Legume
Mayako N.

My friend never had Haitian dishes. One of our friends recommended this place. So, we decided to try. This place is more for take out orders. There were always 2 to 3 people waiting to pick their orders. I ordered legume and my friend had beef with okura. We sat about 10 to 15 minutes for our food. It came with fresh djon djon rice. I could eat just this! My legume had a nice amount of meat and it was very tasty. My friend enjoyed her dish too. I have to take 1 star since they only take cash. But I will be back!

Rice and beans with fried meatballs and a side of fried plantains

I've been going to Au Bon Gout for quite sometime and the food is always good! Today, I ordered rice and beans (diri cole) and meatballs (boulet) it was amazing per usual. The only thing they can work in is their customer service, but other than that it's a really good place to eat whether it's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

If you ask me what the best cuisine is I'm going to say Haitian food!!! I know. I know. I'm biased but it's the truth. It's really hard to find Haitian cooking like your mama but if you're looking for delicious haitian food this is it. Now forewarning it is a Caribbean restaurant so there might be a little of a wait. Okay a long wait but once you bite into your food well worth it. My go to order is always diri Jon Jon [the infamous black mushroom rice] and boulettes [haitian meatballs]. The meatballs are a little on tbe spicy side but notbing a little water won't assist you with. The rice is always amazing that you have to get a second order. This restaurant is cash only so keep that in mind. All in all if you're looking for the best haitian food in Miami Au Bon Gout it is!

JouMou

I couldn't find soup joumou anywhere, so I searched 'Haitian food' on yelp & found this gem. The ladies behind the counter were super busy, but there still wasn't a long wait, & everyone was polite & upbeat. My soup joumou was amazing. It was thick & flavorful. It was loaded with vegetables, & the portions were huge. This is definitely a place to try for authentic Haitian food.

Red beans and rice. This is apparently a hidden treasure.

Their way of having customer service is calling the customer honey, sweetie, any terms of endearment.

Sitting down to have a nice meal with my family.

This was my 1st time coming here. Its a little hole in the wall. Those always seem to be the best spots. I enjoyed the food! I love a saucy type of food. I ordered the oxtail and it came in a red sauce with onions and carrots. It was gooood to me. My husband ordered the groit. He didn't like it as much (he's getting sick) but I thought it was flavorful and good with the piclez. I would go back next time in town.

When i tell you this is the best griot i HAVE EVER HADDDD!!! the portions are freakign huge!! deslish fresh and amazing!

The good here is really good. The place is a dive, which can be off-putting, but the food is worth it. I like the stewed turkey.

We got a section and my friend order food for the group. They order the jerk chicken and I got the oxtails. All the food was good. I ordered an old fashioned and it wasn't good at all. Great atmosphere and music, but the food and service were a major letdown…read more The atmosphere at Dukunoo is definitely the best part. The music was great, the vibe was lively, and they had the NFL season opener playing on multiple screens, which made for a fun environment. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once the food arrived. We ordered the Lik Yuh Fingas Oxtail, which came served in a small Dutch pot. The presentation was really nice, but unfortunately, that was probably the best part of the dish. The oxtail was mostly bones and fat, with very little actual meat. The rice and peas were cold and undercooked, which was especially disappointing. We also ordered the Yard Style Fried Chicken. I was expecting crispy, flavorful fried chicken, but it was the complete opposite. The chicken was soggy, not crispy at all, and basically tasteless. I ate one piece and did not even bother with the rest. The gravy was honestly the highlight of the entire meal. For appetizers, we ordered the Crispy Ackee Rolls and Pressed Plantain Bites. They were okay, but once again, both tasted like they had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. The service was another major issue. Our waitress took our order and then disappeared. She never came back to check on us, never asked if we needed anything, and did not even ask if we wanted water. At these prices, basic attentive service should be expected. And that is the biggest problem. The prices are outrageous for the quality of food being served. You are paying premium prices for what is ultimately pretty standard Jamaican food, and the execution just was not there. Dukunoo has a lot going for it. The music, atmosphere, decor, and overall vibe are great. But the food quality, freshness, service, and pricing need significant improvement. Right now, you are paying more for the atmosphere than the actual dining experience.

I attended this restaurant for a family memes birthday brunch. First thing is everything online…read moresays Shiso but receipt and this page states wynwood event center. Now the best thing was the music and that's how they reel you in. They play the songs that don't normally get played. However, the service is not great really sucks and the only thing worried about is refilling your mimosas glass. Btw I didn't have I had a glass of wine. The wine was good. Oh and the croquettes were good. I took back avocado toast let's say it was so tiny and bread burnt. The braised ribs not seasoned at all has no flavor none at all the has browns were store brought not home made. Another thing the waffles not homemade either look like eggo waffles. I'm being serious.

The vibe of the space feels like they brought in the murals of wynwood to their interior design. The music selection was rap hit after rap hit, loved. We sat at the bar. Our server was Marcus. He was so helpful and attentive. Gave us his menu recommendations, which we followed suit. We ordered the duck dumplings and the sweet potato croquettes from the HH menu. From the regular menu, we ordered the bbq toro and the oxtail udon. The duck dumplings had a rich au jus, great. Our favorite app was the sweet potato croquette. Slightly sweet, a satisfying crunch, but soft in the center with tender brisket. The white bbq sauce and parm gave it a nice smoky nuttiness. Ordered another round, they were so good! The bbq toro had an amazing smokey flavor and a nice citrusy butter as the sauce. The cut was perfect. The oxtail udon was really hearty, and by far the best dish we had (though all the dishes were seriously incredible). It comes with a cured egg yolk, which they mix for you tableside. There was a good amount of oxtail in the dish and the udon sauce - bottle it for me please and thank youuu.

The chicken was super flavorful with that real jerk char, very spice, rice and peas perfectly seasoned, and that spicy pikliz on top is a must -- cuts through everything. The baked macaroni gratin was cheesy and crispy on top, just how I like it. I got 2 plates and with Uber One savings + promo it came out to only $33.88 total -- amazing value for the portion size. Food was very unappealing. The chicken was just okay the thigh was burnt and dry…read more The sweet plantains were also burnt, dry, and extremely small. The collard greens had no seasoning at all and tasted like watered-down vegetables. The key lime pie was soggy and, on top of that, very small. Honestly, the only good thing about this dinner was the canned soda. Sad part is we've bought from here before the snapper meal at was super good about 4 yrs ago after that we bought the snapper again then it all went down hill from there I thought I'd give them a try again but I'm 100% sure never to order from here again. I had to throw the entire meal to the trash .Oh and the Mac and cheese is in the trash too. Either fire all the cooks or close this place down .

I went Sando and while ordering, I asked him if the Jamaican restaurant was open, and he said yes, and at that moment a tall slender man was standing in front. Once I finished at Sando, the man was gone. I went and called for someone to come out. The same gentleman came out and asked if I could wait as he was alone. I waited and when he was available, he came out and took my order. I ordered the oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage. FYI: If you order online, you can save 20%. While I waited for my food, I was going through my ClassPass app, and noticed that One Love Jamaica participated with ClassPass. I then placed an order for the honey salmon for my husband. The oxtail was good. I normally don't eat much rice and peas, but I ate that rice and enjoyed the melding of flavors from the oxtail stew and the cabbage. Overall, I thought both dishes tasted great. The restaurant is located inside the eatery that houses many other food places.
