My son and I tried Chicago Ramen-Park Ridge for an early dinner on a weekday. There were a couple of tables occupied with customers when we got here. Our server was friendly and helpful. The pictures on the menu were helpful in knowing what to expect with each bowl of ramen order. We tried: TEMPURA APPETIZER, SPICY SHRIMP WONTON W/EGG, and SPICY RED MISO RAMEN W/EGG. I also ordered SPICY CHICKEN RAMEN W/EGG and (level 3 spicy) BEEF CURRY RAMEN to go. The broth for each ramen was flavorful, rich, and delicious. Please note that the menus are different at the different Chicago Ramens! I came here because I specifically wanted to try the curry ramen. This was like a cross between gyuudon and ramen and was exactly what I wanted. The curry/onion was perfect with the thinly sliced beef and the deliciously chewy noodles. The space is small and no-frills but does everything it is supposed to, the prices are good for an ENORMOUS bowl of ramen, and I will be back! (There is also parking, which is nice.) read more

My family raved about the ramen here and when I was in town I just had to try it. We learned that there were multiple locations and decided to visit one that they hadn't frequented before - the Park Ridge location on Busse Highway. - This is a difficult location to find, and we almost missed it due to its proximity to the car wash next door. For a split second we almost didn't turn into the parking lot because we thought we were entering the car wash, but nope, we were at the right place! - We arrived for lunch at 11:20am, 20 minutes after their advertised opening time. To our confusion, the doors were locked with no one in sight (and we were the only ones in the parking lot!) With the thought that this location was no longer we were about to leave, but found a worker inside and were able to flag him down to open the doors. I do understand there's many different types of Japanese noodle dishes and ramens, but if I am ordering a tonkotsu ramen soup, I am expecting exactly that -- soup. Listed on the menu are tsukemen (a dipping noodle with a notably thicker broth that adheres to the noodle when you dip) and miso-tonkotsu soups. I opted for a miso based soup, while the person I dined with got the tsukemen. To my surprise, the broth for both dishes were the same, meaning the broth that was present in my ramen was thick, gelatinous, and not soup at all. This fully may just be my ignorance in not doing enough research, but the food was not what I was expecting at all. With the soup being thick, it was too rich for me to consume and lead to me not eating most of my meal. This was such a shame as the flavors were great, it just was the richness and texture that got to me and made me sick while consuming. The tsukemen was great and exactly as expected though, so if you're looking for a rich noodle dish where you can properly monitor how much rich broth you're consuming, this is the place for you. read more

Food is delicious and the service is exceptional. It is kind of hidden and one of the smaller location of Chicago Ramen but the food is still very tasty. I had the dipping noddles and it was very good. The takoyaki was also very good I would definitely get that again. I would skip the chicken karaage next time. read more

I will start out with that the ramen and food is very good. The fried chicken, curry beef ramen and chicken ramen were excellent. It's not the food that got the lower grade, but the location and other things. The PR location has a much smaller and simpler menu than their other locations. The server was nice and cordial. The outside of the place was covered in weeds, the planters had over grown weeds and their windows can't be cleaned due to the wood they used to cover them. The inside is not clean in any way, shape or form. This is the third time I have been at this location since their opening. Plates and bowls that were given to our kids had grease/oil and food stuck on them. When we noticed and said something, they were replaced with cleaner, but were not oil/grease free. The mop scum/grease/oil accumulation on the floors and corners is pretty disgusting and even the threshold of the door is covered in grease/oil/dirt. Plus, it looked like it hasn't been swept in a while. I know it might seem petty to some, but at least make an effort. I realize this can be more of a carry out kinda place, but if the little dining room is not clean, one can only imagine what the kitchen, prep and cooler areas look like. read more

