The flavors were really hittin--not salty but definitely not lacking in flavor and complexity. So delicious The only criticism I would have from what I ordered is that the rice was ever so slightly undercooked which made it a bit dry. Other than that, everything was great. There's not really a server--you order and they text you when it's ready. Then you come pick it up and go to your table. But the cashier lady was very nice and helped me decide what to get.

Great atmosphere and music, but the food and service were a major letdown…read more The atmosphere at Dukunoo is definitely the best part. The music was great, the vibe was lively, and they had the NFL season opener playing on multiple screens, which made for a fun environment. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once the food arrived. We ordered the Lik Yuh Fingas Oxtail, which came served in a small Dutch pot. The presentation was really nice, but unfortunately, that was probably the best part of the dish. The oxtail was mostly bones and fat, with very little actual meat. The rice and peas were cold and undercooked, which was especially disappointing. We also ordered the Yard Style Fried Chicken. I was expecting crispy, flavorful fried chicken, but it was the complete opposite. The chicken was soggy, not crispy at all, and basically tasteless. I ate one piece and did not even bother with the rest. The gravy was honestly the highlight of the entire meal. For appetizers, we ordered the Crispy Ackee Rolls and Pressed Plantain Bites. They were okay, but once again, both tasted like they had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. The service was another major issue. Our waitress took our order and then disappeared. She never came back to check on us, never asked if we needed anything, and did not even ask if we wanted water. At these prices, basic attentive service should be expected. And that is the biggest problem. The prices are outrageous for the quality of food being served. You are paying premium prices for what is ultimately pretty standard Jamaican food, and the execution just was not there. Dukunoo has a lot going for it. The music, atmosphere, decor, and overall vibe are great. But the food quality, freshness, service, and pricing need significant improvement. Right now, you are paying more for the atmosphere than the actual dining experience.

The meat was tender, flavorful, and had that rich gravy that really brings the whole dish together. The lunch portion was filling without being overwhelming, and everything tasted like classic Jamaican comfort food. The Diet Jupiña was cold and refreshing and paired nicely with the meal. I also got the sweet potato pudding for dessert, which had a nice texture and it was cold instead of hot, had that nice sweet potato flavor. Reminds me of pumpkin pie. It was a great way to finish everything. The staff was friendly, service was smooth, and the food came out fresh and hot. Really enjoyed the meal and definitely recommend Jamaican Kitchen. The vibe of the space feels like they brought in the murals of wynwood to their interior design. The music selection was rap hit after rap hit, loved. We sat at the bar. Our server was Marcus. He was so helpful and attentive. Gave us his menu recommendations, which we followed suit. We ordered the duck dumplings and the sweet potato croquettes from the HH menu. From the regular menu, we ordered the bbq toro and the oxtail udon. The duck dumplings had a rich au jus, great. Our favorite app was the sweet potato croquette. Slightly sweet, a satisfying crunch, but soft in the center with tender brisket. The white bbq sauce and parm gave it a nice smoky nuttiness. Ordered another round, they were so good! The bbq toro had an amazing smokey flavor and a nice citrusy butter as the sauce. The cut was perfect. The oxtail udon was really hearty, and by far the best dish we had (though all the dishes were seriously incredible). It comes with a cured egg yolk, which they mix for you tableside. There was a good amount of oxtail in the dish and the udon sauce - bottle it for me please and thank youuu.

Oh and the croquettes were good. I took back avocado toast let's say it was so tiny and bread burnt. The braised ribs not seasoned at all has no flavor none at all the has browns were store brought not home made. Another thing the waffles not homemade either look like eggo waffles. Every bite of the food here feels like a warm hug from home, and it has me wondering if Naomi has somehow bribed my mom to share her secret recipes. The plantains are so crispy you'd think they were fried in the Caribbean sunshine, and the griot is so tender that I briefly considered applying for citizenship in the land of Naomi's kitchen. The rice and beans? Let's just say I might have shed a tear of joy. And that garden--oh, the garden! It's like paradise decided to take up residence right behind Naomi's. Between the tropical plants and the soft, melodic tunes drifting through the air, it's impossible not to relax and let the flavors transport you back to the heart of Haiti. The collard greens had no seasoning at all and tasted like watered-down vegetables. The key lime pie was soggy and, on top of that, very small. Sad part is we've bought from here before the snapper meal at was super good about 4 yrs ago after that we bought the snapper again then it all went down hill from there I thought I'd give them a try again but I'm 100% sure never to order from here again.
