Great food! I've been coming here for years. The food is consistently good and always fresh. The only thing I don't like is that they're not always friendly and It's hard to order sometimes if you don't speak creole. I suggest learning some words to communicate what you want. read more

Tap Tap in South Beach has more ambiance (and I'm biased cuz Schmap used one of the photos I took there for its city guide: http://schmap.com/miami/restaurants_southbeach/), but I think Chez Le Bebe has better food. I don't know much about Haitian food, but this place was yummy. My sis and I were the only non-black people there, and I was conspicuously dressed in South Beach attire, sporting gold heels and all, but folks were friendly and didn't stare at us or anything. The menu is simple and all the entrees come with salad (just iceberg and a tomato slice), rice with beans (i love rice), and a couple large slices of fried plantains. They were out of veggies and chicken, so we got the goat stew and steamed fish. It was a ton of food for $20 (goat was $8 and fish was $12) and we were stuffed. Plus the server was really nice. read more

I've only been to Chez Le Bebe once so far - the food was ok, but not not as good as I had been hoping from some of the reviews here. I had the legume dish, which tasted a bit like it had been flavored with commercial Italian spaghetti sauce -- not a bad taste, but not what I had been expecting. I've heard their forte are their fried dishes, so will have to try some of that next time. The woman at the counter seemed perfectly pleasant, so on the late-Friday or Saturday night that I went by, I didn't experience any of the really bad service that a number of other reviewers have had. (Although it would have been nicer if she'd have let me know how long the order would take and if she would have said that I should pay when the food was ready, rather than having left me standing at the counter waiting to pay.) read more

Must get Haitian food in Miami. That griot (fried pork) was so delicious. I could eat this on the daily. Wait wasn't as bad as I thought it would be (maybe 15 min) and it's cash only. Great flavors, delicious gravy. Love, love, love read more

Chez Le Bebe - Haitian Near Me - Miami, Florida

Wholly molly! I am stuffed! I just got back from Chez Le Bebe a few minutes ago and will stay lounging on my bed for the next 2 hours. The food portions are over the top. Put it this way: they are not skimpy with any portions. You can split one entree with 2-3 people depending how hungry you are. I got there too late for Oxtail so went with my back up plan of fried fish (hey..if you're going to go all out...just go all out) We took a cab from SoBe to Little Haiti ($24 bucks including tip one way)..but found it worth it because we paid $50 bucks for a crappy meal on Lincoln road that was bland. If you have a car, then its cool to head out there. When we were done eating they called a cab for us which was fine. Anyway...i'm stuffed. This is the utlimate comfort food. Just decide what type of meat you want (chicken, fish, pork, beef, etc) and it comes with rice and/or salad and fried plantains. The steady flow of people (non-stop) is a nice sight for people watching. I'm not from Miami...but the next time I'm back..i'll def. make another trip out there...its an execellent bang for the buck. $12 for Fried Fish and sides $7 for Fried Chicken and sides read more

Ahhhhh love this place for the price! I went one day while I was in town visiting my boyfriends family. Came here on a weekday, so the wait was not long and was surprised at how cheap the food was for the amount you get. I got the griot platter, which had the salad the dirty rice beans, a passion fruit juice. Man it was sooooo much I finished about 3/4. Despite the griot being a little dry, the food was good for the price you pay. read more

Never had Haitian food before so I have nothing to compare it to. Got the griot (fried pork) and it was awesome. It actually had similarities to what my filipino dad would make so I was satisfied. Also enjoyed the orange sauce they had on the table. One tip I have is that you gotta be aggressive as there is no line. I also agree with everyone that the portion is enough for 2 light eaters. read more

Chez Le Bebe - a plate of food - Haitian Near Me - Miami, Florida

The spicy slaw is amazing!!!! I had the Griot which was nice as well. The rice and beans was unexciting but fine. ****We weren't looking for the goat head stew but asked her about it and she informed us they no longer make it*** Just a heads up. read more

The griot was hard, dry, and hurt my mucous membranes and alimentary tract as it went down to my stomach. Griot at Tap Tap was the same. Regardless of whether this is authentic Haitian food or not, I am not a fan. read more

I'm a big fan of Haitian food so I know of all the good spots to go to. I happen to crave some Haitian food and decided to stop by here to pick up my favorite dish, rice and beans, griot and fried plantains. Every time I come there's always rude ladies behind the counter looking as if they don't want to be there. They need to work on providing customer service especially when we are the ones buying food which pays their paycheck. The food is always delicious which keeps me coming back to this location rather than Chef Creole. The prices are cheap for the amount of food you get. Definitely filling and I would definitely recommend this to anyone. read more

