliciousness. read more

Just moved here to area. Asked the manager Ware they hiring. He says yes, come fill out an application. So I arrived 2 days later. Ask counter lady for app. She stated manager outside. I walk up to him and inquire about job and he asked where I last worked. Next thing I know he starts trying to belittle me ( u ain't worked no where for a year) I step back and say I've been working over 23 years what you mean. I worked at Walmart over 5 years. He says come here I etc... I walked away and said I'll be back for the chicken. I'm not eating nothing from the devils kitchen if you talk to a grown woman, trying to work, with integrity, in a sling , like a kid. Sis Pat read more

Best place for fried food in Benton Harbor. The whole menu is good and they are exceptionally friendly! Best chicken coop ever..and if you have to wait, it's worth it. read more

Service was good food however was not . They changed the mashed potatoes to what tastes like instant mashed potatoes with the worst gravy possible . Green beans also not good . The chicken tasted good but a few hours later I became ill . Possibly mishandled chicken . Won't be back . Hardings chicken is better . I'd even eat Popeyes before this knowing they have roaches . read more

I'm not sure how I managed living 28 years and never had Chicken Coop. My husband and I were a bit nervous because we'd never been but when we told the employees they were super helpful. "We have the fire-est chicken in southwest Michigan" they told us. They asked us if we preferred white or dark meat and what pieces (thigh, breast, wings or drums). We ended up also getting fries, mashed potatoes and rolls. So basically we got a weeks worth of carbs in a single meal. The chicken was pretty good but I'm not sure I'd say it's the fire-est. The mashed potatoes were the standard mix from flakes but it tasted like they added extra butter which I was a fan of. The rolls were standard and not homemade so nothing above average. I didn't try the fries but my husband liked them. Overall I'd say while it's a pretty average chicken place, the employees is what would bring me back. read more

Great fish and great service. I ordered fish and I asked for one tartar sauce and that's what I got one instead of a handful. Of course it was the owner that waited on me. They have great cod and great chicken and lemon pie. read more

Simply delicious!! Only drive thru is open but made fresh and worth the wait! We tried the 8 piece chicken strips, fried okra, Mac n cheese, and sweet potato pie. I watched them pull the chicken strips and okra fresh from the oil but like my husband said they didn't taste greasy. This location is top notch with great service. read more

Worst experience ever. Not only did it take 29 minutes from the time I ordered a 3-piece dinner. While waiting for the food I witnessed an employee put cooked wings back in the fryer to reheat them. No reason or apology was given as to why it took so long to get the food. read more

Chicken Coop - Thank you!!! Chicken was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh!! - Chicken Shop Near Me - Benton Harbor, Michigan

Food was horrible and over priced. The customer service was a joke as well. The person was rude through the intercom. 12 wings and fries was $30 and the food was disgustin. 0/10 don't recommend read more

Chicken Coup in St Joseph was horrible. Chicken was over cooked, drinks had no ice. Waste of money.

I stopped at the drive thru to order cod. I asked how much for 3 pieces. The lady then yelled " MAM I DON'T KNOW THESE PRICES BY HEART YOU GOTTA HOLD ON A MINUTE " I said excuse me you said "can I take your order so I'm asking a question for my order. She never responded. I then heard a different voice give me the price and I ordered. When I pulled up to the window for my order. A nice lady, Mrs. Cynthia was at the window and she apologized. Whomever this young lady was? She needs to find another profession because customer service is not for her.. read more

The dining room was closed, drive thru only. The speaker shrieked so loud it hurt our ears. We could not understand eqch other so we gave up and left. Ended up going to KFC across the street. If you aren' t going to open the walk in at least make sure the drive thru works. read more

The chicken, green beans, & macaroni & cheese were good. My son enjoyed his wings and fries. The drinks were large. But, items on the menu were spelled incorrectly and I had to ask numerous times if they accepted debit cards which leads me to believe they need to make some updates. And, we weren't given any utensils which was annoying because I was in town to move my son out of his college dorm so we were in a hurry and much of his kitchen was packed. read more

Got several coupons for this place from the Superbook, so I decided to use 'em! 4 cod dinners later, I can truthfully say that it's a decent place for fried stuff. The fish needs to be drained better though (there's a napkin in the box that they lay the fish on), and the sides I chose were green beans (canned), fries (average) , and macaroni salad. Fish is always hot, but don't know if i'd pay full price. read more

I arrived 20 minutes before closing to order two orders of 6 wings and potato wedges. I was told they only had five wings left. Even though it takes less than 20 minutes cook the wings, the person in charge refused to drop enough for my order. I asked to talk to the owner, and the person that I was speaking to says that was their store. The reason they wouldn't make more wings, is because they had already cleaned up for the night. Why did they clean up 20 minutes before close?. Basically, the owner said I was just out of luck.Well, guess what? I think they are out of luck... I am a frequent visitor to this establishment, but I will not be going back. Owner stated that she didn't care what the customer thought... That's just the way it is. read more

I just went to get macaroni salad they have the best macaroni salad around town. And friendly cashier.