Its onky been my second time trying this franchise and 1st in tgi location. Place is a bit small which is really cute and cozy. The service was good but a bit on the slower side. I loved the red miso broth but i still like egg noodles on my ramen. I will however come back just for the broth alone. Very savory and well seasoned. Char Siu was so tender it ws really good. The service was friendly and fast. The place was small but clean. Food was just okay .my daughter and daughter-in-law liked their red miso and white miso ramen. My tsukemen was not bad although the noodles were still cold and could have used a little reheating in boiling water. The broth was thick and flavorful. The staff was great and they checked to make sure the ingredients in my grandson's rice did not have any sesame because he's allergic to it. He ended up just eating plain white rice because the chashu pork bowl has sesame in it. Not the best but if you are craving for ramen, live in the area and don't want to drive a long way, this is an option you could consider. read more

The food was tasty and the service was fast. This is one of the smaller locations that I have been to. But it was still cozy. I won a free ramen bowl giveaway from their instagram page. The entire restaurant is painted in gold, which adds a cool esthetic to the place. The food is always amazing at Chicago ramen. The gyoza is my favorite. The noodles were tasty and my savory. My son loved his kids ramen as well. We added chicken to add a protein. I taught my son how to eat edamame. Definitely a cool trip to Chicago ramen. read more

This brand new Chicago Ramen location just opened on March 18.  It occupies the space formerly occupied by the locally popular Frosty Penguin ice cream and burger shop and later by a short-lived taco shop.  I honestly haven't eaten at this location yet but I have at Chicago Ramen's popular and busy flagship location in Des Plaines.  I passed by and stopped to peak in and there is a surprisingly relatively large dining space now present.  Their prices look a little elevated but they also have quality offerings.  Chicago Ramen has recently opened several new locations all over the northwest suburbs and are growing rapidly.  I'll go with 4 stars for now for this particular location mainly as I like that they have salvaged a Park Ridge place of business. read more

Food was very meh. My bf has been to the Des Plaines location and really liked it, but this location isn't up to par. I really wanted to like it - I love ramen, but I got the vegetable ramen and the more I ate it, the less I liked it. I even got it with an egg, and I usually love eggs in ramen but I didn't even finish it. I was not a fan. My bf got the spicy red miso and wasn't a fan of it either. Service was solid though. This place is a joke. Its an old ice cream shop converted into a restaurant poorly. Its cold inside, dank, 3-4 tables, a small counter service. Service there was lack luster although there was plenty of staff, sanitation is questionable (I was expecting to get sick) after receiving the red miso ramen w/egg. They charge $1 dollar extra for cost of rising egg prices which is not the current state, bill automatically adds a suggested amount of tipping w/no option for custom tip. Save yourself the money, poor ambiance, time and poor dining experience and avoid this place. Too bad shinchan ramen in glenview closed...misoya in des plaines is much better. Chicago Ramen is a small yet efficient restaurant. The size of the restaurant is small, yet the owners make sure to use every corner of it for seating. For this restaurant, I'd think the service would be better. There's about 3-4 employees taking care of the customers, however, it's not very effective even if there's not many people dining in. For my personal taste, I'd say the food might need a bit more of flavor. The ramen is hot, which is perfect compared to other places. They are pretty quick with getting your meal, but unfortunately the last thing you'll get is the appetizers which is quite upsetting. I went on a Monday around 4 pm, place is not busy at all. I ordered the spicy red miso ramen with egg and shrimp tempura for appetizer. The shrimp tempura was crunchy and perfectly cooked. The ramen had a very rich broth with char siu pork and bamboo shoot, so flavorful . The portion is pretty big. Condiments tableside like fresh garlic, seaweed flakes, and chili powder. There was a worm in my ramen! When my order arrived I took a photo of the food and sent it to a friend, and he noticed there was a worm among the vegetables. Unfortunately by the time he responded, I had eaten the worm already. I showed the manager and she took my phone to show the chef. They did nothing about it and even denied what was clearly a worm. They did not apologize, they did not comp my meal. I've left this review before, but someone created a new profile for this business to hide my honest review and several other people's sub-par reviews. Look for the second profile for this business to hear what people experienced. Apart from the worm, the food came out promptly, and it was pretty good. We ordered the calamari appetizer, white miso ramen, and curry ramen. The calamari was overwhelmingly salty--so much so that it seemed as if an entire salt shaker had spilled into the batter. It was impossible to eat that, so we had to request a refund. The white miso ramen was served in a bowl with a narrow bottom, which left it with almost no broth. The curry ramen was flavorful, though it tasted more like a stir-fried curry dish than ramen. Perhaps it was my mistake to expect a traditional ramen experience from a curry-based dish. The restaurant itself is very small, with only three tables, and didn't feel particularly clean or tidy. I noticed a server sneezing into her palm, which was off-putting, and the black pepper bottle on the table was sticky. I hope they could review these reviews and make improvements! read more

