While not as popular as Bauer skates, seems like there's always one guy on the team that wears it, and swears by it. My review is just based on the goalie skates, and can say these are one of the lightest I've ever tried. Though it is a bit concerning, as the cowling, where the boot rests for protection, does seem a bit too plastic-y for my liking as I've always been a Bauer guy (gotta support Canadian, right). Prices have considerably dropped, compared to before; they're still in the upper tier pricing but if you know where to shop online, these can be had for $350, almost half the price from retail! The bonus star too is for their replacement blades! So even after a few years of harsh playing, you don't need to break into a new skate/boot, just buy a new blade.

I spent the better part of my trip to this mall looking for a pair of sexy boots. Unfortunately, this Aldo was no help to my quest. They had an EXTREMELY limited selection of boots in store. And just to be clear, I wasn't looking for WINTER boots, just fashion boots, so they SHOULD have had ample selection. I also didn't love the fact that I walked in, looked around, and walked out without so much as a single acknowledgement from the staff. BOOOOOOO! Overall, not a good experience. No shoes, no service, no stars.

Here is what he has to say about the place: I took my AST1 with splitboard HQ last year. It was extremely well taught and Simon kept it interesting and fun. I've had parts break on my bindings and the guys there have been super prompt in helping me out as I live in Edmonton. They have kayaking activities in the summer but I don't know much about that. All in all the their customer support is a 10/10 , their knowledge on the back country, tools, tips and tricks is a 10/10. If you are interested in adventure, I highly recommend taking a AST1 course, or see what they're kayaking side of things has to offer. You won't be disappointed!!

Coming here was a regretful experience. Staff stoped us at the front entrance and asked what we…read morewere doing here and upon learning we were looking to purchase skis, we were then allowed to set foot inside. We tried to ask some questions regarding the skis available, what to look for, sizing, etc, as we were beginners. Staff literally told us that we should be shopping at Sport Chek instead and left us alone. I believe they took one look at my wife and I decided we were not worth their time. Funny thing is friends recommended this store as they purchased from here as beginners and had received good customer service but we were not afforded the same treatment. Avoid this entitled and snobby shop at all cost and save yourself the humiliation. Edit: We went to Sport Chek, great customer service but inventory was low. Proceeded to go to Sporting Life and we got fully kitted for our next ski trip. Too bad, this was a sure sale for SkiWest. The level of service we received were miles different between them and others.

911 Police Supply is one of those unique stores that there is rarely ever any real competition…read more The reason why? The specific market it caters to is very unique, primarily first responders. Owned and operated by 2 police officers, they are extremely well stocked in uniforms, footwear, tools and the like used by EMS/Fire/Police/Security and so on, complete with restrictions on a good deal of the merchandise (requiring a licence to obtain such as body armor). In addition, they carry a fair amount of items for the general security crowd such as metal detectors and so on, plus a great selection of high end utility knives. The only real issue about this store is simply that they are quite pricey. Some markups are notably in the 300-500% range as compared to other stores, and I mean bricks and mortar stores, not online. As another Yelper mentioned, there really isn't any competition whatsoever, with MD Charlton in Vancouver being the closest equiviant as Spy City tends to specialize more for security staff and Seal Action Gear more torwards the military crowd. Still, for gun enthusiasts especially, this is a great place to check and feel the different holsters and accessories for their handguns, and a neat place for themed clothing gifts as well. #16 of Yelp's 30 Day Review Challenge

When I returned two days later to exchange one unopened package he remembered me and our conversation. For good customer service, I assumed I would get a discount on the second pair for the error, but though he remembered the exchange he stated, "I remember what I remember and you remember what you remember." This was not a large purchase, but to have a customer leave without compensating a staff error says a great deal. I will never be back and will make sure to warn anyone considering a purchase here, large or small. You're better off buying online.
