I've used VK for a few plumbing issues in my home and the work has always been done well and at a…read morefair price. However, when I had trouble with a toilet in my rental unit - where there is only one bathroom - resolving the problem was a more pressing issue. First, it was just a small leak. The plumber looked at it and though it could be fixed with the replacement of some internal parts. However, while searching for the parts, three things happened: (1) the leak became more pronounced, (2) the water shut-off valve froze and (3) we found out that the toilet was an unusual model made by Toto 20 years ago and the replacement parts weren't immediately available. I decided my tenant needed a toilet that worked and I needed to avoid a flood in this upper unit as the leak, if not contained, would have caused damage below it. I needed a new toilet, but it had to be a one-piece that would fit under an existing tiled counter. We found one and I thought we could do it the next day, but VK showed up late in the afternoon with the new unit and spent the next few hours, until nearly 10 pm, getting the old one out (no easy feat) and getting the new one in and working. Oh, and to make things worse, the water shut off valve broke and it had to be replaced before they could put the new toilet in, which necessitated turning the water off to the whole unit. This was a headache and inconvenience for everyone, but it all got done and all working that evening. I really appreciated the late-night service and how they cleaned everything up very nicely before leaving. My tenant was happy which means I'm happy too. At the end of the day, the price for the new toilet, new water shut-off valve and all labor/installation was a very fair price.

Jim Borghese is one of the most reliable owners of a business I have dealt with and the most…read morehonest. For years I have counted on him because of his fast service, and I think most reasonable pricing. He handles small fixes and has handled big projects for our townhouse building. He responds fast and has techs out right away. He is the best. But better news. I just discovered he also has an HVAC service which I will describe as the Rolls Royce of HVAC service. They run tests which I have never experienced with any HVAC companies before. Most go to look at my unit and say everything's fine which just happened twice this last month. But I didn't have heat and they said we will come back after the Holidays. I then called Jim and discovered he had an HVAC service. Jim sent Jeremy out almost immediately. Jim's guys Jeremy and Jimmy ran tests and showed me pictures and everything wasn't fine. It was awful. Jeremy installed new parts which I could see I definitely needed and Jimmy the master tech did one last little tweak he said and for the first time in weeks I have heat. I am grateful.

My landlord called this company to work on my sink. The guy from this company walked on my carpet…read morein his boots covered in muck and left foot prints across my carpet. He used ALL my dishtowels to clean up his mess, (he had no rages of his own) and he smeared muck along my couch (as he walked past it, I'm guessing??). It was so weird that a professional would do that!! When I called to ask about it, why he didn't have his own cleaning rags or take his boots off or something?? And I wasn't yelling or rude,. I was just straightforward. He immediately flipped out over the phone, yelling at me,. "What do you expect me to do?!?! It was a mess!! I had to-" I didn't listen a second longer, I just hung up and knew I'd never let that company in my home again. When my landlord forgets and tries to use them again I just remind them and keep insisting they either let me call someone I like or they call someone else. I had posted this review a while back but it was taken down. Not sure why but here it is again. People need to know about this guy.

After having a nightmare scenario with another plumber, I called Sal and I'm so glad I did! It turned out, all I needed was a clean out installed, a camera inspection, and a drain cleaning. Sal ran a camera in the new clean out his worker installed and found that there were no major issues with my water line, the way the previous plumber had described. The other plumber wanted to charge me $14,000 and was very aggressive, insisting that I needed to repair the water line right away. Sal only charged me $750 for his work. I tested my plumbing after Sal left, and it's working great! No more water back ups! I'm so happy that I found S. O. Plumbing. I will be calling them for all my plumbing needs from now on. They are the most honest plumbers I have ever hired.
