All I could think about was a foot-long from the Dog House. After a great cruise and a stop at the museum at Dover Air force base I made it to New Castle. Making the merge onto RT13 I could the sign ahead of me. Parking can be tough but there was spot out front. I did notice the sign has changed, again. My father had been taking me here since 1969. It was our place to go on our Saturday trips from Jersey since it is a sales tax free state. After walking in I couldn't help notice how the inside had changed (last time here was 2021). If you think it has a nostalgic feel now, you have seen it in the '80s and '90s. They have taken down all the hand painted signage and replaced the menu board with a modern one, dang. I just hope they don't plan on franchising the place. I managed to grab a seat at the counter and in no time I was placing my order. All in all, the food is still done the same. Dogs split and grilled on the flat top and the fries are great with their own signature seasoning. If you are in the area and wanting a great foot-long or even a burger please stop in, you won't be disappointed. Peace.

I ordered a taco salad and they whipped it out very quickly, within a few minutes after I completed my order. Then I saw that some assembly was required. No problem. I added the salsa and sour cream to the vegetables but set the chili and chips aside to eat later. Overall, I thought it was okay by fast food standards but not the biggest bargain.
