I already consulted our general vet and they mentioned it was due to the medication he was on that was making him this way. I just felt like something wasn't right and wanted to see another doctor just in case. I searched around online for the closest one to see if they would schedule us in on the same day but alot of places were not taking in any new patients. I called right when they opened and I believe I spoke with Dr. Beauchamp and explained what was going on with my boy. I was very grateful that she was able to squeeze me in on the same day. Dr. Beauchamp and their team provided such respect and care to my boy. They took a look at him and told me that he did not look well and was needed to be admitted to the hospital right away. Everything was explained to me very thoroughly and answered all the questions I had. Unfortunately, there was alot of complications going on with him that day and he didn't make it. I am extremely thankful that Dr. Beauchamp followed up with me via phone call to see how he was and did not charge me for our first visit. If we were ever to get another pet, I will be 100% taking them here.

My dog was neutered 1 week ago. Since then he has had complication after complication. 1st a bad reaction to a prescribed medication causing him to diarrhea blood for days- when we went in to address his diarrhea and dehydration there was an attempt to sell me on a fecal test for Giardia when this was CLEARLY a reaction to the medication. Then the Dr "FORGOT" to give him fluids for dehydration and sold me 3 cans of food to take home to help him. Luckily, I looked into the ingredients of the food further and realized that it contained chicken which he is allergic to. No comment at this appointment on the state of his incision. 2- Luckily because I am a nurse myself I continuously assessed his incision site and noticed that there was a severe hematoma starting to look black. I immediately called the vet to let them know that the tissue was beginning to look necrotic and he was an increased pain. They requested a photo- I sent the photo for an opinion and they NEVER RESPONDED.. 3-We went to the emergency vet they said that the incision looked extremely abnormal and that we should follow up with our vet bc he will likely need a second surgery. 4- We go back to the vet because I followed up 2 DAYS after the picture was sent and Dr asks if I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A QUOTE FOR A LASER to try to bring back life to the dying tissue. Due to my pushback, they did the laser for free. I still walked out paying $85 for more pain medication because it is now required since he's having ongoing pain due to this complication. The doctor then stated that if the tissue does not get better, he will definitely need another surgery which I am sure they are thrilled to charge me for. Not only is this place an extreme money grab, half of the staff is rude and the bedside manner is CRAZY. I brought my dog in because he was clearly in pain and one of the vet techs was grabbing his cheeks, smooshing his face around aggressively saying how cute he is when he's VISIBLY uncomfortable. I'M SO THANKFUL THAT WE DECIDED TO GO WITH A RECOMMENDATION FOR HIS NOSE AND PALATE SURGERY BECAUSE I'M CONFIDENT THAT IF WE HAD SEEN A RANDOM SURGEON AT THIS LOCATION , WE WOULD'VE HAD WAY WORSE COMPLICATIONS OR ACCORDING TO OTHER REVIEWS MAY HAVE LOST OUR DOG. Save your money and go somewhere that isn't private equity and actually cares about their patients not just $$$$$!

