family meal: two whole chicken, rice, plantains

I was being sooo LAZY, and decided to get two whole chickens as a family meal, black beans, double plantains, and chaufa rice. I meal prepped it for the entire week. It was pretty good! Highly recommend because im about to do the same for this upcoming week!!! Service was great, answered questions and even let me sample some drinks! I would come back and try other things!

Black beans, rice and chicken. This is their lunch special.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Staff is friendly enough and food came out pretty quick. Rice and black beans were delicious and so were the fried yucca and ripe plantain were plump and delicious. The chicken however, was a little dry. The prices for the sides seem a little high to me, otherwise, I would probably visit them more often.

Great food and service. I ordered the lomo saltado and it was really good. The portion was big enough. My mom ordered the chicken and she really liked it. The passion fruit it's good too, a little bit sweet but good. The best part are the sauces. There are 4 different kinds and all of the are amazing. My favorite was the yellow one. Service was really good and quick. The ladies at the front are very nice and attentive.

Came here after hearing about them with Latin Restaurant Weeks! The deal is $15 for a 1/4 chicken, 2 sides and a drink. I selected white meat for my chicken, my 2 sides were the sweet plantains and French fries. I also got the passion drink per the recommendation of the employee. Everything was really good. The chicken alone was seasoned well and really tender. You didn't need the salsas, but it did give the chicken a nice little kick. The plantains were on point. Def try their salsas, they have 3-red, green, and yellow. The employees were so nice and the restaurant was kept clean. Def come by and check out this great Peruvian restaurant!

Here at a conference and my friend suggested I try this spot for lunch and since I appreciate Peruvian food I decided to give it a try. Greeted well and I really wanted to practice my Spanish but was afraid of being laughed at, anyway. Nice little spot and the food was delicious and I had the lunch special: pollo con arroz y habas negras. Worth the stop!

Ever since seeing a photo of the Lomo Saltado dish on social media, I've been dying to try this restaurant and it didn't disappoint AT ALL! The dish looked just like it did in the photos and it tastes as good as it looks! The menu calls it a Lomo Saltado Bowl, but the dish comes on a plate, so that may be a tab bit confusing. The restaurant is quaint but has enough seating to accommodate a good number of typical-sized families. The service was wonderful and welcoming. If you're not used to the smokey, charcoal smell of a rotisserie you may be put off by it when walking in, but once you're seated and eating you'll be pulled into the experience. Great food worth a try!

LAZY DAY!!! Because I did not feel up to cooking a home cooked meal for me and hubby, I decided to place an online to-go order from this establishment. The online ordering process is super easy, but you must have a Chow account in order to place online orders with them. This is not our first experience trying their food. It's great Peruvian cuisine which we absolutely enjoy! Normally, my husband will pick up our order, but he was super busy on this particular day. Therefore, I decided this would be the perfect time for me to make an appearance and check them out personally for myself. This review has been a long-time coming. Firstly, when I arrived, the place was not busy. There was a couple dining in and it was nice and quiet. I don't recall hearing any music playing in the background. There was dim lighting which made for a relaxing ambience. They have TV monitors mounted on the wall for entertainment. The dining area was pretty clean and spacious. Customer service is top-notch. The lady that served me was extremely friendly and welcoming. My husband said that whenever he goes to pickup our orders, they're always friendly and nice to him. I'm glad that I was able to finally come and see for myself. Secondly, I ordered the Brasa burrito with salad for hubby and the two-piece rotisserie dark meat with black beans and Chaufa rice on the side for myself. I chose the green sauce and yellow sauce, which are complimentary on all orders. They also have a red sauce which is okay. By the way, their green sauce is my favorite one. It tastes so delicious when you dip the chicken in it or even if you drizzle a little on the Chaufa rice. OMG! DEE-LI-SHUSH! It has a semi-spicy cilantro flavor to it. My husband absolutely loves their Brasa burrito. It's filled with delicious pulled chicken, queso fresco, yellow sauce, Mexican cream, crispy onions, black beans, and chaufa rice all wrapped inside an enormous flour tortilla. He also favors the green sauce and likes to dip the burrito in it. As for the side of black beans, they're packed with flavorful deliciousness. NOW, for the rotisserie chicken, it's the best that I've ever tried in my life. It's also packed with mouth-watering, flavorsome, delectable, and unique Peruvian flavors. Furthermore, it's juicy, tender, and succulent! It's definitely a must-try! Hubby and I normally order their whole rotisserie dinners which are accompanied with three sides and six sauce flavors of your choice. Overall, I am a huge fan of their Peruvian cuisine. I think I will dine in one day, since their dining room is clean and spacious. Since hubby and I are always ordering the chicken and the Chaufa rice, we would like to try something different on the menu. However, their rotisserie chicken and Chaufa rice are the bees knees people! It's absolutely delicious! I rated them four stars because the Chaufa rice that they sold me was not fresh this go round. It's usually super fresh and piping hot. However, this time it was hard and the chicken that's in it was also hard, making it difficult to chew. Bomber, because it's my favorite side on the menu. Instead of replacing it with some fresh rice, they sold me some stale rice. I was highly disappointed. Since it was late in the evening and close to closing hours, I guess they didn't want to throw it out and make some fresh rice. Nevertheless, I am recommending anyone who enjoys great tasting food to give them a try. You will not be disappointed! You can also follow them on instagram @chickhouz for updates and to also witness some of their most delectable and mouth-watering Peruvian cuisines on display. By the way, they have a new Chick Houz location coming soon in the Tomball area.

