Their tenders are usually fresh, hot, and crispy. This meal tasted like it had been sitting for a while. The service was disappointing, too. There was no greeting. Just a smug,"can I get your name?" I could barely hear the employee as she was taking my order. After ordering, I drove around to the window. Still...no greeting or even a smile. Like her goal was to put forth as little effort as possible. My cold fries were warmer than the welcome... I understand that everyone has an off day, but this isn't the first time I've received less than exceptional customer service at Slim Chickens. On one recent occasion, my husband and I walked in and waited at the register while an employee who had seen us come in continued wiping tables. I do appreciate the fact that she was cleaning, but she was in no hurry to take our order. When she eventually came over, WE were the ones who greeted her. The least she could have said is,"welcome in." This hasn't been my experience with every employee, but it has happened often enough that I've noticed a pattern. Customers shouldn't feel like an inconvenience. I'd love to see more attention paid to both the food being served and the way customers are greeted, because I know Slim Chickens can do better. I hope management puts more emphasis on training their staff on friendly, attentive service. I'm not asking anyone to be cheerful every second of a shift, but a greeting and the sense that customers are welcome should be a basic standard.
