This was another Restaurant Week 2026 pick for a Sunday afternoon buffet. I picked this place simply because they had Nepali Goat Curry on the menu. The restaurant itself is located in a residential building. We got a little twisted around because we saw the address on the door and entered into a lobby, but soon realized there was no way to get into the building. Because we had parked on State Street and saw the sign on the corner of State, we assumed the restaurant was through the main door. It is actually further down the street from the main door. The place itself has a storefront look. When you walk in, there is a bar directly across from the door and there are two dining areas, a larger space to the right and a few booths and tables on the side where the buffet is. Let me start off by saying that the Nepali Goat Curry was on point! The goat meat was tender, which was great because it was bone-in, so it was easy to pull the meat off the bone. Chicken Tandoori was good too and there was plenty of it in terms of the legs, which I love. Some places I have been to will bring the chicken out separate. While this is hot and freshly prepared, I prefer having it as part of the buffet so I can get it when I want it. Butter Chicken was good but I would have preferred a little more seasoning, but it was good nonetheless. The Jeera rice was very good and great for putting the goat curry and butter chicken on top of it, as well as the Palak Paneer. The Aloo Tama Bodi was also good. The service was nice. I think maybe the owner was taking care of us, wasn't sure. They had splits of bubbles, so I was happy. BFFs 1 and 2 got a Bloody Mary and a Vodka Orange juice and I guess the owner had a heavy pour when it came to the liquor, but no one complained. We had a great meal and was pleasantly surprised that the cost was $10 less than the $30 that was on the Restaurant Week menu, so definitely was a great deal. I would come back here just for the goat curry and the bubbles, plus the ease of parking.
Great Nepali food. I enjoyed everything so much. The owner is so kind too. The inside is always clean and the white table cloths are a very nice touch. The momos and the paneer are a must. The lamb samosa was so well seasoned. The yogurt is so homey I ate it by itself. Also the best mango lassi I've ever had!
My friend and I went here for the all you can eat buffet on a Saturday. They offer this every day 10:30 am- 3:30 pm. On weekends the buffet is $19.95. We thought that was a great deal as normally one plate of Indian food is at least $18. My favorite dish from the buffet was the chicken vindaloo it was nice and spicy with boneless chicken and potatoes. The garlic naan was very tasty and fresh. I also enjoyed the biryani rice, the Nepali chow main and palak paneer. For dessert they had a really good mango pudding and rice pudding. The service was great they kept clearing our empty plates and refilling food on buffet as needed. Me and my friend will definitely be back!
I was walking by and could smell all the amazing aromas so I had to go inside. Such a warm and cozy atmosphere. Beautiful art work. Spacious interior with a few rooms and many tables and booths. Excellent and attentive service. The food is delicious! The lamb samosa is amazing!!! The chicken chow mein is very flavorful and addictive. I love the masala tea. They have a lunch buffet every day and I look forward to trying that. I'll definitely return!
The brunch buffet is absolutely worth the price. Excellently prepared various curries, complete with rice, spiced rice, crispy rice puffs (Nepalese), or naan, whatever you prefer. I enjoyed trying all the different curries, some which I was familiar with already, some which were new! There is even salad and dessert to offset the heavy food. The staff is very friendly and quick to refill. The inside is quite fancy, nicely decorated.

I am always nervous to use Uber eats to order takeout in Chicago because I've had some bad experiences with places being low quality. So, I didn't expect much when I ordered from here at first. But when I saw how nice the food looked I was very hopeful. And it was really hot which was awesome. I tried a bite and instantly knew that this place is the real deal and all the stuff was spectacular! Literally we ordered one dish to be hot and one dish to be mild as far as spiciness, and they even made sure to do that. This place is so good I'm so glad that I finally found a go-to takeout spot and I'm definitely gonna order from here again. Maybe even the same dishes because they were so good, but since I know that the food is good here I'll probably find other stuff on the menu to try because it really is good food. Love this place and definitely want to go there in person soon!
The Chicago Curry House doesn't have a large buffet, but the dishes that they offer are very tasty and some of my favorites. The inside is smaller than I expected but can seat large parties (~12 people). The manager, when I went, was very helpful, especially since I have a nut allergy. They have a wide range of dishes that cater to various dietary restrictions, I believe. It's a great place to stop for a buffet ($20 on the weekends, $17 on the weekdays).
Food was reasonably priced, the mango lassi is great, and the food is great but may be spicy even if not marked spicy. Atmosphere was great, no obnoxious loud music. Staff was nice and attentive

Ordered on UberEats while visiting Chicago. Food was okay and somewhat affordable, but probably wouldn't come back! FOOD: Lamb Tikka Masala (5/10) - Way too much better added, and the lamb inside was pretty dry. Garlic Naan (5/10) - Seems like store bought!

