The guy tries selling me on a rug pad for $75. While he's selling me on this I go on Amazon and find the same one for $18. I tell him I'm going to pass and he made it sound like I was silly for not taking his offer. I pick up rug a week later, check out my bill and see I'm charged for $144. I call and ask how and to break down the price. Everything that was quoted to me was wrong. I even called a second time after appointment to get quote and it was the same price. Set expectations with your customers, double the quote is not the business model you should be going for.

My plumber recommended I call ServiceMaster by Zaba to clean up the damage. The process was more complex than I thought, the burst pipe was on the second floor bathroom, there was damage on the second floor but the first floor and basement suffered more damage. Interesting thing about water is that it travelers in the weirdest direction and can cause extensive damage. Needless to say once ServiceMaster came out they did an inspection, spoke with my insurance company and began their work. I have a small child at home, my husband and I both work from home on occasion so this was on overwhelming situation. ServiceMaster did a great job, they were fast, efficient, and professional. There was a lot of damage in my home so I had to be placed in a hotel for a few weeks. They completed their services quickly, they also packed our belongings and took them to the hotel for us. They are going to be starting the reconstruction of our home this week. So far I am impressed and satisfied with their work. ServiceMaster by Zaba is a great company, I would recommend them to friends and family. I worked with a lot of the staff but my point of contact were Joseph and Alecia, everyone was wonderful and very accommodating.

Maurice from ProTech Restoration came out to assess the damage and to determine if I needed mold remediation services. His assessment was that I should just have the damaged part of the subfloor removed around the toilet. If there was evidence of mold on the underside of the subfloor, or on the joists, to contact him for a re-assessment. Maurice even suggested that I send him a few pictures after the subfloor was removed for him to review. It was determined that all I needed was a partial replacement of the subfloor. I appreciated Maurice's honest professional opinion. He could have easily suggested services that I did not actually need. I hope I never have a need for mold remediation services, but if I do, or if I know anyone who needs this service, I know I will recommend ProTech for an assessment.
