This review is specifically for Pump 4, THE SLOWEST gas pump I've EVER used. There was a Ford Escape that pulled up behind me a little bit after I had already started. They left before mine was at 8 gallons. So I thought... maybe I'm just in a hurry and feeeeeeel like this pump is slow. So I walked back to theirs and saw that they had just pumped 14+ gallons. So I decided to not wait to hear from corporate (like that would ever happen?) and, recently, decided to just wing it and gas up here again. Suffice it to say, I've decided to re-upgrade them back up to four stars. I had no problems with gassing up by paying with cash on my most recent visit, and I was able to get my change back with no hassles after the tank was full. I think the two incidences I had from before with them having a difficult time figuring out how to get my change back were just anomalies. I like this gas station for multiple reasons: + Reasonably priced for what's in the area. + They're one of the only Chevrons I've seen that charges cheaper prices for cash instead of charging the same for both cash and credit card. Whenever I gas up, I like to pay in cash at gas stations like this, because I get more bang for my buck. + The 7-Eleven and all the pumps here are both open 24 hours. + Very big, clean, up-to-date gas station -- the owners of this gas station have always kept the premises in decent condition around the gas pumps and inside the 7-Eleven. For a while, years back, the plot of land that this gas station sits on was an Exxon gas station that had closed and had been left fenced-off and vacant. It's always great when something that's derelict gets torn down and replaced with something much better. I can't comment on the car wash, as I've never come here to get my car washed. My car has a lot of white specs due to chipped paint and the windshield has a lot of small cracks throughout. Mind you my vehicle was just bought and didnt have those problems before the car wash. THIS REVIEW IS FOR THEIR CAR WASH SERVICE Their car wash service is unacceptable. I went there for a Car wash today. They have half price special on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I asked what all does the price cover? I was told wash and polish outside and vacuum and wiping inside. Total rip off. They didn't even vacuum the floor. No wiping/cleaning inside and the outside barely looks cleaned. I have attached photos for proof. I asked the cleaning people why isn't the inside cleaned at all and which service do I have to purchase to get a better cleaning (a normal car wash), they said this is the only service they have now. Pricing seems to be slightly more than gas stations in the area, especially if you opt out of a car wash... Great service and good value and quality car wash. I used to go to the Chevron car wash on S. De Anza, but this is more efficient only 20-25 minutes instead of 30 minutes plus. They thoroughly clean the outside and inside of your car. Half price car washes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The ultimate is $12.99 (regular price $25.99). Their air pump is broken, they are aware of it, yet they do not label it broken or turn if off. I made three unsuccessful attempts to use the machine, I then checked in with the staff on duty and he said the machine is broken. I came here to get my car washed and the service was horrible. The windows were streaked and dirtier than when I arrived. When asked to clean the windows they said this was the best they could do since they did not have dry towels. I was pissed that I had to clean them myself. Yes, I was angry and I let them know this. Upon my return visit three weeks later, the "manager" wanted me to refuse me a car wash. He passively threatened to fight me and he was angry with me. I stopped by earlier this morning. While there, I squeegeed the back window of my car (I was parked at pump #9). There was an oily/filmy substance in the water bin that is now all over my window. I tried to tell the gentleman at the register and some of the car wash employees, but no one had any interest in understanding what the problem was or changing the water in that bin so that this didn't happen to anyone else. Purchased a car wash at the pump a few weeks ago, after the car wash was already closed. About 10 minutes after giving them the receipt, and them taking my car, someone comes and tells me that the receipt is expired and I need to buy a new one. It was resolved after waiting in line inside, and speaking with the cashier, however then I realize that my car had not been washed yet. So I got to wait another half hour for my car to go through the wash. A few things... 1) There was no signage or text on the receipt that identified there was a 7 day expiration date on the pre-paid car wash I bought (although if you buy inside at the counter, the receipt did mention this). 2) In California, it is illegal to expire the value of a pre-paid item. This is why gift card values don't expire, and the purchase value of Groupons don't expire. 3) While waiting, I used the bathroom and found it filthy, with urine all over the outside of the toilet and the seat, and chunks of feces caked into a toilet brush sitting in a slurpee cup sitting next to the toilet (so even if they did clean that toilet seat, it would be totally contaminated). 4) When they came to find me to tel me the receipt had expired, they were very rude and accusatory. With that said, the younger man who had my car ready was polite and pleasant to deal with. In general, I'd recommend saving yourself the headache and going across the street to Lozano's. read more

