My husband and I had been wanting to try this pizza for the longest. What we didn't know was that the establishment was not dine in. We decided to order online. Because we were already at the location, hubby and sat in the car and watched as our pizza was being made. The doors to the kitchen were open so I was able to see first hand, the guy (who I now know is the owner), grab everything with his bare hands. He then disappeared and reappeared with the basil pesto bread that we ordered. By that time, another customer had come in to pick up his pizza. I watched as he sat the bread down on the counter and went to grab the other customers food and hand it to him. Afterwards, he proceeded to make our food. By this time I had seen enough. I walked in and let him know that I no longer wanted the food because I wasn't comfortable with the unsanitary food handling that I had witnessed. He asked me why and I told him. Ok this 5 stars was tough to give. The food was great. Guy helping me was great. Inside is small it's not an eat in type of place. For the area... prices are just too high. But if you want quality hood tasting chicago style thin crust, that's the place to go. Great sauce. But 2 pizzas and a salad cost me 80 bucks. It's a once in a while place for me. While it isn't my business, my advice found be to adjust the pricing a bit, aim for higher volume to balance out your bottom line. It's a pizza spot not a steak house. Okay, so the pizza is good, but it's not what I think is deep dish. Not like the kind you get at Gino's or Uno. It's more thick crust than deep dish. I ordered a pizza, and asked how long it would take. I was told 15 minutes. That's when I started thinking something wasn't quite right. Any time I've gotten a true deep dish pizza, it's always been at least a 45 minute wait. Pizza comes out, and while it was good, I noticed right away it had a thick bottom crust on it. Kind of like a french bread crust. The sauce and toppings were no thicker than any other regular pizza you would get anywhere else. Anyway, the menu has salads, sandwiches, wings, and other items on it that look interesting, so might be back to try some of those, but I'll pass on the pizza. While good, not really the way I like it. I was looking for a place to get true deep dish, and this isn't it. It's small inside, there are a couple of counters attached to the windows with stools for seating. Drinks are bottles and cans. Not really a good dine in place. So I saw an advertisement for this new pizza place a while ago, and I said I was going to try it. Today I was starving and pizza sounded good. The reviews seem to be around average. I now see why the reviews came out to an average, because the pizza is just kind of average. But is an average a four or is an average a three? I'm just not sure it wasn't that it was inedible. It was edible and as others said it had a spicy sauce to it. That was nice and didn't seem to give me Gerd or anything. The mozzarella was just OK. I noticed on the menu the pepperoni is a beef pepperoni, and so is the sausage. Not sure that made any difference I'm not sure that the meat and I had red onions seemed all that fresh, not that it wasn't fresh. It just wasn't fresh fresh like you would get where at a restaurant where they try to make it so fresh. The ingredients just seem like they were purchased at a grocery store or a commercial food service. I didn't like the crust or the breading on the pizza at all. It had that weird almost like cornmeal on the bottom that you get on Red Baron pizza from the grocery store. Not sure why they put that cornmeal type of stuff on the bottom of grocery store. Pizzas now because I don't think it adds anything to it. It's sort of annoying. The crust didn't really have a taste. It was kind of a little hard or maybe dense would be the more appropriate word. As others have mentioned, I wouldn't call this a Chicago deep dish pizza at all. This is about the size of a pan pizza from Pizza Hut may be a little thicker, but if this pizza was any thicker, the breading or the dough would be probably really not very good. I'm not sure if this place is locked and loaded on the recipe. I think there's room from improvement. I think if the crust could be a little tastier the sauce is very good I think also maybe try purchasing the accompaniments from another place. So not the best pizza I've ever had but certainly not the worst. Would I ever order it again? I would be at a hard no just because I just wouldn't have a taste for this and I didn't like the crust. Also, the name of the restaurant is a bit deceiving because you think that you were truly getting a deep dish type of pizza and it is far from that. We tried this new place tonight and were pleasantly surprised. While it is not traditional Chicago style pizza, the deep dish is more of a thick crust pizza but the sauce and toppings are very good. My wife and daughters had the Italian roast beef sandwich and they loved it. The pesto cheese garlic bread was very crispy and flavorful. The seating is very limited (6 total stools), so this is more of a takeout place, but the service was great and the food was prepared pretty quickly. Decided to give this new place a try. I placed the order online which was super easy. I decided to just order a 6 inch Chicago bull to give it a try for the first time. The service was great. The pizza was fantastic. The sauce has a little spice to it, but not too spicy in my opinion and all of the ingredients taste and appear to be very high-quality. This place is not dine in, my advice is to call ahead and pick up. On our pizza most the toppings were gathered in the center (-1 Star). Like they forgot to add more toppings near the crust. One area was barron of cheese, like the cook was too lazy to spread the cheese around. They were not busy either. That area turned out to be good because the crust was crispy there with only sauce. Over all I did enjoy the flavor of the crust, cooked just right. Maybe Chicago Style is made that way? I would only order it again if I was driving by that area. I would not make a special trip. It was cold, greasy and the sauce tasted weird, not to mention , it was supposed to be deep dish and wasn't . They deliver through an app called slice to which they also direct you to if you try to text the given number to complain. So I was told by the rep that they made the pizza the way it was intended, so they would not do anything, so not only do they have terrible food, but terrible customer service as well.
