And just to be clear, I wasn't looking for WINTER boots, just fashion boots, so they SHOULD have had ample selection. I also didn't love the fact that I walked in, looked around, and walked out without so much as a single acknowledgement from the staff. BOOOOOOO! Overall, not a good experience. Right by the door they had a bunch of runners 50% off, one just happened to be a pair that I had tried on at another store, in my size! So I grabbed those immediately. The man working came over and asked if I needed help. I told him what I was looking for and what kind of activities I needed my shoes for. He actually recommended looking into a court shoe, which they don't carry, so he suggested a couple stores to check out. I thanked him and said I was still going to try on the shoes I had picked up, since they were such a great deal! So I walked to the back and tried them on. He checked my big toe and asked how they felt. I already knew I liked them. I asked him what the difference was between those ones and the newer model. He said they only difference was that the new model was economically friendly, they would break down quicker. I asked about their running clinics. They have just started offering beginner clinics, for 8 weeks at $90. There are also marathon clinics for 18 weeks costing $160. This place carries a great variety of footwear, not just the usual brands. There is a very decent selection of clothing and running accessories. They have some exercise stuff too, including my highly recommended foam rollers for only $35! That is the cheapest I know about! When I went to pay for my shoes, I realized I had forgotten my wallet! He offered to hold them for me and even made a note that they were on sale, just in case he wasn't the one working when I came to get them. I ran and got my wallet and came back right away. Strides is a great place to go for any of your running needs! Their prices are competitive and their service excellent!

I've had parts break on my bindings and the guys there have been super prompt in helping me out as I live in Edmonton. They have kayaking activities in the summer but I don't know much about that. All in all the their customer support is a 10/10 , their knowledge on the back country, tools, tips and tricks is a 10/10. If you are interested in adventure, I highly recommend taking a AST1 course, or see what they're kayaking side of things has to offer. You won't be disappointed!!

Funny thing is friends recommended this store as they purchased from here as beginners and had received good customer service but we were not afforded the same treatment. Proceeded to go to Sporting Life and we got fully kitted for our next ski trip. Too bad, this was a sure sale for SkiWest. Imagine my excitement when I learned that there is a Goodfoot store on 17th Ave!!! If I had been a gymnastics baby, you woulda seen AT LEAST a triple hand-spring. If you've never been to Goodfoot, the best way for me to explain it is as a funky, urban sneaker boutique. They specialize in hard-to-find and limited edition sneakers (Nike, Adidas, etc etc.) and it's ULTRA chic. The staff knows their sneakers and they are extremely helpful in narrowing in on which sneakers you've just GOT to have for the season. They carry sneakers that you will NEVER see in any other store in town and if Goodfoot doesn't have it, then it's cause it's not available in Calgary.
