I haven't been here in a while because the last time I visited (over 1 year ago), it was not the best experience. When I walked in with my mother last night, for a quick bite to eat, I was IMPRESSED! Complete 180 in all the BEST ways. The place was immaculate, it was busy, and we were seated and taken care of immediately. The food came out fast, fresh, and HOT (not lukewarm because it was sitting under a heat lamp). But the star of the show last night was our server Adrian. My mother and I were raving about him. He came over to our table right away (even though his section was packed), came over numerous times to see how we were, how our food was, and if we needed anything else, and it was an overall great experience! I recently dined at Chevy's Fresh Mex, and I was absolutely blown away by the ribs--they're to die for! Slowly roasted and seasoned to perfection, each bite was a delicious explosion of flavor. I have never had a bad visit to Chevy's. Their booths are always comfortable and, if you decide to eat by the bar, you'll have multiple televisions, in order to watch that day's popular sporting event(s). Since I'm so addicted to their AMAZING salsa, I had to ask our awesome Server, Israel, to give us A LOT more. He generously brought back a much appreciated salsa container, almost the size of my hand! My Piña Colada was very good, creamy, and served in a tall glass. Every entree was VERY GOOD (Quesadilla Burger, Surf & Turf, and Chicken Tacos). All had fresh ingredients and all were throughly enjoyed. I met a woman that told me her son, Brett worked at Chevy's and to go visit him ask and ask for Brett and tell him that his mama sent him. About a week or so later I went there I asked for Brett and they told me he was working, and I asked to be seated by him. I explained to him that his mama sent me and he had a huge smile in his face. His service was suburb. Very nice and he suggested several types of mock tails and cocktails. I ordered the deep fried ice cream. That I had two years ago and was craving it. However, they brought it back. They told me it was taken off their menu so therefore it was a little different because I tasted the difference immediately, they now put oats in it, which they didn't previously, and the presentation was not as nice as 2/3 years ago. See pictures. However it still was good. I just prefer the one from several years ago. I also met the bus boy. His name was Michael. He was a very sweet, respectful young man. I told the manager how great they both were and he thanked me. I would definitely recommend this place and if you could ask for Brett, he will give you good service. The ambiance is nice and what I had was good. I had the dessert, margarita which was delicious, chips, guacamole, and salsa sauce, as I wasn't very hungry cause I had gone out to lunch previously. I recommend this place as it's a fun place. The food is good, ambience is good and so is the service. The only thing they need to fix is the dessert. All I wanted was chicken tortilla soup and the only place I could find open that had it available was here. $7.50 for an extremely small cup, they must serve more if you're dining in. AND not even filled up all the way. So disappointed. Also the description said avocado, and there was none. Not to mention the dirty cup that's damaged. I have been to Chevy's many times and really enjoyed the food and service. Tonight was a different story. The service left a lot to be desired. The server did not write anything down- which would have been admirable had he remembered anything. We had to wait awhile to give our drink order and waited even longer to get them. We had to repeatedly ask for things. At one point he said that he didn't forget to bring the salsa, he was too busy! We waited for our food and I was not impressed with my quesadilla. It was hardly filled and the two end pieces had nothing inside. Because it has always been very good, I will give it another try and hopefully it will be back to being a place I like. read more

