The first time he came out he made the job happen, I couldn't be happier. He relocated my toilet drain and installed a shower. The trouble came when I wanted to install the rest of the bathroom, ie toilet, vanity, shower trim, etc. He scheduled with me three times and flaked three times. The second time (I know, but he came highly recommended) he did a tub install, again with great work. The parts weren't all in stock so he told me he'd come out again to wrap up the install. Well, I got the parts, we scheduled for a Friday and he agreed. Day-of I get no word all morning and tried to confirm at 11:45, naturally he didn't respond and didn't show up at all. The second one here bugs me because I paid him in full for the job, which in hindsight was foolish of me. To add insult to injury, they put a hole in my bathroom door during the tub install, so I guess I'm going to be out of pocket for that too.

At first everything was great, he fixed our main shower taps, installed a washer and dryer and then we were experiencing a leak from our upstairs neighbor. He went and investigated the situation and even cut the dry wall and fixed the pipe a month ago and provided a plumbers report for insurance and HOA purposes. Turns out he never fixed it, he rescheduled multiple time to come address the issue and then never came and now we've had to have our entire kitchen gutted because of the leak and its still not fixed. He was paid $1200 for this.... and he didnt do ANYTHING.. He also recently helped us change the taps in our smaller bathroom 3 weeks ago and left us with it leaking. He wanted to charge me an extra $75 to go 4 miles down the street and grab a nut that is less than $10. We've scheduled him 3 times to come and fix the job that we paid him for and he's cancelled multiple times and now he wont even answer our messages. He is extremely unorganized and flakey. He will schedule with you and then message you the morning of and say he is stuck on another project that he is obviously getting paid more for but wont finish the ones he is already working on. He has said his car has broken down twice... and now its obvious he just doesnt care. Dont recommend him at all. If you are looking for a reliable plumber this aint your guy at all. Crescenta Valley water replaced the water mains a few years ago throughout my neighborhood, and…read morethey said that they had great difficulty hooking up my existing galvanized water main pipe that went up to my house back to the new water main. They said it was extremely corroded and needed to be replaced. I am doing a bunch of renovations to my house right now, and decided it was time to replace the old pipe. I called around and got a few quotes that were pretty ridiculous, and one company wanted me to pay for them to come out and give me a quote, even though they are literally 1.9 miles away from my house! I finally called my plumber who has worked with my family for decades, but doesn't do this type of work. He recommended John. I called him up, and he came right over and gave me a very reasonable quote. I booked him the following week. His crew came out at 8:30am. He had told me that the water would be off for 4 to 6 hours, and that they would be done before 5pm. They turned off the water at around 10:30, and were done with the job by 1:30. I am beyond happy with their work! I have a xeriscape front yard with lots of big, sharp cactus. His crew worked around all my plants, and didn't leave a mark on any of them. My neighbor commented to me after the install was done that he couldn't tell that any work had been done. Always a good sign.

I arrived home to John walking my brother through a million reasons why a new water pipeline had to be installed after discovering a leak. After quietly observing the derogatory lectures he ranted on about, I listened as he quoted some crazy price and left. He called a short while later asking what we wanted to do, and my brother said that we were leaning towards capping it, even if it was a temporary fix as we needed the water back on. John told him he'd cap it today free of charge, but he needs $2300 cash upfront tomorrow for the major fix. As it seemed a ridiculous (cash) amount, we sought a second opinion. Another plumber called after reviewing the videos of the leak and although he couldn't make it, he was happy to provide a solution so that some other plumber (I.e. John) could-- take notes John, THAT'S good service. When my brother proposed the idea to John over the phone he responded "I thoroughly explained to you why we could or couldn't do that", again in a derogatory voice. You don't want to take the time to explain it again to someone who isn't a plumber? Okay fine, I guess I get it. At this point I told my brother that my fiancé was arriving in a couple hours, and he's capped pipes before, it shouldn't be a big deal if you want to wait for the other plumber to be available. I didn't want my brother to have to keep putting up with this rude individual. Again, over the phone--my brother says, "okay, my sister's fiancé's coming home soon and--" and before he could continue, John cuts him off and says "oh what? he's a handyman? then let him take care of it" and HANGS UP. but wait, there's more... my brother had just texted John before the phone call, proposing the solution that the other plumber had suggested. John obviously reads this late because he has the audacity to call back and when my brother picks up and politely addresses him, John aggressively says "so what do you want to do? I'll put a shorter nipple (the other plumber's suggestion) for $500" Confused, my brother said "what do you mean? You just hung up on me" and John ACKNOWLEDGES the fact that he hung up on him and says "I thought we were done" I was so angry I yelled at my brother to hang up. Yes, we're done John. You don't get our business and as long as I can help it, you won't be getting the business of anyone we know. I suppose I should consider myself fortunate that this was my first residential plumbing emergency. My home is less than 10 years old, and this type of thing was new for me...so I didn't know who to call (especially on a Sunday evening). Everyone was scheduled to arrive on December 24th, and the night of the 23rd my hot water heater stopped working. It was 8pm and I needed to get the problem fixed immediately. Craigslist has often been my go-to source for finding contractors, so I hopped on and saw an ad for MFS Plumbing. I made the call and was instantly impressed with Mark's friendly demeanor, Scottish accent, and enthusiasm for getting my problem solved. He arrived at my home within 25 minutes and quickly diagnosed the issue. Mark gave me 3 options, clearly and concisely explaining not only what the issue was but how we could fix it. He gave me a Fixed Price to Repair, Repair & Replace, and a New Installation. This December I had an aneurysm and then 4 days later pen heart surgery, now back home recovering to discover oh here's an issue for Tom, the shower faucets are original to the 1947 home and have finally given up the ghost. Tom was good enough to come over to affix a temporary faucet so I could use the shower unit as he ordered proper ones. There was no charge for his visit to come over and do that temporary fix, that's the kind guy he is, a good one who won't take advantage of you. A couple weeks later he came over with the new faucet unit, installed it which was not an easy job considering the 1947 degraded tile he had to chip away at... It wasn't long before he had installed the new unit and it's been working like a charm since. His bill was fair and reasonable as is all his jobs that he's done here at my home. How about this, I'm away working on location on a movie out of state, the 1947 sprinkler pipes burst out front and who comes to save the day, Tom! Over the phone via text he sent me pics of the damage and his repairs, and the bill was again fair and reasonable. My 1947 sink gave up the ghost year before last, Tom came over and was able to save the old vintage unit (it looks too cool to replace it) and it's been working beautifully since, and here it comes... the bill was fair and reasonable.
