I didn't even know where I was while on a road trip to Durham, NC but when I see a Chick-fil-A it's like a lighthouse beacon in the dark. Stopped in and discovered I was in Glen Allen, VA. That surprised me. The friendliness of the cashier and staff, plus the amount of people eating lunch at 2:00 PM in the afternoon, did not surprise me. I ordered ahead through the app, pulled up to the drive thru, and got my food. The service was friendly as always, and my food was fresh. My only complaint was that I ordered a spicy deluxe with NO PICKLES and ADD BACON *upcharge), and naturally I got NO BACON, but definitely PICKLES (YUCK!) Otherwise, no issues. The waffle fries topped off a great sandwich along with 1/2 & 1/2 tea!! My daughter ordered the kids meal, chicken nuggets for her! We also got a cup of small soft serve ice cream, so refreshing! As usual, everything ran like clockwork, during COVID, touchless payment and delivery of our meals on a tray. This company has customer service down to a science and could really be a business model for many other fast food chains! They train their employees to be polite, efficient and accommodating. Heartbroken...first awful experience in a Chick-fil-A. Stopped for ice dream and after a very slow ordering process and a wait the tray was slapped on our table without a word. The cups were half full and the ice dream looked like it had been mixed and frozen in the cup long before serving. When we asked for new ones they ARGUED with us!!! Then the employees started griping among themselves saying we were wrong, etc. What happened to "I'm sorry, let me fix this" and "My pleasure" when thanked??? Sad to say that the service at this Chick fil a is very lacking compared to others that I frequent. Not a very good first impression when you are ignored by an employee who is standing at the register, no line, and a manager standing right there also oblivious to the fact that customers are standing there hopeful to get noticed. Not well managed at all. 99.9% of my experiences are positive at other chik fil a's but this morning for breakfast after I ordered 2 breakfast meals our person told us that they could no longer take breakfast orders and said sorry our manager just yelled no more breakfast. We arrived 10:28 and right at 10:30 in the middle of ordering they said sorry you can only order lunch. So very poor customer service and not to mention frustrating. The bonus was that we had our pup with us and requested a small bowl for her to drink some water. Chic Fil A does it right. Who else has cars lined up 2 or 3 rows? Whether you are in the Glen Allen, VA Center Area, or Rome Georgia, or on Mechanicsville at either location you CAN NOT get a better chicken sandwich, ever. This particular location is not close to me, we pass 2 other locations, as it is convenient to my parent's home. When my father became a widower, he frequented this location. The sweet people who work there, would recognize his car and always had his milk shake ready for him, or his Chic Fil A sandwich. Now that is service. I generally order on the app, and park. Or I park and then order . I'm not in a hurry. CFA should be enjoyed. Not gulped. Truett Cathy (the founder) built a wonderful brand. I don't want to get into any social or political discussions regarding CFA. I am accepting of all people. And all CFA's. I like good food, and on occasion I will choose to grab a CFA and enjoy it. Their food is always hot, their iced tea is always delicious, if they forget a straw, it's ok. It's just a straw. An absolutely filthy place. The food was great, as usual, but the cleanliness was dreadful. The bathrooms were nasty and hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The floors were very greasy and most of the employee's uniforms looked dirty. Overall, the place looked really dirty and left me feeling that the kitchen was probably even worse off. Compared to other fast food places Chick-fil-A normally is the gold standard when it comes to cleanliness; although not at this location. With two little kids, we stop by pretty often, and I can say, they have never once gotten our order right. Which is pretty crazy considering how consistent Chick-fil-A's service usually is. Well, this one consistently gets the order wrong. If you're in the Glen Allen area and in the mood for Chick-fil-A, go to the one on Times Dispatch Blvd. They'll give you what you ordered. Several days ago I had a very nasty, rude little cashier remind that she could care less about the service Chic Fil A provided to me and even less about her interest uh resolve. I went through the drive through and ordered a meal to include sweet tea. I decided to park and eat outside the restaurant. The tea was unsweetened.. No big deal. Mistakes happen. I went inside explained that the tea given to me was unsweetened. The rude cashier looked at the cup and said well it says it's sweet! I said well it's not. She then offered to pour it out then give me more. I said that would be nice. When she handed me the tea she said if that's not sweet enough you can stop by and put sugar packs in your cup! First of all nowhere in the tops say sweet tea. So she lied when she told me that.z second she acted as if I did something wrong by asking for a replacement! However, instead of addressing her directly I went to my car and filed a complaint at chic fil a's complaint center. I was advised Howe Rice would be calling me. I decided to go back inside and also speak with the manager in duty. She said she would have Howe Rice call me the next day when he returned to the restaurant. He never called! I have been patronizing this location since 2011!!! I think it's sad that workers feel troubled when they don't give customers what we've paid for and we request corrections! I think it's horrible that my complaint went unaddressed and even worst that Howe Rice failed to return my call as I asked! I'll gladly take my business where it's appreciated! Still love the service and the food and appreciate the 'normal' business hours. Everything in my previous review stands. Additions: I do wish they would serve minis all day and I'm not a huge fan of the designer salads over their previous selections. I never eat the crunchy pepper salad topping but I loved when they had sunflower kernels. I liked my chicken salad sandwich grilled but they don't do that anymore either. This is the dirtiest Chick-fil-A I've ever been too. The women's bathroom had the toilet paper roll laying on the floor, wads of napkins on the floor and was generally dirty. When I got my food, a chicken biscuit, the chicken was chewy and the breading was not cooked all the way. While waiting in line to exchange my food, I witnessed Valerie have the worst attitude with everybody, complaining about literally everything, she was short with the cooks in the back and the cashier, I couldn't imagine working in such a toxic work environment. Every time someone asked her a question she was bothered, somebody else has to do it she told one person, it was horrible watching everyone around her just quietly accept her crappy attitude. She was the one to hand me my food as her long, unsecured ponytail swung around she shoved my bag towards me, none of the customary Chick-fil-A niceties.
