Even though the stargazing conditions were somewhat at risk, they turned out great! The conversations was amazing for all of the group and Claude and Stacey's knowledge and explanations were top notch. I will be recommending to friends, family and clients.

You can find them in the Barrier Lake parking lot starting at 10am until 6pm every day renting out canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards. Getting there early is a must. All items are rented on a first-come, first-served basis. We got there at 9:30am on a Tuesday morning and there were already two groups ahead of us in line. The rental fee for a canoe also includes paddles and lifejackets. Everything is cleaned between customers and the boat was in good repair. My only complaint in regards to safety was ironically with the safety discussion. The staff member decided to give a group talk rather than one-by-one which was fine but she encouraged us all to group up close. There were more than 20 people present and some of them were not respectful of social distancing. I ended up having to move a fair distance away to feel safe.

Such a gem for outdoor enthusiasts. They took the time to properly fit my young teen for a climbing…read moreharness and shoes. They were very patient in answering our questions and recommended how to maintain and care for the new equipment. When there was some harness fraying a couple of months later, they didn't hesitate to fix the problem. Not only did I receive excellent customer service, but I could see other customers being treated the same way. This isn't a place to go if you are looking for the cheapest equipment on the market. This is where you go if you want to speak with people who know what they are selling, will take the time to answer your questions, and will stand behind their products. They are relocating next door to a larger space and are still open while relocating. I will for sure be visiting again soon.

People in the store are ANGRY, like really pissed off that we and other customers are there. Treating everyone like crap for wanting to BUY their product. One guy snaps at ever person who enters the door. Openly complaining about how busy it is and giving every excuse in the book to treat people poorly. Yes you are busy, but people want to purchase from you and make you money dude! The least you can do is be kind and considerate. If you want to be treated poorly, go there and try to ask a question or two, you'll be shut down like the back gate. I'll find somewhere else to purchase my outdoor equipment in the future, buy local my ass.

To my amazement the store was huge and the store had way more than I expected. Anything you need in outdoor gear and clothing this is the place to shop. Great Christmas items here. Lots of free parking. Be it gloves, head gear, scarves, jackets, backpacks, outdoor wear, boots, shoes, etc they got it all for boys and girls of all ages. The staff was so amazingly knowledgeable and helpful. I would have made serious mistakes in sizing and choice of colour if it wasn't for their attention to detail. My daughter loved what I picked out thanks to the amazing staff member who assisted me. All of them from the owner to staff have a great sense of humour and made my shopping experience not only fun but got the right choice the first go around. Here is a small business we as Calgarians and Albertans should support. Lots of cute stocking stuffer items too. Drop in and look around you won't be disappointed. This I am very sure of. Thanks Great Outdoors for making my shopping experience so memorable. Here is few extra starsyou deserve it .

I have shopped at the Great Outdoors for several years now. I cannot believe the selection of kids…read moreoutdoor gear. The place is massive. All the big brands are there, for kids like mine who truly play in the outdoors...hiking, camping in the mountains etc. There is no other place to compare to it without ordering from the U.S. I have particularly liked the Columbia, North Face and Merrell Lines. My son is actually on his third year with his Columbia Shorts and they have held up amazingly well. I grudginly had to make him stop wearing them as they are now too tight and no pre-teen boy should wear shorts that fitted! Since my one child outgrew their sizes, I have shopped there less often until recently when I started picking out items for my nephews and nieces too. It is a little far away from me, but worth the trip. While the brands they carry are a little more expensive than your regular box store brands they are worth it as they are technical gear and hold up better under most conditions. They have racks of sale items and other sales periodically, so they are worth watching out for.

I've never been to this course, but when we pulled into the parking lot, we were greeted with about 20-30 parking spots reserved for "President", "Administrator", "Accountant", "Janitor", etc. Come on. Ridiculous. What happened to putting the customer first? It just smacks of a company that doesn't care about customers. They're only concerned about making sure that the admin assistant has a good parking spot. This may be a small detail, but set us off on the wrong foot. Then we went to the pro shop, and there was nobody behind the counter - seemingly nobody working there, We waited for at least 7 minutes until someone showed up. The guy was not too helpful with us, and he frankly didn't seem interested in helping us. Needless to say, we weren't able to get a decent tee time, and we opted to go to a different local course. So, I still have no idea what the course is like - all I know is they don't seem concerned about pleasing customers.