Another one of those places I'd fly from California to Houston for (again, not really). Peruvian style rotisserie (roastisserie if you're a houstonian) chicken a la brasa, I usually go for the burrito but the lomo saltado is nice

Are you a fan of Peruvian Food? If you live in Houston, TX Chick Houz is the place to be! Peruvian food is all about spices and big flavors, some clean and crisp, others deep and heavy. Chick Houz offers a variety of chicken sandwiches, salads and rice-based dishes. The staff is very accommodating, they gave great suggestions of what to try. Here's a list of everything I recommend : Tray the signature beverages ( hibiscus ginger lemonade, passion fruit, and chicha morada) Chick Salad Rotisserie Chicken Pollito Sandwich A Lo Pobre Bowl Lomo Saltado Bowl Yucca Fries Brasa Burrito Churros Chocolate Cake 3 Leches Cake With two locations and a third on the way customers have a lot to look forward to

Excellent food and friendly service. The green sauce is spicy and elevates the burrito to its full potential. Definitely recommend!

This time I called in an order for tallarines saltados and two whole chickens for my family. They told me it would be ready in an hour, which was fine. When I arrived to pick it up, the owner handed me the food and casually said he replaced my tallarines with lomo saltado -- without asking me first. He said it was "a better choice" and that they were out of tallarines. I told him clearly that I did not want lomo saltado, but he kept insisting, so I just took it to avoid arguing. When we got home, the real problem started -- both chickens were undercooked, tough, and hard to chew. It was so bad that I told my kids and family not to eat any of it, and I ended up throwing everything in the trash. I paid good money for this meal, and we didn't get to eat at all. Changing an order without consent and serving raw chicken is not acceptable. I won't be coming back.

For many years, I have passed this restaurant. The server told me it had been there for 12 years,…read morewhich seems actually shorter than my recollection, but I won't argue the point. Why it took me so long to get here however is a mystery to me because it's a lovely restaurant. I don't mean by that the ambience it's actually rather plain however the service and the food is absolutely spectacular. I'm by no means an expert in Peruvian food however the patrons were buying for Peruvian hence I'm going to take their presence as a statement about authenticity of the food and a 12 year history. They don't sell alcohol so all of their profits are from dishes, which are absolutely spectacular. We had something a kin to an empanada, which was made with beef deep fried, but the crust was very white and very flavorful. The server gave me a side dip which added some spice to the meal however, before putting it on, I ate some without the dip and it was very flavorful. Potatoes, rice and beans are a large part of Peruvian cuisine all of which I tasted here all of which were very, very good. We got basically a sampler tray which included ceviche beef, chicken, and a potato bean combination, which was just wonderful. The waiter was kind enough to point it out to us and I'm glad he did because it was a great overview of what Peruvian food is. Since I'm not familiar with the cuisine rather than spend a great deal of time addressing it what I'm going to tell you is, it is a wonderful restaurant, the service is equally wonderful, BYOB and enjoy yourself. I will not let so much time go again before I revisit this fine Restaurant. It was a pleasure.
