Of course, I couldn't decide on just one dish, so I had to order a little bit of everything. Why not? The saganaki was absolutely delicious and is definitely a must-try. The avgolemono was decent and comforting, though it wasn't quite as memorable for me. The pastitsio was a bit of a mix. The flavor was delicious and packed with that classic Greek comfort-food goodness, but unfortunately, the béchamel was overcooked and had become too firm. Overall, between the friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and flavorful food, I had a very good experience at Greek Islands. There are still plenty of classic dishes I'd like to try, so I wouldn't hesitate to come back the next time I'm in Chicago.

The nice man behind the counter gave me a little dollop of 5-6 sauces and they were all amazing... ! You can't go wrong with any of them. I went with The Amba sauce but really they all were so flavorful! My bowl was huge! More than I could eat in one sitting (similar to the quantity of a chipotle bowl which I also can never finish). The falafel!!! Oh my! Probably one of the most flavorful falafel that I've ever had. Yum! Yum. Yum! My husband had the chicken shawarma ... he said his was awesome, I'm pretty sure awesome chicken shawarma was no where as good as my falafel. I'm not a soda drinker, but if I was, I'd be super excited about their no HFCS soda. All flavors are made with real cane sugar! I was super happy with yelp's suggestion. Fool me once shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. They got me three times. After working in the food business for so long you, you are humble enough to accept human error while ordering. That said, THESE PEOPLE have never given me what I've ordered. I can't wrap my mind around it, this is your job. How is everyone that works here bad at their job? Thank for there are better Mexican joints in Chicago Heights. Drive right past this place, Athena on 30 in Olympia fields has her best gyros in town and the burrito station on Sauk trail in Chicago heights is the best Mexican food in the area. The atmosphere inside is very nice and well themed, with Greek art and music throughout. My favorite bite was the Greek Empanadas (get them with the Spicy Feta!) but everything we got was a hit. The pork souvlaki and classic gyro were both very well seasoned and tender. Plus they have my favorite soup Avgolemono. The menu is big too so can't wait to come back and try more items.
