Chicago Copier is always there when we need them. We cancelled our service contract with Konica Minolta when Chicago Copier solved a repair problem that the manufacturer's rep couldn't! It saved us from having to invest in a new machine. We now call Chicago Copier for all maintenance, repairs and supplies. We find their pricing very competitive and they respond quickly to our calls. This is my second review of Chicago Copier Services. I first wrote about the company in February 2015, when Eric fixed my 30+-year-old Canon copier that had been able to make 11" x 17" enlargements--but had stopped working entirely. Eric was able to diagnose the problem(s), and tell me exactly which parts were defective. I found the new parts online and purchased them. Eric came back and successfully installed them. So, yesterday, when--as the unfortunate result of a power outage--my 15+-year-old Sharp printer/copier/scanner stopped working, of course, I remembered Eric, and Chicago Copier Services. Unbelievably, Eric was able to fit a visit to me into his very busy day. This time was reminiscent of my experience of two years ago. Eric was not only able to fix the printer/copier. He also fixed the document feed component that had not worked for many years. In other words, once again, Eric went "way beyond the call of duty." Good people. If I remember correctly, the tech diagnosed the issue, then came back a week later with the required part(s). No added prompting or cost was necessary. The tech kept my 25 year old HP MFC printer running for a few more years. He also let me know the life expectancy based on the avail/cost of replacement parts. Sadly, those expensive parts finally broke, and the printer needed to be discarded. If it wasn't for Chicago Copier, it's life would have been much shorter. read more

When my old Canon Copier broke down, my students cheered thinking there would be less homework. I took "Old Faithful' to Chicago Copier Services thinking this is where it and I would probably part ways because it was probably not fixable. They spent much time tracking down parts and to my surprise, they have made my old copier work like new. Being a teacher, I can't afford a new copier so I really appreciate the amount of effort Chicago Copier took to keep me copying. Our HP printer was streaking badly. Chicago Copier Services came to clean my unit. It worked great at first, but began streaking again. Before I could call them and request a follow up visit, they called ME and asked me how everything was. The next day they sent another technician who was extremely helpful, fast, and polite. He shared with me the cause of my streaks and cleaned them up as best as possible. I learned more about my machine, and was satisfied with the tech and the excellent customer service. read more

Have to update the review as someone from their customer service department saw that we were unhappy, and called us back to see if they could remedy the situation. They picked up our machine, found a solution, and had it back to us in working order within two days, at no additional charge. Don't bother. Called them and explained that our copy/fax was working fine except for a single button. Unfortunately, it was the start button, without which, the machine could not be operated. They were quick to send someone out, but all he could do was verify that the button didn't work. Promised a call back with a price quote on replacing entire keyboard, but never called. Had to call every day for three days to get a response. Cost of the keyboard was going to be as much as a new machine. Didn't offer any other solutions. Basically wasted $74, which is what they charged to look at the machine. read more

The service tech came out the same day I called them. He couldn't fix the problem on site but ordered the part he needed. Within a few days he returned but still could not fix on site. He took the machine with him and basically rebuilt the copier. He delivered the rebuilt machine in a timely manner. The Chicago Copier Services emailed to make sure we were satisfied. I feel Chicago Copier Services did a great job and I will be a returning customer. read more

Chicago Copier Services is a scam! Our printer wasn't detecting paper correctly. They quoted me a fixed price of $345 to repair it. They sent a guy who told me that the paper sensor was bad (no kidding), and that he didn't have the parts to fix it. The next day, they sent me a bill for $345, and quote of over $600 for the parts. A bit shocked by the price of parts, I checked Amazon, where I immediately found them for $125. Naturally I ordered them from Amazon. I emailed Chicago Copier, who told me that I'd have to pay an additional service charge if I wouldn't pay their ripoff price of almost 5 times retail! When I originally called, there were no other qualifications on their "fixed price" service. In fact, they told me specifically that I wouldn't have to pay any more if the repairman had to return to complete the repair. I guess that what they meant was "Don't worry, we'll add $425 to the price of the parts to cover a second trip." read more

Chicago copier services has made a repeat customer out of me. First off the prices are very reasonable as opposed to all the other printer/copier places around. They are also so quick! I had a copier issue on one of our stand alone big units and called around 930 in the morning and I had a technician out by 1 P.M. Unfortunately I didn't purchase this unit through them but I will definitely be purchasing any of my next ones with them, the girl on the phone was telling all about their leasing and purchasing options and they all sounded very reasonable. This is the first time I've used Chicago Copier, my choice was in part based on other reviews which proved to be true. This is a very professional organization that is highly knowledgeable. They delivered when they said they would as promised on all aspects of the repairs my HP 3600n needed. Aldo, Tania and the technicians I met delivered great customer service, and they kept me posted on their progress in fixing my printer problems. This is one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever worked with. We are an LA based production company filming in Chicago and needed our production office set up with a printer/scanner/copier. 1. we ordered a very specific brand of copier and got another copier with out notice. It wasn't until I called to ask about it that they let me know they switched the machines. no shit. 2. the guy who delivered the machine barely knew how to turn it on. how are you going to deliver your product and not know basics?! 3. we couldn't get the scanner set up so they sent out THE SAME DELIVERY GUY to help with the problem. "I don't know why they sent me back out, I don't know how to use this machine. At this point we are about 3 days into having the printer/scanner/copier and I have spend about 2-3 hours every day working on this machine. 4. i get on the phone with their referred IT guy to discuss the scanner issue we had, he tells me to GOOGLE THE MANUEL AND FIGURE IT OUT. Who says that!? Called the company again and they send out an IT guy. 5. IT guy comes out and says its the machine and we should get a new one. Next day we get a new machine and the same IT guy comes back again. He can't get the scanner to work on either machine. 6. We are now about a week into having no proper working machine. We have two HUGE machines in our office and nothing works. IT comes back out with his HP laptop and shows me that the scanner in fact does work because, 'see it works on MY computer, must be your network'. Its not our network, our building houses many other offices and copy machines, and we do not operate under HP laptops, this machine needs to work with the customer's equipment, NOT THE IT'S. 7. we are now a week and a half into our rental. I finally call Digital Copier Services and they get us a printer/scanner/copier machine the very next day. And IT technician comes out and gets us set up on the network, scanner, etc within 15 minutes. So apparently it was NOT the network, or OUR COMPUTERS, but the Chicago Copier Service's machine. To top it off, every time I would call in, Jim would gone for the day. I never called after 2pm. How are you running a company when you are never in to talk to the customers. Then they continued to charge for the delivery of their faulty equipment! I can not express enough how horrible of a company this is. I know that my company will NEVER work with them again, nor will any of our local Chicago based producers crew or management. and to have the audacity to email telling me about my yelp review?! So my Epson 2880 photo printer stopped working. I tried to fix it myself and knocked a little roller off so I figured it was time to call a professional. It is actually hard to find a company that does these kind of repairs but fortunately after my phone call to Chicago Copier Services I was a little relieved. I dropped my printer off and it was fixed within a week. I printed a large photo today and everything works great. If your copier or printer is large bring someone with you as you will have to go through 2 or three closed doors. read more

Have a 10+ year old Dell Laser printer, big and bulky. The tech Ivan worked on the printer on-site, then realized he'd need more time so brought it to the shop. Within one week it was like new.
