Came here on a weekday night close to closing - got the puochong tea with boba, no sugar no ice, no flavoring. The tea was pretty good, has a flavor I've never had before (and I've had a lot of tea). Each cup is made to order, which is probably why it's so expensive (cups are smaller than other bubble tea places and the same price). Lots of boba, cooked perfectly and chewy. And the best part is that they have tea leaves samples for you smell if you ask about the teas. The Cassia tea has chocolate notes and goes well with the cream. I also enjoy their taro series. I was today years old when I learned that Michelin-starred boba shops are a thing, and after visiting Chicha San Chen for the first time, I can see why. Chicha San Chen is a famous Taiwanese boba shop that has only two US locations: San Francisco, CA, and Duluth, GA. And WOW, are we lucky to have one here in the ATL area. First off, the novelties: 1) Awarded the equivalent of three Michelin stars by the International Taste Institute 2) They have the only (to my knowledge) tea-presso machine, which is like an espresso machine but instead of dialing in and pulling shots of espresso, it brews tea in a fraction of the time that it would take to steep, without sacrificing the taste or potency. Watching this work in real time was an EXPERIENCE. 3) They do high tea and serve samples of the high tea pick of the day; when we went in, I got to try the high mountain pouchong green tea with orange. Talk about refreshing! Okay, now onto the taste: my go-to order when trying a new boba shop is a standard bubble milk tea (black) because I want to see how they do the standard. And omg, I was sold after the first sip because never have I ever had a boba with such a strong, real, tea flavor. I could actually TASTE the black tea. It lowkey made every other boba I've had up to this point seem like a watered-down, sugary excuse for a drink that pales in comparison to the real deal. The boba pearls were also soft and chewy and, remarkably, stayed that way until the very end. You won't find artificial tastes or powders here. This is the real deal. Nothing but a gimmick lol. It's more expensive than other places and the tea flavor is lacking. We also had to wait 20+ mins to get our order when it wasn't even that busy. I think ChiCha San Chen is one of the best boba places in Georgia! It is pretty minimalistic and aesthetic inside, and it is super busy most days. However, I do think that the wait is worth it... even if it is super crowded inside and there are little seating options. You can also tell that the tea is really high quality here, which is probably why the drinks are pretty expensive. I always get the Passionfruit Green Tea because I am a big fruit tea person and it always hits the spot! I do not get toppings with my drink, but I think there are basil seeds or something similar that automatically come with my drink. It all tastes very light and refreshing. read more

I feel like I'm starting to get a little boba crazy, but hearing about this place, it's the new boba spot. With a new boba spot, everyone needed to check it out. So waiting for two months, we finally got a chance to come here. Once, we came out right before school started and they were still line out the door! I finally got the chance to come and made sure to come at opening so they didn't have any lines. I can see how this place is so popular. When I came in I was met with nice staff who poured me a sample of their black tea. The tea was flavorful, so I could expect their oolong would be flavorful. So the menu here is set up with light teas on the upper half of the menu, and the bottom half of the teas are darker teas where it's mixed with usually milk. The lighter teas would usually have fruit or other types of flavors, passion fruit, mango, etc. The menu was kind of confusing, but the staff member explained it pretty well. I got the oolong tea, but with cream instead. And with the cream, it was a different flavor than just milk. I like that ChiCha San Chen gave different milk types and it really changes the flavor of the drink. That was something that I have never seen before. I got it with boba, and when I drank it, the boba was soft and had some qq. It was great. However, I would say with how busy they are, this place can be checked out only when there's no line which it might be a while unless you just go during a different time. Paying $7 drink, has gotten crazy, but I think ChiCha is a place that should be tried as their tea is on a different level and you can really taste it. read more

This was one of the coolest BT bars I've been to. The place was so modern, with a cool decor...and had this bold, eery lighting, giving a nearly "Clockwork Orange" vibe! Their drinks were very unusual as well....and in a way, a bit convoluted?? Too much customization required when ordering?? In any case, I ordered 2 flavors to go...Ding Dong Oohlong Tea Latte and Honey Osmanthus Oohlong Tea. I could be wrong, but it seemed that they only had these drinks in small sizes (??). The thing I liked was that they had these cups in these fun carry pouches with holders...very unique idea! As for the little drinks themselves...I loved both flavors! This place clearly takes tea and boba seriously, so it's no surprise that their bubble tea is really good. They have some of the best boba I've ever had. For a really popular place, they move quickly, so even though there's a line it doesn't feel interminable. The only thing I didn't love is that everything on their menu either has caffeine or dairy. Chicha is definitely the best bubble tea spot in Georgia now - I'm so impressed at the tea quality and drinks consistency. Most other new places kind of merge together and don't stand out, but Chicha deserves the hype. They give a sample of one of their drinks every day, and every time it makes me change my mind from what I was going to order to whatever I sampled. The teas are very premium and every drink I've had has been very good, with strong tea flavor. Their menu includes a top ten list of 10 mixed drinks, and you can also choose to combine a base tea with toppings or add-in (milk or cream, etc). The tapioca pearls are great, and I also like their taro balls, which are more mochi-like. I also really like their fruit flavored drinks, like the orange or lemon pouchong tea. I ordered the Bubble Volcano and the boba topping came warm and fresh! Very chewy and yummy! The drink is similar, less sweet version of a brown sugar milk tea. Every ingredient tasted fresh and delicious. It seems to be emptier on weekdays so if you are not one for crowded places, try your luck on the weekdays! It was so nice being able to take in the beautifully decorated tea shop. Lights are bright and the shop is well decorated! I've been seeing this new Taiwanese tea house pop up on social media and naturally, I had to pay a visit. They're a Michelin-rated boba place and I can totally see why! The line was out the door at 2 pm on Saturday. Bring your patience because you'll be waiting awhile to place your order and for getting your order. Price wise, I thought their drinks are about average. Not too expensive for the quality you get. Each drink is handcrafted and you can tell with every sip. They have a daily tea ceremony and you're offered free tasting of said tea. That day was the osmanthus oolong tea with passion fruit and I loved it so much that's what I ended up ordering with light ice and less sweet. I loved that it was paired with actual passion fruit seeds so it was sweet and tangy. It was packed waiting for our order and waited quite awhile. My one criticism is wish they had a speaker of some sort because it was hard to hear that your number is called. read more

