I love raw vegan restaurants for their creativity in creating dishes that requires little to no cooking, which is more challenging than one thinks. The small shop is a womxn owned business and is a cozy, grab and go environment. There were a few seats by the window but I anticipate most people will swing by for something and be on their way. For breakfast, I ordered their Acai Bowl ($15) with fresh fruit, protein powder, and granola. It was a decent sized portion and everything was blended nicely, although their granola felt a bit hard. But you really can't go wrong with acai and other freshness in the morning. They sell a variety of takeout meals including wraps, sushi, lasagna, etc., and yes, all of it is raw so you're really benefiting from all the natural vitamins and minerals in whole foods. It's definitely on the steeper end but I appreciate that it's available to the masses.

Raw is a healthy food haven for somebody looking for healthy snacks and alternatives. A local spot in Chicago we got to meet the owner and her dog. They were super nice and gave us the rundown on the menu. Offering smoothies, shots, meals, bowls, espresso, and teas. It has something for just about everybody here. I picked up one of their smoothies the maca picchu. Bananas, blueberries, almond butter, and the maca picchu blend. This was a great refresher after the workout I had just done. A great spot to check out while you are in Chicago offering healthy drinks, snacks, and food.

This little place it's nearby my house . If you looking for a cozy spot with healthy options then is the right one. From a variety of smoothies , food , sweets , açaí,cakes ( my fav one it's" slice of heaven" ) and many more .All the stuff it's very lovely and good adviser to help with you find the perfect option. Love that they have some tables outside where you can enjoy in a nice day or with your pet buddy . Totally recommend this place.

Demolished this sushi down by the lake!! It was REALLY good, but I needed more to be full.

Stayed right by here on a recent trip to Chicago, so I went a few times during my stay. I am vegan but I recently also went mostly grain-free & gluten-free, so I thought raw vegan food would be a good fit for my new diet. I was correct in that regard! Yes, prices are always a bit high for raw food no matter where you go, what city you are in, etc because you are not paying for all the fillers but just high-quality ingredients. I had the sushi rolls for lunch, but after a 7 mile bike ride up the lake to the beach where I planned to eat my lunch, I was still hungry so I ate my backup kind bar! You probably need more than one thing to be full. I also had a smoothie while I was there, and that was great. Overall, if you are into raw food and want the opposite of Chicago Diner style vegan food, then you know what you are getting into as far as high quality but a bit pricey foods! They also sell interesting bagged snacks and bars in case you want to make a little picnic etc!

Support local! This little gem near Navy Pier is worth visiting. The açaí is amazing! And the shop is welcoming. Not just a heal-food spot the are a coffee shop also, the selection of coffee is legit! Try the oat milk flat white!

Moldy food

Paid forty dollars for moldy food (photos attached). No quality control in an overpriced place that prides themselves in being "clean" eating. Simple ingredients with a side of mold.

Açaí Bowl

Another place to get açaí bowls. Chicago Raw so far is my favorite place to get these. It has plenty of other stuff as well. Good stuff to eat and the only bad thing is the price. There's a lot more I want to try but don't want to pay that much for stuff. I was around here and picked up a good meal at breakfast. Picking something was pretty hard. The entire menu looks good so you have to just pick one thing. Also it's pretty expensive. Limiting yourself here is hard and you can't get that much when you aren't loaded. I had an Açaí Bowl. It's $12.95 for a small looking but in reality actually dense bowl with a lot in it. There's a lot packed in there. Base is acai, blueberries, kale, and plant protein. Toppings are bananas, granola, and strawberries. Breakfast is a good time for a bowl. If coming later there's stuff like salads and sandwiches. Things are expensive so you just have to order one thing.

Wow, this place completely blows me away. The creativity and ingenuity that it takes to create a raw vegan menu is underestimated by many. Raw vegan restaurants are so few in number because it is so laborious to create each and every single product and this place does an amazing job at representing how far raw food can go. I wish I lived in Chicago so that I could grab food from here every week lol. When you enter the store, you are greeted by little samples and I think it's a great way to get exposure to try different menu items. The service is super friendly and the people are really helpful at trying to talk to you about what items to order and the ambience is kind of like a grab and go deli style situation. I wanted to try a little bit of everything so I got the signature sampler platter, empanadas, and the pizza. As if this wasn't enough (it wasn't), I went back on a separate occasion, and also ordered the nori rolls and the collared burrito. I was so curious about everything and I definitely wanted to try more than what I got. Everything was a pretty interesting twist, and what I love about raw vegan food is that I usually feel very full but also not lethargic. My personal favorite that I got was probably the raw ravioli with the cashew cheese inside the turnip skin. Everything is super exciting and it feels super healthy and I would definitely encourage everyone to give it a try! I wish the owner would release a cookbook so for those of us who do not live in Chicago can try and re-create some of the magic in our own kitchens.

Fresh organic celery juice made daily

Stumbled across this store, and wow! I got my organic celery juice, organic plant based burrito was amazing and service was great.

Smoothie and tiramisu
Marcos S.

Had the all in one smoothie plus green vitamin eral and avocado. Yumm. And the mini tiramisu. Both rocked. Only thing was with my additions it was insanely pricey ($25) which seems a bit high. But did love it. The crimson love juice on the second trip in. Yummm. Again, crazy pricey but really good!

