I purchased a Henry golden boy .22 LR (display model) just ran multiple rounds through it and the lever action consistently jams the cartridges so you have to push them down with your finger to line them up. Even had a couple that broke and I had to pick them out. I've tried calling the store three times and they NEVER pick up the phone. I've had this same problem multiple times. I dont know what is going on over there but they need to start picking up the phone. Disappointed. Update: after getting ahold of them they told me there is nothing they can do to help have it repaired or sent to manufacturer for warranty service. Thanks for nothing! read more

They lost a customer and I gladly went to shooting center and purchased goods there, good bye cabs you'll never see me at your front step. Anyway went in to buy a handgun, they said they can't sell it coz I need range membership, called rcmp they said no such law exists and I can aquire no probs, told cabs that but they argued like 5 year old child so I took my business elsewhere, to shooting center on macleod respectively I bough cz p10f no hassle and just happened to be 100 dollars less than cabs. Disappointed with Cabela's amateurs and their customer service is terrible at best and definitely don't give a dime about customer, mislead customers left and right, wonder how much money the company lost because of the incompetency behind the counter *scratch scratch* read more

This Cabelas is the only one in the city. It is a huge store that is always very well kept and tidy. Although I live on the opposite end of the city from where cabelas is I always find myself there because they always have awesome sales. Nonetheless, when I went this last weekend they were having a promotion for the Bradley smoker and they were promoting it by smoking delicious food in there such as chicken breasts with goat cheese and asparagus and wrapped in bacon. It was so delicious and definitely made me want to get a smoker to make that :) read more

Went to Cabela's and had all my purchases opened and the insides of the purchased products checked to ensure "all the material was inside". What was upsetting is that the couple in from of me had nothing opened and checked. Even though they had purchased an exact product like I had. They were Caucasian and I was a visible minority. Friendly staff and great sale prices! My friend and I stopped by Cabela's before heading on a hiking/backpacking trip through the National Parks. We needed to purchase bear spray, stove fuel, and some extra backpacking meals. However, we ended up spending about an hour in the store looking through their sales items! All the backpacking meals were cheaper than the US (even before converting to American dollars)! My friend bought about 6 extra packs of food to take back home. Then, he continued to go on a shopping spree of outdoor clothing/accessories in the sale sections. Overall, great prices (at least compared to the US). When we checked out, the cashier was very soft-spoken and friendly. He politely directed us to the Customer Service desk to purchase our bear spray, where 2 other employees gave us tips on how many cans to purchase (only 1 for a group of 3 - saved us lots of money), and provided a quick tutorial on how to use and dispose bear spray. Overall, they set a very good first-impression of Canadians for me. If you need to purchase any outdoor gear, Cabela's is the place! There might be items that are cheaper elsewhere, but the sales items definitely won't disappoint. read more

A good store for all sorts of outdoor stuff; fishing, hunting, hiking, camping...you name it! They have a really good selection regarding fishing and hunting equipment. It's well organized and tidy, staff was always available, friendly and helpful. AND there is a tiny fudge store inside. They have good and interesting flavors, ask for a sample, they happily let you try it. I enjoyed shopping there and even bought boots and a jacked although I wasn't really looking for something. But they just had really good deals available. read more

I needed some ammo so I checked online that they had stock because other stores were out. The website said they had plenty in store for the caliber I needed. So drove 45 min there and couldn't find so I asked at the gun counter and they said sorry we are out. I told him the website says you have stock? He said ya that just means it is on the truck so it should be here in a day or two. He didn't care that I had driven 45 min and didn't care the website was wrong. I don't recommend supporting a business that lies and doesn't care about each and every customer. Support the smaller ones that actually have things in stock and go the extra mile. read more

Went in and Bought a 22lr mossberg T15 went to the shooting range few days later to try it out gun worked fine but I noticed it was missing the railing at the top to mount the red dot scope on the top of the gun I.e you need this part to mount any kind of site on the gun went back an said it to one of the guys there he went back to see if he can find it come back out after 15min and said he can't find it that there was noting he can do.. did not offer any refund or noting.. now i can't find the part that comes whit it online or in any gun store so I'm unable to put a scope on it, first and last time I ever buy anything in Cabela's ever again, just buy online no B.S and you get what you pay for, read more

It's a big store it has lots of variety of sporting and camping goods. But it didn't have the camping air mattresses we were looking for they did look it up to see if other stores had it but we found it cheaper at Canadian tire! Since I'm on a budget I have to go where the sale prices are and I just find other stores have better deals but I love the interior and atmosphere of the store it is a bit of a drive to get to I live on the northeast but please check it out for yourself! read more

I drove for 30 mins and when i got on the gun counter, this old guy with white hair and looks grumpy was on the counter. I ask him if you guys have a winchester primer and i haven't finish my question yet and automatically blocks my question and says we don't have it. So I thought they are out but the website says they have stock. So I went home and decided to call the store to make sure. When I called them and they ask the C number of the primer they said they have lots. The old bugger was just lazy to help customers. I just drove 30 mins for nothing. read more

Cabela's is what I'd call Bass Pro Shops light; it has all the great things that Bass Pro has minus the boats and aquarium. I also find that you don't have to spend half a day to find something. The prices are a bit on the high side for some things but I found that overall they are a better place to shop than their bigger competition just 15 minutes north of them. Everyone at the store was attentive and asked if I needed some help. The cashier was quite friendly as well. I found they have a better camping section than Bass Pro and their camping accessories, dried food, bags, etc. have a wider variety. Stop at Cabela's first and avoid the tourists that want to see fish swim in an aquarium. read more

Nice store, but failing to honour warranties is a big problem in my eyes. Bought a shotgun. A box of shells and a few days later the targeting bead fell off the gun. You'd think that was a manufacturing issue right? Warrantied, right? Called Cabelas, they gave me a run-around by telling me to call a service centre in Ontario. Called that centre, the gun tech there said Cabelas was trying to avoid honouring their 30 day warranty. Nah, that couldn't be true, I thought. So I brought the gun in and was told "Sorry, there is nothing we can do, this was a maintenance issue." What? A part falls off a brand new gun and it's a maintenance problem? Here's what they offered to do. They handed me a bead that was the wrong size for the gun. (???) Then gave me recommendations for glue. I'm serious. No offer of exchange, or offer to get the right part in, nothing. Here's the wrong part, try to fix it yourself. Hey Cabelas, you could have called your sister store down the road (Bass Pro) and asked them if they had the part, or another sight (they did). But you didn't, you just sent me on my way to find the part myself. You've lost my business. read more