Chez Le Bebe - Haitian Near Me - Miami, Florida

This place should be labeled as legendary because the food has been the same for decades. I started coming here when I was 8 years old which is almost 30 years ago it was located on NE 2nd ave inside the little efficiency area. We lived across the street in Sabal Palm I always ordered the Lambo which they no longer sell I'm wondering why but then we just wanted the fish, legume and world famous griot NEVER COME TO MIAMI WITHOUT STOPPING HERE read more

Most of the food is decent, and when compared to other options in the area...this will definitely satisfy your palate. I liked the legume (tasty veggie mash but with pork?) but the stewed chicken was extremely greasy and on the dry side. If you're gonna fry and stew chicken, it should be dark meat. The sauce was tangy, which I like but half of it was grease so couldn't enjoy the way I wanted to. Didn't like that pickliz only comes with griot and the food is not very spicy on its own....or that boiled green plantain was the only side option. Beware that the two ladies upfront are RUDE and have no customer service skills. I'm used to people not bending over backwards, but a little common courtesy please? I asked for pickliz with my meal, which seems standard at every other Haitian restaurant, and the lady rolled her eyes, sucked her teeth, and told me no....they didn't have time for that. I was so taken back by her rudeness I had to laugh. All the customers at the front counter looked at her in amazement, so I know it wasn't just me. Not to mention the fact that I called in my order at 11:50, arrived at 12:30, and didn't get my food until 1:00. If you don't take phone orders, why not say that? It would be helpful. AND she was rude on the phone. I think the portions have a lot to do with the high reviews, but sometimes mass produced food loses that extra touch that makes the food distinct. Long story short, the food is ok, but definitely not the best. I actually like Chef Creole's legume better and have had non-greasy, non-dry, more flavorful chicken at a few other spots. Definitely not worth paying my money for the attitude. read more

i went to chez labebe i got the oxtail and a few hours later i was throwing up my life until there was nothing left but a dry heav. It was terrible i would never eat there again. ive been trying to call for 2 hrs and the ph is off line the worst oxtail ive ever eatin. please take my advice it was horrible and oxtail is my favorite food. i have eatin it a hundred times never ever gottin sick. Can not say that anymore read more

The food here is not bad at all but the service here is terrible. If you get grossed out easily, you will not order food here. The service is terrible and the place is not clean. The representatives are extremely rude. If you are hungry and you want your food quickly, DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. The representatives talk about you when they think that you dont speak the language. If you have a lot of free time, patience and you desire to eat desent Haitian food, then this is the place for you. read more

I wish there was an option for no stars. Honestly this restaurant doesn't deserve 1 star. I will kill myself before I ever support TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!. There was a rude, disrespectful pregnant woman, who was chatting with another lady. I walked up, they looked at me and continue talking. It seemed she was upset, that a paying customer interrupt her conversation. Mind you I preorder my food, so I seen it sitting there. She procrastinated on bring my plate. The griot was over cooked, some parts were hard and dry. The sauce had to much oil, rice wasn't all that. The inside looks old and dirty. This restaurant been around for 28 years! And you mean to tell me, from all that money being made an investment in décor can't be made?.. What a dump! Customer service is everything. I refuse to lower my standards just because this Restaurant has a little recognition. read more

Journeyed down to Little Haiti for the Griot and wasn't disappointed. Go for the "complete" over the "simple" so you get the full slew of sides: rice & beans, plantains, simple salad and the spicy slaw called pikliz...that's the killer app right there, so good. Ordering can be a little chaotic, but it's worth the "hassle." I wouldn't put much weight in the reviews that gripe about the staff being rude. They don't baby you that's for sure, but I for one respect places that don't lay on the fake "how can help you sir/madam?" -it's not Starbucks in Doral. It's all part of the experience, so just embrace it, smile, leave a tip, and you'll be a welcomed regular in no time. read more

Food is good but the woman in the counter is so friggin rude. Didnt want to give us to go plates. The griot was hard and dry, looked like leftovers from the previous day that was refried again read more

