The atmosphere was really nice. Could have been a little bit cooler, but it was hot outside, so I am sure the air was doing the best it could to keep the place cool.

It's a cute little wing place with lots of antique looking signs on the walls. As I'm looking at the menu on the wall, the "too cool for school" dude behind the counter was ready to ring me up before I even ordered. The girl asks "first time in here?". It had been all of about 30 seconds since I got to the counter and with nobody else in the place not sure why the rush. The truth is, I had been here before but it's been a while and I was looking at the list of wing flavors looking for lemon pepper, which is not on the menu. The guy points to the counter in front of him and says, the menu is right here. I mean, I could see the menu on the wall just fine. I ordered the 10 piece wing combo with fries, a sweet tea, 1/2 Garlic Parmesan and the other 1/2 Sweet Red Chili and the girl says "That's a good one!"-referring to the Sweet Red Chili sauce. The guy points to the sides and says, "Pick 2". I said, "Two? It comes with 2 sides?" He confirms. So I said, "Ok add the Mac n Cheese" and he asks if I want any additional sauces. I said just Ranch and some Ray Ray Sauce for the fries. He rings me up and repeats back, "10 Nugget Combo". I corrected him with "10 Wing Combo" and he re-rings the order, I pay and go have a seat. The girl goes into the kitchen, comes back out and says they are all out of the Sweet Red Chili sauce so I ordered the Stingin Honey Garlic. When the girl brings me the order, it's the 10 Wing Combo with Mac n Cheese and no Fries. I asked about the Fries and we looked at my order which said 10 Wing Combo-Mac n Cheese. I told her that the guy at the counter told me to pick 2 sides but no big deal since I got what I paid for (or so I thought-people count your wings!) and it was just miscommunication. Once I sat down to eat, there was no other interaction with the staff. I did notice the floor had dried up sauce in various places and the floor could use a good cleaning. About the food. The Mac n Cheese was served hot and it's basically noodles with velveeta cheese sauce which is fine for this type of establishment but I remember the other time I had visited, the Mac n Cheese was served in a cup and it had actual cheese melted on the top. The Garlic Parmesan Wings were amazing. Just how I remembered them from last time. The wings weren't served as hot as they should've been (IMO), but seemed like they had been precooked earlier in preparation for the Rush. The Garlic Parm wings had a generous amount of sauce on them. The Stingin Honey Garlic wings did not have enough sauce on them. Some parts of the chicken didn't have any sauce on them at all. The tea was good. And now that I'm uploading pictures, I see they only gave me 8 wings. 5 of the Garlic Parm and 3 of the Stingin Honey Garlic. I paid for 10, the receipt is shown in the picture. Just took another star off. Really wanted to give them at least 3 stars.

My go-to flavors are Golden Original, Spicy Original, and Soy Garlic--they're all packed with flavor. One of my favorite things is the crunchiness. My kids love it just as much as I do, so it's definitely a family favorite for us. My only complaint is the price. I really wish it were a little more affordable because I'd definitely order more and probably come more often! Overall, great flavor, amazing crunch, and consistently good chicken.

Recently ordered an 8-piece boneless chicken box. When I picked it up, the counter person asked if I wanted a sauce with my order. I told him that I do not like sweet or honeyed chicken, but do like spicy. He said "all of our sauces are sweet". I asked if there were any other options and he said, "ranch". Sold! And it was good likely house - made ranch dressing. Once home I took a bite of this wonderful fried chicken, dipped in ranch dressing. It was really yummy. However, when I looked at the area where I bit, it was red/raw. Undercooked. There were seven pieces left so I decided to check them for doneness. Three pieces were wings, from very tiny chickens, each with a strip of skin. It was all fried and too thin to be undercooked. I cut the remaining four pieces in half, length-wise and all of them were red/raw in the middle. If the chicken were slathered with sauce, you would not notice, but just in case, ask for "well-done" when you order to make certain. I put the four pieces into our air fryer and they came out fine. If you like sweet sauces, honey sweet sauces, this is your place. The chicken is excellent, but order well done.

Yepper, here they are (although I think Monroe has exceptionally wonderful staff at the vast majority of client facing businesses). One of the perks of living here! This second location is coming up on plane and seems to have found it's groove. Increasingly popular on the east end of Roosevelt Blvd (a.k.a. Hilltop), I wouldn't hesitate to frequent when hungry. Food is good as expected, too. Pro tip: dine-in option available. Go here.

The Waffle fries were the hottest I think I had ever had and it was a full large fry. Some other locations only fill them halfway. Service couldn't had been better. It only took five minutes to receive my order and when the associate brought it out she apologized for the long wait and I said no the wait was only five minutes. She was so sweet. When it was time to leave, I went up and asked to speak to the manager but I noticed he was on his dinner break so I said don't bother him. I ended up speaking with one of the lead associates, and I let her know how great everything was and how much I appreciated the great customer service and that my dinner was perfect. This location is definitely an example for other Chick-fil-A 's to follow. This was only my seventh time at this location and every time has been very good. No complaints. The restaurant was very clean and all the associates were very friendly and checked on me twice to see if I needed anything.

I went through the drive-thru around 4:30 p.m. and ordered the 5 piece Slim's Meal. The parking lot was nearly empty, and there was no one ahead of me. My food was handed to me almost immediately, but when I got home less than five minutes later, the fries were cold and the chicken tenders were hard, chewy, and not even lukewarm. Their tenders are usually fresh, hot, and crispy. This meal tasted like it had been sitting for a while. The service was disappointing, too. There was no greeting. Just a smug,"can I get your name?" I could barely hear the employee as she was taking my order. After ordering, I drove around to the window. Still...no greeting or even a smile. Like her goal was to put forth as little effort as possible. My cold fries were warmer than the welcome... I understand that everyone has an off day, but this isn't the first time I've received less than exceptional customer service at Slim Chickens. On one recent occasion, my husband and I walked in and waited at the register while an employee who had seen us come in continued wiping tables. I do appreciate the fact that she was cleaning, but she was in no hurry to take our order. When she eventually came over, WE were the ones who greeted her. The least she could have said is,"welcome in." This hasn't been my experience with every employee, but it has happened often enough that I've noticed a pattern. Customers shouldn't feel like an inconvenience. I'd love to see more attention paid to both the food being served and the way customers are greeted, because I know Slim Chickens can do better. I hope management puts more emphasis on training their staff on friendly, attentive service. I'm not asking anyone to be cheerful every second of a shift, but a greeting and the sense that customers are welcome should be a basic standard. Your employees are the face of the restaurant and often a customer's first impression. How they're trained and treated matters, and it shows in the experience they give customers.