Ok folks this will be quick my family and I started out going somewhere else but I drove thru the plaza to take a short cut and said to the wife " you feel like eating here?" And she said why not. To start we were sat down immediately which was nice, or our waitress came quick and fast. She was polite and very calm cool and respectful. We are a family of 5 with children of many ages lol ( she did a great job being patient and helping with the kids because they kept dropping there blankets) We ordered the kids food and 3 appetizers along with our drinks. Everything came out fast and drinks hit the spot. We ordered the sampler, wings and a soup. The restaurant was clean and smelled good. Now enters the problem ............. When we went to order our entrees I asked for the salad to go with grilled chicken on the side and a piece of fish on the side as well. The waitress went to out that order in, a few moments later she came back and said " the manager said we don't do that, you have to buy the whole meal with fish" I then said I am not doing that why not just charge me for a piece of fish I'm willing to pay for it. She insisted that he won't allow her to do it. I explained to her ( I'm a diabetic and I'm only allowed to eat certain things as to in trying to avoid going into a diabetic spike") she said yeah he won't let me do it so I told her, I have to eat elsewhere then. As I know it's not her fault, but this can't be the way they operate ( so you can't get extras that you want to pay for, or get your order as you wish) this can't be there corporate system. I was very disappointed and just told my family I can't eat here and I'll just pay the bill and leave. My bill came it was $180 and I left her a 20% tip because it wasn't her fault and plus the bus boy was amazing as well he came and cleaned up quickly, and spoke with us and interacted with my children. Which is so rare in today's day and time. Folks you never know who people are and I am a former restaurant manager with over 20 years experience. I worked my way from employee all the way to Owner Operating General Manager. And if any of my staff would ever tell a Guest " No" we would have issues. Folks forget the simple things when operating even in today's day and age. Golden rule give the Guest What They Want! Especially when they even they have a health issue it's about keeping the guest! Keeping them coming back ( because I'm now never going to eat at a chevys again, because I know I can't pay for fish by itself or extra chicken) so would I recommend this place I'm not sure it would really depend on my day of the week. I will explain for them my experience and let them make their own decision but would I grade this a top notch establishment........ no due to management not knowing hey it's ok to miss a piece of fish ring it under something else. Tell the staff to Make what the guest wants, have the waitress go to the guest and tell them it's a $10 charge for the fish. Do what it takes to satisfy the guest! If it wasn't for the fact that I grew tired of the buisness I would definitely apply here just to help change this restaurant especially the management. read more

We went on a Wednesday evening to grab margaritas and some food. After Jose Tejas killed their menu during COVID, we decided to give this place a go. We were seated immediately on the patio and given salsa and chips as we decided on our food. The salsa itself is a reason to go. It was the best restaurant salsa I have had in a long time. Choosing the outside was the perfect choice, it was intimate and a bit quieter than the inside. When we walked in, we saw a board that advertised a tequila flight. Originally, we came in to try their margaritas but decided to try the Patron instead--our last-minute switch did not disappoint. The flight is not on the drinks or specials menu, so you might want to inquire if interested. I will say I wish the drinks were a bit stronger. For starters, we ordered the Fresh Mex Sampler to get a feel for what we would expect for food. The wings, nachos, flautas, and quesadillas were all solid. That was a good start. For entrees, we ordered the Surf N Turf combo and the Flamed Mixed Grill Fajitas. We did specify we wanted the steak medium rare but came out well done. To our surprise, the steak was so tender, the cook(s) definitely knew what they were doing. Everything tasted fresh and was very good. My only gripe was the pesto-habanero cream sauce that was on the crab and shrimp enchilada had no kick whatsoever. It just tasted like green cream. Not the best. Overall, everything was fine. Our waiter was great as well, despite him being spread thin. When we are craving Tex-Mex, we will consider Chevys again in the future. read more

5/19/23: We sat at the bar for a quick drink and appetizers before the Yogi Berra documentary movie "It Ain't Over". (BTW, Great movie!) The bartender greeted us. We were given free chips and salsa which was good but lacked flavor. I got the create your own platter with a salsa chicken taco, picadillo taco, and chicken flautas. It came with rice and bean. My friend got the sampler. Our food came out fairly quick. I enjoyed mines although tge rice and beans were luke warm. The flautas wasnt crispy either. Place was DEAD which should have been enough of a red flag for us to leave but my husband and I had been to this location in the past and liked the food. Hadn't been back there in several years. We were seated near the bar. The place was empty so each server only had 2-3 tables a piece. Food was fine; but the service was awful. Despite the place being totally empty the bus boy removed our plates while we were clearly still eating. He took my husbands plate from in front of him and then literally stared at me until I let him take mine too. Then the server gave us the bill and within 2 minutes started wiping down the table literally in front of us; before we had even stood up. The entire vibe from the moment we sat down was "get out as quick as possible." So rude and so WEIRD. I won't return. Not a very welcoming vibe at all. read more

