I saw a cool looking poster on social media (of all places) and decided to order one without a frame included (read: cheaper). I figured a trip to one of the previously mentioned stores would be enough. BUT, once I physically had the poster, I thought I better get an even cooler frame for it. Voila. Helloooo, The Great Frame Up. I know I passed this place many times and now I had an excuse to check it out. When I brought in said poster and worked with one of the employees who pinned it up on this large board where we played with different frame samples. I think we tried about 8-10 samples (some twice) before choosing the one. The employee, whose name I cannot remember, and I went through the various options, including the glass that won't fade your artwork, and pricing. As others have mentioned, they will put together all the materials you'd need should you want to do it at home. Since I didn't trust myself having that much power, I asked them to frame it even if it cost a little extra. They will even throw in the right hook and wiring to hang your framed piece. My order took about two weeks, which wasn't that bad because it was close to the holiday gift giving season.

I had two fragile prints from 1929 that I need framed. Now I'm kicking myself I took valuable items to this shop. First off the framing that was done was poor. Each print had gaping cracks at the corners. But I could have lived with that. Secondly they damaged one of the prints. There was a large crease in the middle where there hadn't been one before. When I called to talk to management they blamed me for the crease even though I have photos which I shared with him of the before and after damage. I will never go back to this shop. And I would encourage you to reconsider bringing any valuable or sentimental artwork here.

He could have told me to bring it in for service. Instead, he told me I should be able to replace them myself. He suggested I order the parts online and look for a manual or maintenance video online as well. I did. The parts will be delivered tomorrow and there are several good videos on how to replace both. After researching and speaking…read moreto 7 companies, we chose Zeaport Equipment for a 2-year-old refurbished floor model printer (Xerox). This is a solid family-run business, and they are the essence of going above and beyond. After the heavy storms last weekend, our printer conked out (that's a technical term!). We had purchased an annual maintenance/service agreement in addition to the printer itself, and it really came in handy. I rang Nicole, the owner, and she herself came to see what was up with our unit. It took a day but it is now up and running, no charge of course, and she even worked with our IT department (located in NY) to get everything set up and reconfigured. Going above and beyond. And, advice: choose the service agreement... it is a reasonable price to pay for less headaches. Excellent customer service and solid technical knowledge. Highly recommended.

Not too thrilled with my Zeaport experience so far…read more I wanted to buy a copier/printer for a small business that works with schools. It was going to replace a hp 11x17 that had been a workhorse (over 400,00 prints) but had finally died. Xerox machine was delivered. The invoice stated that it was a better model than it actually was. Turned the thing on and it copied fine. In the upcoming days I couldn't get it to scan to my computer no matter how hard I tried. The suggestion was to read the manual and set it up. I wonder why I didn't try that in the first place. A week or two after getting the printer, there was a big yellow bar that started printing on the side of the page. Looks like errant toner. I emailed and was told to swap around the drums. That didn't fix things. Next, the printer would randomly chunk a bunch of black toner all over the back side of pages...in addition to the yellow on the front. The solution from Zeaport was to get new toner and pull some cleaner levers. By this point I'm fairly frustrated that Zeaport doesn't care enough to follow up on their sale. After two weeks away without using the printer and two new toner cartridges this thing is printing horribly. Now I'm asked to pay $150 for someone to come look at this 'technician refurbished' machine that has only made a couple hundred prints and has problems immediately after delivery. Maybe this is the way that they get people to buy maintenance contracts. I didn't a 'technician certified refurbished' machine would be a P.O.S. right away. I'll update this after the technician takes a look at this and gives me an update. For now I'd tell anyone to avoid buying from Zeaport or to get a solid warranty or expectation of quality for the machine you get. At a minimum this equipment should work for 60-90 days without falling apart.

At the top, or behind the counter, sits a kind and benevolent guru named Guy, who is there for all my and your printing needs. He was patient with me when I forgot to put in printer's marks. When I went to pick up the proofs, he brought me behind the counter and into the printing room and his computer to show me why my particular design would have cropping issues. He patiently sent me back to the drawing board and happily emailed me to tell me when it was time to come back for attempt number two. The prints look great. I can't comment on the prices because the boss writes the checks not me, but Guy is great to work with. I know his phone calls will make me laugh and his prints will make me smile.

The Chicago skyline, the colors, the little graphics for meal choices, etc. It's all exactly the invitation we wanted. I love sending these out and I can't wait to see the responses we get! However, I have to be honest, the customer service left me feeling disappointed. Weeks would go by with no response, the proof did not come when expected/promised and I finally had to send an e-mail detailing how upset I was to get anything done. I had wanted my invitations in the mail weeks ago and I received the finished product last week. When I did receive them, the counts were off for each element. Also, pricing was odd. Listed at one price, charged another, finally came to an agreement as to the final price. All that said, I do love the invites. I just wish they had been easier to get.
