Chicago Hearing Services is my personal choice for hearing care. Excellent professional services for people like me with a substantial hearing loss. I was lucky enough to receive a recommendation for CHS. I was 68 years old when I finally decided to deal with my hearing loss. My initial diagnosis of hearing loss told me I needed hearing aids. After a visit to an ENT I was fitted with ReSound hearing aids. I went here last year for tinnitus. Sadly, I was advised to spend about $4500 on a Lenire device that proved ineffective, even though I followed the protocol. Seven weeks through my treatment, the practitioner told me I was not responding and should get help elsewhere. After I found the emotional help I needed to habituate to tinnitus, I was to return to finish the treatment. I asked for a refund to pay for this new treatment I was supposed to find. This seemed right since they originally stated that I was a good candidate for Lenire. Then they told me I need other treatment first...BEFORE it would be effective. They refused my refund. Perhaps Lenire is a effective treatment for people who are mildly annoyed with their ringing. But I was distraught. The doctor knew this. I was candid about my emotional state at our first meeting, where I was in tears talking to her. I wish she'd told me up front that Lenire would not be effective for me. Perhaps she didn't know. But why didn't they refund my money when they told me half way into treatment that I needed to seek other help? My hope is that people who are severely emotionally affected by tinnitus are not sold this device and given false hope. I am happy to report that through CBT and mindfulness techniques and other tools, I am doing better. But I cannot say it was in any part due to Chicago Hearing Services. But they still have my money! read more

Cannot recommend enough. I was thrilled to find a place that make house calls for my homebound mother. The visit was great - they were extremely kind and helpful and didn't try to sell us on an expensive hearing aid (or even any hearing aid). They adjusted the current hearing aide which made a huge difference. It's hard to find care for homebound people with this level of attention. So glad I found them. read more

Why do they keep deleting!!! My review!!! This is my 4th attempt to help others warn people....Looks like they deleted my review i will keep posting....BEWARE especially for elderly loved ones we weren't able to get our full refund when we bought my mom RESOUND. They showed us the different prices for ear devices we picked the best one for my mom we asked will we get a refund if she does not like it they said yes within 30days. We brought ours back 2 weeks later. They said you will get a check we will call when to pick up!! Only to find out they kept 800$!!! Granted on the paperwork when we bought said 800 will be kept was (not highlighted at the time of purchase)because we asked so many times at the appointment and we TRUSTED them we thought we woukd get a full refund. NOPE we went to pick the check up not a full refund! She then highlighted the part that they will keep 800!! Sneaky!!! We will take responsibility for our part for trusting the women who sold us the device word and our part for not taking the time to read the contract but Beware !! Dr. Vetter is amazing! She was so kind and helpful. She spent so much time with me and made me feel comfortable by explaining everything she was doing. She gave me my first pair of hearing aids which made me kind of nervous especially since I'm 21 but she put me at ease. No one knows that I wear hearing aids unless I tell them because they're so small and can't even been seen when my hair is up. She even set me up with something that streams the sound from the TV directly into my hearing aids. I never want to see another provider for my hearing issues. I'd recommend Dr. Vetter to everyone I know!! read more

Dr. Vetter-Toalson was great. She did a thorough job with my hearing test. Fixed my hearing aids, replaced the screens (was dirty, really needed replacement!), fixed my ear hook problem (also replaced) and was so kind and patient. Mariam is also nice and friendly. I'd go back whenever I need fixing with my hearing aids, hearing testing and / or new aids. It's hard to finding an audiologist you like or comfortable with. In the last few decades it has become conventional wisdom that we are seeing a decline in customer service. I have experienced that as have many of my friends. But there is one place where customer service is not only alive and well, but truly exceptional. And that place is Chicago Hearing Services at 5600 W. Addison in Chicago. I have been fitted with hearing aids twice by Dr Steven Wolinsky and his attention to the proper fitting and adjustment of my hearing aids was nothing short of exceptional. When some issues arose, he was right there to address them patiently and without question until resolved. I have never experienced such wonderful service and because of him I am enjoying hearing everything clearly and naturally once again. And I can't pass up mention of his staff, Dr Marie Vetter and Mary Rita. They both treat patients with the utmost of respect and sensitivity. They are to be commended as well. Dr Vetter is terrific! I had hearing loss for quite some time and finally decided to go and get tested. Not to surprise I had significant hearing loss and needed hearing aids. Dr. Marie Vetter has helped to save my sanity! A person, who shall not be named, has been in denial about his hearing loss for years. I made an appointment for him with Dr. Marie Vetter. After his appointment with her he said very little about the results of the hearing test. It turns out that she had suggested hearing aids, but he was still in denial about the need for them. I made another appointment for him which I attended with him. He is now wearing his imperceptible hearing aids and he has admitted that he is really happy with them. The upside for me is that I no longer need to repeat everything. The down side for him is that he can't say that he didn't hear me! read more

Both of us found him extremely personable, knowledgeable and extraordinarily conscientious. The experience came as a great relief especially under such sensitive circumstances. Dr. Vetter is awesome! This was our first visit with her on July 25. She was so friendly, professional, and welcoming. She understood my husband's problem with his left hearing aid and fixed it right away. She took lots of time to explain her services and even recommended a couple of ENT doctors, if and when we should need to have our ears cleaned, etc. Miriam, the receptionist /office manager,was just as friendly and helpful.