Dr. Gonsky called us back within the hour. We described her symptoms and he said that he could already tell that she would require testing and care that he could not provide in-home...so why pay the fee for the visit? He suggested we take her to Veterinary Emergency Services (on Clybourn...whom we'd been to before and LOVE...but that's another review). Sure enough, about 200 ML of fluid were surrounding her lungs. They drained the fluid and, with all of the pressure alleviated, she ate for the first time in 3-4 days. They ran tests. She ended up at McKillip Animal Hospital (again, another review) for treatment. She seemed better, but we still canceled a trip to the East Coast to keep an eye on her. Fast-forward to 1 1/2 weeks later: the symptoms are back. We take her back to McKillip. More tests. We are presented with options for treatment. Clara HATES the vet. Hell, Clara HATES being anywhere beyond her yard. We are faced with a series of REALLY difficult decisions. We know, in our hearts, that we are about to lose her. We decide that if we are going to relieve her of her pain and struggle, if we are going to euthanize her, we want to do it at home, with us, where she is comfortable. 2 weeks to the day of our original call to Dr. Gonsky we call him again and give him the history of her treatment over the past 2 weeks. In a nutshell he says, "I'll come over tonight and have a look at her and you can decide then what you want to do". He didn't come over with a goal in mind, he came to our house, at 8:30 on a Wednesday night, to give us a second opinion. It was as we thought. He waited patiently in our living room while we went on the back porch, teary-eyed, to make our final decision. He explained the procedure: he will give her a shot of valium to relax her. Then he will give her the shot that will end her sweet and beautiful little life. I sat on the couch, with her in my lap, petting her, as we've done a million times, my husband next to me, when she was given the valium....and then she just went. She just went...looking at me. He didn't even need to give her the second shot. Dr. Gonsky said he'd never seen this. It's almost as though, in the moment we gave her the option to just relax, she made her decision on her own. I don't even think we realized, until that moment, how much she'd actually been suffering. For what it was...and it was awful...it was the best, most comfortable and most beautiful way it could've been done. Doctor Gonsky took Clara with him and said that she would return to us (we'd opted to have her cremated) within the week. She did. One week after that we received a card from the Companion Animal Memorial Fund (of the College of Veterinary Medicine, UIUC from where Dr. Gonsky received his degree) informing us that a monetary donation had been made to them from Dr. Gonsky, in Clara's name, to further companion animal research at the school. WOW. He hadn't mentioned he'd be doing this. I cannot recommend Dr. Gonsky highly enough. He was informative, responsive, attentive, cautious, professional, personable, conscientious, compassionate (and then some)...the list goes on.

I noticed that the medication given was not enough and mentioned it to the doctor. She reassured me that it was the correct amount. The medication was supposed to be for ten days and I ran out after five. I tried calling back but kept reaching their AI. It's so frustrating and annoying that each time I try to call them I have to jump through hoops. Francis texted me regarding the cats medicine but she never bothered reading the text or responding!!! It took me 5 tries to get through to someone!!! They told me they phoned the prescription into Walgreens but when I called Walgreens they had no idea what I was talking about. I had to begin the process all over again and call Bond Vet back because someone dropped the ball!!! Unprofessionalism at its finest! Incompetence galore!!! Phone tag!!! Wasting my time and energy running around trying to pick up my cat's medicine. I was inconvenienced not them! Everything is a monumental task!!! Unreachable!!! Terrible communication skills!!! You couldn't teach them if your fur babies lives depended on it!!! They are unreachable!!! Be prepared to talk to AI. They offer a text number but when I text them they don't answer!!! Why have a text line if you're not going to answer??? Now there's a concept!! After informing Sara the clinic manager that I no longer will be utilizing their services thru emailed me and told me to find a new vet! They tried flipping the script when I got rid of them! Unreal! What a bunch of clowns!!! Who in their right mind would tolerate such incompetency and laziness? You have to ask yourself if you would entrust the well being of your most treasured fur babies to the incompetency and of Bond Vet. The apathy is alarming! Unfortunately I cannot in good conscience recommend this vet service. That's a hard no from me again. Run like your the last two monkeys boarding Noah's Ark and it's starting to rain!!! From the moment we first visited with our dog, Ella, we always felt that we were in good hands. The veterinarians, technicians, and staff are kind, attentive, and always made sure our dog received excellent care. Dr. Esser, Dr. Campos, and Dr. Mombello provided detailed explanations and an exceptional course of treatment after Ella was diagnosed with cancer. The last year of Ella's life was tough, but this team found ways to help Ella bounce back after each visit, and we were lucky to have extra time with our dog. The team at West Loop Veterinarians really came through for us in the last few days leading up to the moment we had to say goodbye to Ella. When Ella started to decline, Dr. Esser was kind enough to talk to us on the phone and help us with the decision-making process for end-of-life care. We appreciated her honesty and her clarity in things to think about when making these tough decisions. When it came time to say goodbye to Ella, Dr. Mombello showed a level of empathy, understanding, and gentleness that meant the world to us. Kristen and Janet were so helpful in explaining the process and providing support. They walked us through every step with patience and respect, giving us the space to grieve while also making sure our dog passed peacefully and without pain. It was one of the hardest days of our lives, but the support and kindness we received made it just a little more bearable. We're forever grateful for the love and care West Loop Veterinarians gave to our beloved companion throughout her life--and especially at the end. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet who truly cares about dogs and their family members.