Location cannot handle demand. Tried to call...no answer..so I walked in as it is close-by. Every table and counter had dirty dishes because they had no time to clean. Lady behind counter looked understandably crazed trying to do online orders and serve who was left in dining room. I asked if I can place an order and she said I had to wait. She never got back to me and I was just standing there 15 mins. She was more polite to another group of customers who wanted to dine there. If they can't keep up, they should take down online ordering until they get someone to serve dining room. I just left with no apology. I'm loving the new Chicago Ramen location, especially since it's close to home and a short bike ride away. It's off the beaten path, but the nice small place is a so cozy and a great spot for, lunch with your girls or date night with the better half. The service was great and staff were very nice and personable. They made us feel like we were eating at a family members home. We enjoyed the red miso and the white miso. The red miso is very rich and the spicy white miso is lighter if you're ready to wake up those taste buds. Definitely will be coming here often. read more

It was very dirty when we came in, meaning that none of the food from the people before us had been cleaned up. Also, there was barely any seating, and so many people came in and stood inside and then decided not to eat here and leave. We were the only ones inside at first, but then one guy came in about 10 minutes after us and he was served first. The food took a while even though it was just about 7 people in there, and we didnt get our drinks until about halfway through the meal. The food still came out hot and fresh and tasted great, it's just the service that's the problem. They also had no cups for water for us, and they didnt care to dry the cups before they gave them to us. Other locations of this restaurant are great, but this one we will not be coming to again. Bad service. They issued a refund when they had 30 minutes to close and refused to cook me anything when I got there. They are rude.

2 nights in a row they late cancelled our Grubhub order stating that they were closed when in fact they were still open. Order was placed long before they closed and was supposed to be ready way before they closed. Had I walked in to eat I would be eating right now. This location is the worst. Don't waste your time here go to the others. The Des Plains and Wheeling locations are excellent with top notch service. This one is terrible! I'm not sure why the service at this location is so horrible. This location has permanently lost my business. I will drive to the further locations. read more

Writing a review because this place always gets part of our order wrong. This last time we ordered 2 beef rice bowls, shrimp tempura rice bowl, and gyozas. We got 2 beef curry soups and 3 shrimp tempuras. The gyozas were the only thing that was correct. Again when we get what we ordered it is good, but it never is ever completely correct. Several things wrong with this place. I'm never eating here and I advise you don't either. 1. Bathroom smelled like urine and had a sticky floor. 2. The waiter took our order wrong and then proceeded to blame it on the new person he was training (in Spanish to the rest of the staff). 3. When I asked for spicy paste he was very condescending in reminding that there's spice powder in front of me. Which was outrageous because I specifically asked for my ramen to be spicy. He then took my bowl and told the cooks in Spanish that I kept changing the order on him again. 4. The tables were not clean. Our table had oil spilled on it that I had to clean. 5. They cannot keep track of orders. When I got there a family was requesting extra plates for their fried rice. The waiter told the family in a condescending tone to hold on, their order of rice was still being cooked. The family was so confused because their order of fried rice was already on their table. 6. When we requested an appetizer be removed from our check because we never received it the waiter looked confused and asked "so you want me to remove it?" Tell me, why would I pay for something that never got sent to my table? Overall, this place is dirty, the waiter there was rude and incompetent, the staff talks bad about customers in Spanish and the food was super greasy.