Chicago Roll... my absolute favorite

Honestly, I've had so many amazing food items at Chicago Raw, I should have written this review a long time ago. This is such a clutch place to pick up easy, healthy, and not to mention DELICIOUS meals and desserts. I am not even vegan and I eat here at least once a week. I'm trying to stay away from refined sugars, and I can always find something to satisfy my major sweet tooth here. And the selection of raw desserts has grown immensely (and for that I thank you). My favorite desserts include the Chocolate Mousse / parfait (a creamy chocolate avocado mousse/pudding, with a little hint of spice to it with the crunchiness of cacao nibs), the Polly's Brownie (sweetened with dates/agave), the Chocolate Orange Truffles, the Apple Pie, Lemon Square, Kitchen Sink Cookie, Mint Square, and the Carrot Muffins. I think that's it.... ;). All of these are so so SO good, my only wish is that these had nutritional info included on them (even if just the caloric count). For the savory dishes, my favorite by FAR are the Chicago Rolls. This is a vegan twist on a sushi roll, made with cashew cheese, avocado, carrot, and rolled in nori. The seasoned pumpkin seeds this comes with is also 10/10. I've also had the Kale salad, Spinach Lasagna, Riding the Wave, and Raw Raviolis. Everything is so fresh and so good. Overall, vegan or not vegan, you should 100% check out Chicago Raw. Coming from a meat loving, non-vegan herself, I will never stop eating this stuff.

Cinnamon rolls (made with dates) DELICIOUS!

My husband and I recently visited Chicago & I was pleasantly surprised to find Chicago Raw for my plant based needs. This place is a true gem & the wide variety of raw vegan options is AMAZING! So many that I had a hard time selecting. However, the customer service is great & the young lady helping me was full of great suggestions. On the first visit I opted for the Chicago Raw Rolls which are ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I ate them so fast I forgot to take a picture-lol! For my sweet treat I tried the Apple Cinnamon Parfait which was just okay but I'm glad I tried it. And I also tried the Mousse Au Chocolat which is a chocolate lovers dream! However, it does have cayenne which i could taste a little bit (so if you don't like spice you might bypass this one). For a hot beverage I tried some organic peppermint tea which was also DELICIOUS! FYI...if you are avoiding oil some of their items contain coconut oil so just be sure to read labels. On day two I tried the Empanada. My only regret is that I only got one! Once again, I was not disappointed as this too was DELICIOUS! This corn & flaxseed shell filled with almond, walnut, sunflower seed, sundried tomato& spices is very flavorful & the salsa & vegan sour cream set it off! Lastly, I tried a Cinnamon Crunch smoothie which I would definitely get again! I only wish I'd gotten a bigger size because it was that good! And really last but not least, I tried the cinnamon rolls which are truly out of this world! They are made with dehydrated bananas, dates, cinnamon. You have to try these! Overall, I do recommend trying this place if you are vegan and/or vegan plant based or even if you're not the food is really good! I plan to be back.

The infamous vegan tiramisu divinity!

Refreshing, clean, and actually satisfying. Service is just okay. It usually takes a while to get drinks since it seems like one person is handling everything, and today wasn't any different. Not terrible, just something to expect if you're in a rush. They do offer a decent selection of quick food options, and there are tables if you want to stay. Also nice that it's not limited to Equinox Gold Coast members--you can stop by even if you're just in the area. One detail I liked: the bamboo-style straw. Super sturdy--didn't bend or break even when I bit down on it, unlike the usual flimsy ones. Small touch, but it stood out.

It doesn't taste like blueberry or coconut, tastes like a subtle cashew butter. I couldn't figure out what it was, it's kind of sweet but leans more savory--it clicked that it has a similar profile to nut butters. The granola is so delicious and it's added at the bottom and top. What's the granola bc want to buy this!! The coconut whipped cream was also really good; it melted with the base and made it sweet. The bad stuff: I wish the consistency was thicker. It was smoothie in a bowl, super watery and you have to eat it like soup towards the end. Strawberry Acai Bowl (4/5): This tastes nothing like strawberry, but it's the best banana berry flavor I've ever had. Banana so easily over powders other flavors which I why I avoid it, but this was very subtle and has more berry flavors, without it being tart. I did get sick of it once I finished, but I'm just not into this flavor in general. Again, the consistency is too watery! I had to slurp this up. I also like how protein powder is automatic with the bowl, you can choose whey or vegan protein powder. With the strawberry açaí, you can go sweetened or unsweetened. Serving size is really big, but total was a little over $15, with tip. Honestly worth it.

After much deliberation (SO many choices!) I settled on the Sunset Bowl: soft serve acai topped with pineapple, mango, raspberries, granola, and honey. The concept of soft serve acai is novel and genius - the texture allows for the creation of the perfect bite with just the right amount of fruit, acai, and granola crunch. The inside is adorable, clearly designed to be showcased on customers' social media posts. My only constructive feedback is the pricing - a regular bowl is $12, which certainly isn't the priciest acai bowl in the land, but I would love to pay less and visit more often, rather than saving my pennies and patronage for special occasions.

I'm sorry to have to say this was one of the worst restaurants I've been to in a long time. My drink wasn't made properly (the menu said it had a sweet creamy whipped topping but what I got was some unsweetened coffee foam). But thankfully when I asked for something else they were gracious and did so. The sandwiches were so bad I literally spit out my first bite of my turkey sausage egg and cheese sandwich and threw the rest away. The menu showed turkey sausage patty in the sandwich but mine had a few sliced up pieces of breakfast sausage links, the english muffin was very greasy, and the egg and spinach were covered in grease. My partner ordered the turkey croissant sandwich and the turkey was dried out/crunchy in some parts and parts of the croissant were burnt. The potatoes were very bland and some of them tasted sour. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and it was out of soap (it was before noon by the way), the hand dryer was broken (there was literally a part of it hanging out the bottom and the part was very dirty/old looking, there were splatters in the toilet, and there were food bits all in the sink as if someone had eaten then rinsed out their mouth in the sink. I'm so annoyed that I spend almost $50 for myself and my partner and we basically had to throw everything out. If I could've asked for a full refund of my entire order I would have.