There has been a long time in between since my last visit, so it could very well those visits longer ago were my pre-Yelp days. Is it the best Mexican in the world? Not at all. Is it a pretty solid and consistent experience, yes. The margaritas are great and on this recent visit I had the Street Tacos - CARNE ASADA - Soy citrus grilled steak, poblano, avocado, chipotle aioli, corn tortillas. That with a margarita and a shared NACHOS GRANDE - A heaping platter of chips topped with chicken, melted cheese, black beans, red sauce, fresh guacamole, sour cream and roasted corn salsa, made for a very good dinner stop. read more

Chevy's has a decent vibe-it's family friendly and has a bar if you're looking to grab a drink with friends. We came on a Saturday night so it was pretty busy but we're seated right away. We started with the yuca fries and of course the complimentary chips and salsa. Yuca fries were delicious, definitely try them. For enterré I ordered the 2 protein fajita: 1/2 carnitas and 1/2 fresh vegetables both were flavorful! I subbed the flour tortillas for corn but as soon as the last one cooled down it wasn't too tasty. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal. 8/12/25 at 10:45pm. Very rude and unprofessional customer service. I ordered chips and dips on Uber eats waited 30 minutes for my delivery order and they sent no chips. OMLY the dip. What am I supposed to do with dip only. They don't even sell dip only as a choice it's automatically given with chips so common sense should've automatically told them to put the chips with the dip. This location can get very busy because of the movie theater near by and the apple b's next door. The location is decorated in the same way as all the other Chevy restaurants so it's nothing special. The service was good but somewhat slow considering the off hour time I went. The food was nothing special and two of the people I went with had to send their food back for multiple reasons. If you don't expect much you will get exactly what you expect. I would suggest Applebees if you're in the area. The southwest menu is not the best and prices are expensive for what you get. The restrooms need a complete overhaul and were very dirty. read more

I came here for a quick bite last week after seeing a movie. It was Taco Tuesday, so the tacos were discounted. I sat at the bar since I was by myself. The bartender immediately took my drink order and food order. He was very nice and my food came out pretty quickly. As my drink, i got the chevys classic. It wasn't watered down like some cocktails at chain restaurants are. You could taste the tequila, but it wasn't overpowering. The tacos were tasty, but i preferred the carnitas tacos over the shrimp taco. The music was pretty good as well. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant which is a plus. I wish I can give - stars. This location is hideous. The staff is completely incompetent. Management has no management skills and the chefs couldn't work at Burger King. I received the wrong order 3 times and when it was finally corrected it was inedible and cold not warmed but actually cold. The drinks gave such a horrible taste and the place is filthy. My boyfriend and I came last week for taco Tuesday, we were thoroughly disappointed. The only saving grace was the staff, who you could tell were really just trying their best. It's not a service issue here it's a quality problem. The kitchen is just not putting out good food. I know it's a chain and what do I expect? I've had good food in the past here but it's quickly gone downhill. It was also EMPTY for a Tuesday night. Usually there would be a wait for a table on taco Tuesdays. Everything was just bad, dry and flavorless. I got the chicken tacos street style and they were almost sour. Our nachos were soggy and cold. My boyfriend was not happy with his dish either. The shrimp and crab enchiladas were good, the chimichanga was decent though a bit heavy on the onion for my taste, and the sampler platter was really good. I have sat in the bar area each time, and one bartender in particular is fantastic while a couple of others were relatively disinterested in doing much. With this being said do not come here under any circumstance. Me and my boyfriend came here on our last resort. 1030 Applebee's had an hour wait so we had to come here, my first and last time. Food: popcorn shrimp for appetizers As pictured it does not look appetizing at all. Popcorn shrimp in my air fryer would be better then this. It tastes really weird I had a couple pieces. Chicken quesadilla tasted like cardboard and shrimp tasted like nothing but cheap cheese. Absolutely disgusting. In conclusion this was a total waste of money and time. I don't know what happened to this restaurant but it has gone downhill!! I ordered the guacamole and they used to prepare it in front of you with fresh avocado and limes. Today they brought me an un appetizing lump of brownish green slop with no real flavor. I ordered their holiday drink called the winter Paloma which comes with tequila a dried orange slice and pomegranate seeds. Mine was missing the pomegranate seeds. PROS: The food tasted good and the menu was plentiful. The prices were where they should have been and the food came out with good timing. The were not understaffed like many other places.