Chez Le Bebe is the bomb when I eat a griot plate (every 6 months) one plate feeds me and my kids that is awesome, the portions they can feed a whole family if your not a big eater. what can i say i love me haitian food and this restaurant is one of the best in town there is...I love that they give you so much food for your money and the food is always delicious. I could eat there almost everyday...the only thing i hate is the menu is pretty limited...but afer that everything is great they have very reasonable price and service is always fast! This is a good place to eat if you want some haitian food. read more

This place is absolutely delicious! No frills, just LOTS of good food. Unfortunately I don't speak Haitian Creole and that makes learning about the menu a tad difficult, but what a better way to learn about the food than to explore - let me tell you, I jumped right in and I'm lovin' it! I ordered the chicken stew with beans and rice & friend plantains - freakin awesome, little spicy (which I LoVe) and enough for me and the bf to share. LOVE that it's open late, and that it's full of locals - I'm assuming this is pretty damn authentic, but alas, I am not Haitian, nor have I been to Haiti, so I must plead ignorance :( Try it for take-out, you'll love it! read more

If you like Haitian food, this is the place for you! The prices are very reasonable and the woman that runs it is super nice and you can definitely tell that they do it right here! I went for lunch not too long ago and ordered the oxtails, which I hadn't had in a few years and they were excellent! The sauce that they were in was delicious as well! I definitely recommend this place if you're in the area and want some great Haitian food! read more

Only giving a 3 because of the food. I ordered their Oxtails with rice and beans and a Soda. The total was 13.50. This place is strictly takeout even tho you can sit down and eat but I wouldn't want to because their customer service Sucks. The girl in the front has a stank ass attitude like somebody owe her something. Tables are nasty and sticky and never clean. The floor never is sweeped. If I come back it would only be because of the food. read more

My first time ever trying Haitian food and it was a win! I went there tonight with my dude. I got the griot (fried pork) with rice and peas, tostones, and salad for about $8 but it was worth so much more because the food is so good and the portions are HUGE. I had to bring some home and I very rarely leave a restaurant with food still on the plate. My dude got the oxtails and they were pretty good but anyone who eats oxtail knows that It's never enough meat on them. That was his only issue though. He loved everything else. I would have given this place five stars but the only reason I didn't was because of the way the place is set up. It's not very functional especially when you want to sit and eat but as far as the food is concerned, you have to try it. You will not be disappointed. read more

The food here was great. It is a local establishment so the lady at the counter did have issues understanding my friends and I. This was my first time having Haitian food and I got the Tilapia with rice, beans and plantains. The fish was extremely fresh and cooked to perfection. I had the Griot (Fried Pork) and Rice with beans. I kinda liked the pork but the rice was atrocious. The rice smelled and tasted burnt. I don't know how these people do it, but it tasted like it was geniunely burnt. I was very disappointed with the qualit of the food. My friend and I went back to Chez Le Bebe a few days ago and things were NOT the same! It appears I got the "rude lady" a few reviewers mentioned! I entered the restaurant and waited in line to place my order. There were only two people ahead of us, and when it was our turn to order, she just stood there....didn't greet us...nada. I asked her if we could order. She then acts like she is doing us a favor by taking our order. She takes the entire order and doesn't mention anything about being out of rice! I just happened to ask if I could have white rice instead of rice and beans, and that's when she decides to tell me its gonna take 45 minutes to make rice! It's Sunday at 4pm (they close at 11pm) and you are out of rice?! Seriously?? ALL their dishes are served with a humongous portion of rice, and no one noticed they were running out? We cancelled our order and left. There were no apologies or reaction from rude lady. I hate disorganized businesses. I also hate dealing with indifferent ass-----! I won't be back. I am pretty sure there are other good Haitian restaurants out there! read more

This is a hole-in-the-wall in the ever prestigious section of Miami called LITTLE HAITI. It was run down like hell - old and poor/no service - a very authentic feel. You have to pay everything in cash, but make sure YOU COUNT YOUR CHANGE - my two friends were taken advantage of and it really sucked. Food is prepared within adequate time and plenty of food. I ordered tasso turkey - came with rice/beans, pickled onions, plantains and a small salad. Not bad for $9. I've been told to go to the other Haitian restaurant - read more

Love this PLACE! Amazing prices (a meal which can feed 2, but 1 for me) is $7-$12. This place has phenomenal griot, fish, and grapefruit juice, but my favorite dish is the oxtail. It is so tender and the gravy that it comes in is to die for. We come here at least once a week. The griot is some of the best in town, however i prefer the pikliz sauce at Chef Creole. Either way, this place deserves its 5 stars. read more