This place is about to make me lose all my money :') For someone who LOVES boba, this place was 10/10 The boba was cooked to perfection. Not too soggy and not undercooked. Heads up: Because they have the boba freshly cooked and in the pot it does make the bottom of your drink hot so if you ask for "less ice" your drink will get warm quick Went in when there was a big line and it was well worth the wait. There may be limited seating inside but the flow seemed to go pretty quickly. Yes the drink is pretty over priced but you're paying for the quality. Teas are brewed fresh and its not overpowered by syrup or other flavoring. They have a free tea tasting session in the back of the cafe every few minutes. The best milk tea/fruit tea store ever! They give you a sample to try, and I HIGHLY recommend the Green milk tea with Cream or the Classic fruit tea. The green tea is extremely fragrant with floral notes, it is the best green milk tea I had ever had. It is sweet, refreshing, and so flavorful! The classic fruit tea is similar, it is really refreshing and fruity with slices of apple, lime, and crunchy passion fruit seeds that give texture contrast to the drink. I also really enjoyed this tea. I also had the Black milk tea with cream and it was also good and aromatic, but not particularly special. The service is amazing, they are all really friendly, professional, and kind. They also again give free samples to try! Checked out CHICHA San Chen when I was in the area today. The space is nice and well-decorated. You get a sample of the highlighted drink before ordering. Drinks: * Orange High Mountain Pouchong Tea ($6.50) * Bubble Milk Tea ($7.50) * Bubble Volcano ($7.25) None of the drinks we tried was impressive. The boba was good and chewy...but the milk tea wasn't special. The Orange High Mountain Pouchong Tea tasted like watered-down orange juice. Our 2 Bubble Volcano drinks were forgotten, so we had to wait even longer. It was very frustrating to see the people who ordered after us received their drinks before our number was called. Service: OK. Service is slow. We waited at least 5 min to order. Then, it took 20 min to get our drinks. I understand that each drink is made to order, but this was on a Monday afternoon. I can't imagine the wait on the weekends. Also, be careful using the string carrier you see in the photos - we saw a guy grab his drink by the string and almost spill one whole drink because the cup wasn't properly secured. Pretty good tea. Chicha San Chen is one of the new tea shop chains that's been spreading through US. It's a famous Taiwanese tea shop where they use hand picked leaves. I went for their soft opening in Duluth and the line was out the door. I went 1 hour into their opening and I waited 20 minutes to order and 35 minutes to get my order while I've heard that some have waited 3 hours for their whole experience. They were well staffed and while they were cranking up the orders, it just couldn't match the demand. I got swayed when i overheard the people behind me talking about bobba that I ordered Bubble Volcano. While the bobba consistency was great, I would stick to the tea as that's their speciality. For my second drink I got the Honey Osmanthus Oolong Tea and while we asked for less sugar, I do think they messed up the order because it was so so sweet. That did deter me a bit but my gracious friend got us a drink the next day to give it another chance. I got to try the orange and mango high mt pouchang tea. While orange one was more citrusy, I loved loved the mango! Will definitely be going back to try other items once all the hype goes down but definitely can see and taste the quality tea. They also have tea tasting area where you make appt for it for those that are interested. It was complimentary for the soft opening but I think it does have a fee. read more

Finally got to try the Michelin recommended boba in the area! There was a line to order, but it wasn't too bad. The cashier was very nice and provided tea samples and was patiently explaining the teas. I tried the fruit tea this time, and it was pretty good, although I don't think I quite understand the whole "Michelin recommended" part about it because it does seem like any higher quality boba you can get in the area. The tea espresso machines were really cool though, and I do think the technique is definitely unique. This is probably the most hyped boba in town right now so naturally I had to go check it out. I've had family in town a lot recently, so I've picked up a couple different drinks for my family 5 times over the past couple weeks. Each time we've been impressed. There's generally a line here, but the staff moves impressively quickly. On one of my visits I counted 40 people waiting ahead of me yet it only took 30 mins for my order of 6 drinks to come out. When you order they offer you a free sample, and towards the back of the shop, there's a station for a free tea tasting every 20 minutes. They have a list of the most popular drinks so I generally just order drinks from the list. So far I haven't had any that I didn't like. You can definitely taste the freshness of the tea leaves. I read that they grind the leaves for 10 seconds then brew for 60 seconds. You can see the staff very carefully measuring, timing, and checking temps of everything as they're making the drinks. Even with all the steps, they move very quickly and efficiently to get you your order. It seems there's an employee for each step of the process. Although you can customize sugar and ice level, I've ordered the drinks with regular ice and regular sugar, and the sweetness is perfect as is. Price is pretty standard at about $7-8 a drink however there is only one size and it's pretty small to be honest. That's my only complaint! I wish the cup had more sizes or that price was maybe $1 or so cheaper to reflect the small cup size. read more

The ambiance was vibing. So many people were ordering and it was super busy. Not too bad though. I only waited for about 10 minutes. My sister told me about this newest trend that's fresh from Taiwan. I highly recommend it. It's in front of Teso and the rest of the restaurant. Took me a minute to find it.