This review is for the car wash services. This chevron location is conveniently located on the corner of El Camino and Mary. They are generally always running on a 20-25 minute wait but they have a nice seating area outside. They have several washes to choose from ranging from a basic outside wash to the more complex washes (inside, outside, wax, wheel shine, etc. etc.). I usually go for the middle one which is around $16 (though apparently all car washes are 1/2 off on Tuesdays and Thursdays!). You also get a 10cent discount per gallon of gas. Although it's hand dry, they wash it through a standard car wash machine. They do an okay job here, not the best I've had and not the worst. There's generally a few missed spots. Bottom line, it seems like a good deal if you go on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, otherwise I'd probably just opt for a self wash like the one down the street at the Shell gas station. read more

Had a VERY BAD experience with their car wash. Went there on Saturday 2pm for a car wash. When I got close to the queue, they had some problem with the machine and asked me to wait. I had to wait for more than an hour to get my car back. (I could have washed the car myself by that time). By this time, I asked the owner why its taking so long. He told some issue with machine and just walked away. After 1hr 15min wait, they got my car ready. This review is for the car wash. The workers here were very personable but as far as quality their work is not that great. I should have known not to expect too much from a gas station car wash but a friend recommended this place and my usual spot was closed so I tried them out. I opted for their higher priced wash at $17.99. The lady at the register was very nice and plugged in a coupon for $3 off without me even asking. The two guys at the start of the wash we're pretty nice too. That's why I gave the extra star. In terms of quality of work it was pretty bad, I guess you get what you pay for. My car was already pretty clean, I had a long freeway ride from the day before and had some dead bugs on the front bumper, a little dust / dirt here and there, nothing major. At the end of the wash I felt my car was cleaner in some ways before I got there. My rims had some weird brownish residue around the edges and I still had some dead bugs on my front bumper, not to mention some smudges of dirt from them partially wiping off the little dirt that was there. I ended up cleaning the car on my own (probably what I should have done from the beginning). It was easy to get the dead bugs off, clean the rims myself, and wipe off the dirt smudges the workers left on my car. I'll stick to my usual spot in the future. read more

This is a brand spanking new Chevron station. The pumps are spacious and clean, but the new computerized system makes a lot of annoying beeps. This isn't an ATM and it shouldn't care if I take a second to select the fuel grade. And now I get to detail my bizarre experience there today. As I was fueling, an employee was emptying the trash cans. I got out to look for a coupon for Lozano's Car Wash, where I was planning on going next, when I noticed the huge "Try Our New Car Wash" banner. "Excuse me. How much is the car wash?" I asked Mr. Trash. He said the exterior-only wash was was $6.99 and the deluxe wash was something like $19 but they were having some deal where it was now only $15 (I tuned out the numbers because I was liking the sound of the exterior only). So I finished with the gas and pulled up to the car wash area. "I'd like a car wash." "Do you want our deluxe wash?" "No thanks, I want the exterior only." "You have to go inside and pay." "I have to get out?" This defeats the whole purpose for me. But I get out, unlock the infant car seat and schlep inside. This new, huge Chevron convenience market is palatial. Whoa! "I'd like a car wash." "Would you like our super deluxe wash?" "No thanks, I want the exterior only." "Did you buy gas here?" I'm wondering why he's asking me this. "Yes." "Do you have a receipt?" "No." "No receipt?" "The guy changing the trash outside knows I got gas because I asked him about the car wash while I was doing it." "Ok, I'll trust you." I see him ring up a dollar discount, so that the wash is only $5.99. I wonder why the guy outside told my the non-gas price and why he didn't tell me to get a receipt. "Thanks. I don't think the machine asked me if I wanted a receipt." Then I go back outside. I hand the guy manning the car wash my receipt. He guides me onto the track and punches in my code for me. Then I go through the car wash. It is thunderously loud, but my 2.5-month-old daughter sleeps through it. My car, which has not been washed in nearly a year comes out really clean. Two guys dry it for me. In closing, if you have never driven through a car wash, you simply must. Course its not gonna save you a bundle load of $$$ but over time, yes. I've also utilized their air pump and water tank when I was driving the most piece of crap vehicle. I've also had my car washed there, the guys do a great job hand drying the vehicle. Not a single droplet of excess water, even in the grooves and crevices of your vehicle. The guy charged me for $13.99 for the best one (it was on half off day and I didn't know that). After they done with the car, I drove back to work after waited for 50 minutes. I didn't pay attention about the detail on my car. After work, I look at my car and saw scratches on the left side, big scratch on the mirror and scratches on the wheels too. I think this is because of the machine? I don't know what happened. This is my first time that i have cash wash with a machine ever. Not going to come back. And I would not recommend this place for a car wash since I called them up, asked if they notice about the scratches on customer cars.
