We ordered the carne asada (nicely cooked and flavorful) and an order of three tostones with chicken and coleslaw on top. It was a big order and I took a lot home. The food was excellent and tasted very authentic. The service was ok. We had to go ask for the check. But, the restaurant is very small (seats 25)! And the way that it's set up, the waitress isn't going to see you unless she comes out to the dining room The kitchen, register, bathroom and bar are in the back. The waitress was nice though. Parking might be an issue. There are spots right in front on the street, but not a lot of them. Maybe try parking in the back. read more

My hubby and I were trying to figure out where to eat as we were on our way to Home Depot in NMB, he told me to look at this place's menu as he had been here for lunch before. From the outside, the place looks very unassuming and based on some of the reviews I saw, it seemed mixed. I haven't had pupusas in a long time and decided to give it a shot. We were so glad to come here, the service was excellent, the food was delicious and it was very cheap. We ended up taking food home because we didn't realize how big the plates were. This will definitely be in our rotation of restaurants we visit in a monthly basis. Highly recommend the stuffed plantains, it was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. I decided to patronize this restaurant believing I would have good typical Honduran food. It was a disappointment. the soup was the only hot food. The rest was cold. Small and cold tortillas. I ordered 3 pupusas to go. I saw my mother eating a black stuff. I asked her what was it. She said it was the pupusa I had brought her. It was burnt. Overpriced too, $65.00 total for that horrible mess. 18% gratuity included on bills over $50.00. In addition, a fee charge for credit card usage, no written notice anywhere. Service as expected. While the ladies that offer service are sweet, the food takes very long to come out. It's my honduran comfort food so I deal with it but if the restaurant is full you will be waiting awhile. Food wise pretty good. The baleadas come out someout oily from the tortilla which is odd. I was very disappointed with my experience with this restaurant. I showed up on a weekday morning on one of my walks to try this place out since the only other honduran restaurant I know is close to downtown. The front of the restaurant and the back bar area were such a contrast in appearance that it made me believe it was two different restaurants all together. The wait time I felt was atrocious. I waited 30 minutes to get 2 baleadas; there was only one family of four and one other patron. Now I understand that potentially there can be a lot of takeout orders, and also upon observation I saw there was only a single cook, but seeing that just made me feel that I'd hate so see how backed up they'd get from being crowded. Now getting to the food, I got a chicken baleada and a steak baleada. The steak one was ok and if that was all I got maybe I would have done 3 stars, but the reason I am giving it 2 stars is because of the chicken. Eating it it felt like there was no flavor at all, and the worst part was that the texture almost felt rubbery. I really hope they improve because I would like to have a honduran restaurant closer to home that I can enjoy dining at. read more

Taste and portion was ok. I've had better. What I didn't like was that I made an order for pick-up and I was told the total was around $42. I gave the girl my card and she charged me and said I was good to go. She didn't give me my receipt so I asked for it and when I checked it I saw she inserted an 18% tip and I was charged a random "additional fee" for almost $2.00. Mind you I ordered for pick up, gratuity should only be included when you actually get a table and have a server. However, I was in a rush and had to get back to work plus I always give a tip so I didn't REALLY mind but again she told me it was $42 so she chose the tip when she inserted my card and I think that is very unprofessional the least she could've told me was that a tip was included. I was really surprised at how nice this restaurant looks on the inside. The food was amazing!!! Love how they serve the juices and everything with so much love. The carne asada was out of this world and it had so much flavor to it. They have two seating areas, one is like a bar type and the other area is more for casual dining. The service is awesome...our server was so nice and kept checking on us to see if we needed anything. They have a little bell at the table that you can ring just incase you need anything.
