On September 30th 2025 I called in an order for pickup. My order was for the 3 skewer kabob chicken or pork special for $16.99. I stop in to pick up my order and the woman at the register asks me what type of soda I would like with my order because it comes with a soda and french fries. I corrected her and told her that I only wanted the three skewer special that was only kebobs and not the other special that also comes with fries and a soda. Okay, so she did not give me the soda and proceeded to charge me $22 something and something did not feel right about the transaction. Upon arriving at home and finding an order of fries in my bag, I checked the menu and saw that the order should have been $16.99 plus tax. So I proceeded to call to let them know that they made a mistake. They answered the phone and placed me on hold for a few minutes. The woman who took my money explained to me that the internet prices were wrong because prices had gone up and that what was posted on the internet is not her responsibility. In other words she charged me the correct price. Funny thing is what she charged me was exactly what the charge for the more expensive order should have been?!? So instead of correcting her self and charging me the correct price she went ahead and proceeded to charge me the more expensive price. Yes, she lied to me. Is this good customer service? Am I supposed to say good things about this place to people I know? Am I supposed to write a good review? I understand that the customer is not always right. But when they are give them what they paid for. I have not been back to this place since and I do not recommend anyone have an interaction Iike I experienced with this woman. Decided to stop by Chicago Pita last night for a Greek Salad with Chicken. Walked in and was not greeted. When I arrived home, to my surprise all the lettuce had brown spots all over. I was surprised and disappointed. Clearly, the cook saw the poor quality of the lettuce and still decided to serve it. It has been a while since my last purchase due to working from home. When you roll into Hegewisch... there isn't a whole lot of restaurants or fast food joints when you want a quick bite for lunch!! This joint is def a hidden gem. The food is amazing and everything is cooked to order so be prepared to wait or call in your order. The steak pita is so flavorful you'll be blown away! We stopped in on our way from Hammond to Chicago. I wasn't really feeling it, but my boyfriend insisted we stop. And as much as I hate to admit it, he was right. We got chicken and pork with the Drago season. It comes with some bread wrapped in the foil with the kabob and holy cow that was one of the best meals I have ever had in my mouth. Willy Wonka should have put these flavors in his 3 course dinner chewing gum. I need to go back asap. The only complaint I have is the people behind the counter were definitely not wearing their mask properly (nose out and mouth in some cases). Chicago Pita Kitchen makes some good food on the grill which usually ends up on a pita. Given that pitas are carbs and carbs are not the best thing for your health, I usually settle for kabobs. CPK is home to the original Drago-bob (pork) but also offers chicken or beef. I recommend two original Dragos and a side of rice. The Dragos are served on skewers and wrapped in garlic bread with a side of lemon. Delicious. The rice is very good. Who knows how they flavor it but it's good. Perhaps rice isn't that healthy either but it's better than fries for a side dish. Burgers and dogs are also on the menu but if you're going to a Greek place get Greek food. CPK also serves the "famous" Gaety's ice cream. On the downside, the staff is hit or miss. Sometimes the counter help is polite. Other times the counter help tend to be ignorant. If they tell you 15 mins you should prepare to wait 25 mins. They are very slow. read more

We use this restaurant frequently for our companies' functions. Plus individual orders within the company. Well an order was placed last week for a few employees and when the food arrived there was 2 dishes that was ordered and paid for by the company that wasn't received, when the delivery was made. When the call was made to let them know they sent back the driver to confront the person that ordered the food. The manager of the establishment came back as well and made it seem as if the companies employees lied about not receiving their food. It was strange for a manager to come and make that claim at a well established company. Well they promised to replace the meals that we never received but basically when we called the next day as we was asked to do they basically told us we couldn't have it delivered but we can come get it. Didn't give a reason for that decision. They are rude and so unprofessional as a restaurant and really a lot of companies within the area they service but with us we was told we aren't deserving of delivery and with that said to us you don't trust that we are a very reputable company and would not put ourselves in a bad light with anyone. No one would eat the food and make a phone call after eating the meal and say we never received what we ordered. It makes no sense because the company paid for our meals, why lie about it. I came across Chicago Pita by total accident while driving downtown one day. It's tucked away in Hegewisch, right by the South Shore train station. I'm so glad I found it, though.