My favorite restaurant in the south loop. The smell from the kitchen when entering is inviting, and a good indicator you're in the right place. It's a family owned restaurant, and the owner is often there running the show. The flavors and textures are amazing. Some of my favorites are palek paneer, garlic nan, papadum, chickpea salad, and fried paneer. This restaurant pairs well with an evening of jazz around the corner at the Jazz Showcase.

Of course my daughter would crave Indian food while in Chicago -- luckily Chicago Curry House was just a short walk from our hotel. We were seated right away at a booth by a window. After our order was taken, the place started to get really busy as it began to crowd at the entrance. In just a few minutes all tables were taken. Service slowed down a bit as the staff tried to work through the influx. We had the Shrimp Makhani, Lamb Madras and Garlic Naan. They made a mistake by giving us Chicken Makhani, but it was corrected quickly. Every entree comes with basmati rice. Portions were smaller than what we're used to, but well prepared and delicious, nonetheless. The staff was kind and apologetic for the slow service. The owner came out to greet and check on tables. Solid Indian food near downtown. Rating 8/10 | Cost $18 Pros: Pretty interior, full bar, lost of seating. Cons: Limited parking Dinner for one. I order online for their 15% discount code (CHICAGO). Staff were nice explaining how to get the discount and how long until my order would be ready. Took it to go. Neatly packed but no utensils. One curry and one rice was the perfect amount for a normal dinner for one. The spice level of Medium was great, curry was not too creamy, and the lamb was plentiful. The price point is higher than I am used to but I could enjoy their buffet guilt free! That looked like the real deal! read more

We went because we had hoped there was the weekend buffet but unfortunately they're still not offering it. But we still decided to eat and the food was so delicious! The service was quick despite only one person serving and waiting tables. The restaurant wasn't too busy for a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't too loud and we could have a conversation with each other at an appropriate volume. Can't wait to try even more food here read more

*2.5 i don't know, i wouldn't come back here.. nothing super specific but overall just underwhelmed with our experience. we started off with the steamed momos which i've never had before. they were pretty gummy and the sauce was cold which ruined the experience for me. the filling inside the momos is pretty good though. we also got the mixed vegetable biryani and an eggplant curry and they were okay but not anything to write home about. maybe i didn't get the right things on the menu or they had an off day because it seems like people rly like this spot, so wld check it out if you're in the mood to see how you like it but I don't think it's for me. the service was good and the inside of the restaurant is nice read more
Stopped in to get some chicken momos but added tandoori chicken and butter naan to the order. I only liked the momos , the butter naan was a huge let down and the tandoori chicken had such a smoky flavor not my favorite. read more
I ordered takeout from Chicago Curry House last night and it was delicious! I got the fried chicken MoMo and chicken tikka masala and it was the perfect warm and delicious comfort food on a rainy Chicago night! Food was well priced and ready pretty quickly. Highly recommend, will be back! read more

Was craving Indian food and stumbled upon this while in town! Was very delighted to learn that they also have Nepalese food - the Chili Fried Momos were incredible and well received by the entire table. It took awhile for food to arrive but it was a Saturday night. My sister and I went to Chicago Curry House the last day I was visiting her in Chicago. What a perfect last meal for my trip. We ordered the mixed vegetable pakora which was delicious with so much flavor. If you like pakora, you should definitely order those. We also ordered the samosas, garlic naan, and the Navratan Korma vegetarian dish with cashew gravy. Even though I'm not vegetarian, it is one of my favorite Indian dishes. The garlic naan was the freshest I have ever eaten, and the Navratan Korma dish was the perfect choice for our main course. In addition to the awesome meal, the service was excellent. We really liked our server and the manager/owner gave us complimentary mango pudding before we left. From the kind service to the delicious food, this restaurant should be a stop if you are in Chicago or if you live in South Loop. Thank you Chicago Curry House! read more
